I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 190 - 190 189 Forest Patrol Xie Sen190: Chapter 189: Forest Patrol Xie Sen 190: Chapter 189: Forest Patrol Xie Sen As the conversation reached this point, Mu Ying naturally agreed to go and check it out.

“The snow is getting heavier, and it’s getting late.

How about we go to my place and stay the night?” Xie Sen brushed off the snowflakes on his body and said, “I’ve got newly smoked deer legs and some fine beer, much better than that fool,” he blinked at Mu Ying, “how about it?”

Mu Ying held his forehead, “I was wrong.

Stop teasing me.

I should have realized that a wild peregrine falcon wouldn’t be this plump!”

“Gehe~” the Fool straightened up proudly and rubbed its head on the neck of its caretaker.

It was evident they shared a good bond.

Mu Ying formed a Water Ball, infused it with a hint of Recovery Spring, and fed it to the happy falcon, thereby resolving their previous misunderstandings.

“Then let’s stay at Ah Sen’s place tonight.

It’s close by,” Zhan Qing also said.

Mu Ying had no objections.

“Ah Sen?

What’s the full name?”

“Xie Sen, nice to meet you, the number one Druid of Xia Country,” Xie Sen rubbed his palms together and shook hands lightly with Mu Ying.

Mu Ying smiled.

“Saying that, how could I not be embarrassed?”

“Haha, I see you’re quite pleased,” Xie Sen observed.

Not mentioning those annoying people, Mu Ying was quite approachable and friendly, exactly how a Druid should be.

The natural power within him made Xie Sen feel comfortable both in body and mind.

Zhan Qing also laughed upon hearing this.

It looked like neither of them was difficult to get along with.

Mu Ying relaxed a bit and secretly called Shi Yin back to his hands to comfort it.

Seeing Zhan Qing glance at her arm several times, Mu Ying rolled up her sleeve to show him, “It’s fine.

The health bars for my Wild Form and human form are separate.

The wing you shot isn’t fatal, it didn’t even take a third of my health, and it will heal over time, but your arrow was eaten by Gungun.”

Zhan Qing heaved a sigh of relief.

He hadn’t thought much when shooting, but knowing that the owl was a person, he had been somewhat worried, fearing something might have happened to her arm.

“Eaten...

what do you mean by that?” It’s not what he was thinking, right?

Xie Sen asked.

Mu Ying affectionately patted Gungun.

“Its Talent is that it can eat anything.”

“Truly a national treasure,” Xie Sen exclaimed, “Fool, look at it!”

Fool: (*@▽@*)

“Never mind, you’re good the way you are,” Xie Sen compromised.

“I see you didn’t bring much luggage, two months on the road, have you been hunting and surviving in your Wild Form the whole time?” Zhan Qing was really curious.

On such a long journey, she couldn’t have been eating raw food all the way!

Mu Ying got what he meant.

While she didn’t carry much, her storage pouch had everything.

However, ever since she started practicing her Wild Form, she had been disciplining herself to not rely on the items inside unless absolutely necessary.

Thus, she indeed hunted her way through the journey.

So she nodded her head, “If it weren’t for you, this chubby hawk would have been my dinner, the raw kind, mind you.

But it’s so plump that I, alone as an owl, would need two meals to finish it.”

Zhan Qing looked at Mu Ying with admiration: Is this really a matter of one or two meals?

The main point is eating it raw!

Xie Sen hugged his precious fool tightly—why, just when he thought Mu Ying was friendly and approachable, did he have to be reminded of her ferocity?

Mu Ying laughed heartily, “Scary, isn’t it?

When I first traveled north, I used the White Wolf Form on my journey too but never ate my prey raw.

I used to let go of weaker prey, but later, when a hyena stole my food, I fought fiercely in my wolf form and discovered another method of Druid cultivation.

After various trials, I noticed that wild animals’ taste differs from humans’; they are better suited to raw food.

So, after that, I got used to it for cultivation purposes.”

Zhan Qing wasn’t too taken aback, but Xie Sen, being a Forest Patrol, who could use a bit of natural power to perform divine arts, was quite surprised, “Are you saying that hunting like a complete beast is also a practice supported by nature?”

“Yes, nature is broader than we imagine.

Plants are just one of its most cherished creations; it also favors animals and even humans.

We live within it and need to survive.

Moderate hunting and logging are not problematic,” Mu Ying enlightened him.

Although Forest Patrols don’t need to comprehend nature as Druids do, focusing mainly on skills with very few spells as support, they still have their own professional codes that can be learned from one another.

Xie Sen, as if awakening from a dream, said, “That explains it.

I always felt the Druids on the forum acted a bit extreme, only planting trees and not allowing anyone to chop them down.

What about the people who need wood?

So, it’s like that!”

“Is that your house?” Walking through a dense forest, Mu Ying pointed at a roof faintly visible ahead, already covered with a thin layer of snow.

Seeing Xie Sen nodding, Mu Ying looked at him in surprise.

Previously, when he mentioned his home was near, she had speculated, but she never expected him to truly not live within the territory and instead, build his own house in the wilderness.

“Yes, how about that?

Impressive, right?

My first nemesis was a Jackal Wolfman.

This place was built after I wiped out the Jackal Wolfman Tribe; it’s not as safe as being in a territory, but it’s more peaceful.

Even Ah Qing comes here to stay for a few days from time to time,” Xie Sen said proudly.

The First Nemesis is a career skill available from Forest Patrol Level 1, allowing the designation of a certain type of creature as a nemesis.

Facing such creatures, one’s own strength is augmented.

Attacking a nemesis, you gain more experience rewards than with other creatures, including not just Slaughter Experience but also a small amount of Professional Experience.

One man wiping out an entire Jackal Wolfman Tribe and settling in the wilderness, such a tough person shouldn’t be unknown.

Mu Ying opened the forum leaderboard and flipped through it.

[No.10.

Xie Sen (Forest Patrol Level 4 15%)]

Indeed, existing as the tenth on the ranking, he was also the highest-level Forest Patrol in the Xia Country Region.

Level 4 15%, but looking at this chubby hawk, it seems he’s been at level 4 for a while now.

Forest Patrol Level 4 was when you first obtain an animal companion, but an animal companion summoned for the first time wouldn’t be this plump; perhaps his cultivation was hindered by tending to his animal companion!

Mu Ying had a deeper understanding of his bond with the fool, “Is your combat style two-handed weapon?”

At Forest Patrol Level 2, one could choose a combat style—either the Arrow Technique School, which leans towards ranged attacks, or the Two-Handed Weapon Combat Style, which emphasizes close-quarters combat.

The one who shot at her was Zhan Qing, acting as a Wanderer, using a hand crossbow.

Xie Sen did not carry a crossbow but had a short sword sheathed on each side of his waist.

The mismatched pair of swords that Mu Ying wielded catered to combat at different ranges and were not intended for simultaneous attack.

Unlike hers, the two-handed weapons of Forest Patrol were indeed used together in concert.
