I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 187 - 187 186 Gugu Gugu187: Chapter 186: Gugu Gugu 187: Chapter 186: Gugu Gugu Reflecting on the lessons from her previous attempt at a Wild Transformation into an aquatic creature, Mu Ying decided not to make too many assumptions before choosing a flying creature this time.

Sparrows and other common small birds were her last choice; she still preferred raptors like eagles.

However, these kinds of birds were not something one could find just by wanting to.

Mu Ying even cast a Blessing Magic on herself, hoping to find a desirable bird species to learn from.

Although her Blessing Magic had become much stronger, it always seemed more effective when bestowed upon others.

For herself, it would depend on luck and couldn’t be too greedy.

Thinking about how raptors flew higher than most other birds, she rode her flying broom in search of them high in the sky.

She only gave herself two days.

If she didn’t find one in two days, she would settle for a common bird species to study.

In the past, while hurrying on her broom, she had encountered eagles once or twice, but now that she was earnestly searching, she couldn’t find any at all.

As the two days were almost over and night had fallen, Mu Ying landed in the woods, ready to look for other birds.

As she walked through the forest, a chubby little owl with round, wide eyes and tufts of feathers standing on its head like small ears, suddenly fell from above and fluttered into her arms.

“Hoo hoo?” The little guy seemed terrified and dared not move from the comfort of her embrace.

Mu Ying comforted the little owl that had willingly flown into her arms, feeding it some water from the Recovery Spring, then she looked up into the tree.

She indeed spotted a large, dark tree hole within the branches.

Inside there was another little owl, eager to fly while its parents were gone.

Although they seemed better developed than many other birds, as owls, they had just reached the stage where they could learn to fly.

With no parental guidance, it was no surprise that it followed its sibling’s footsteps; Mu Ying, with an owl in one hand, suddenly found owls rather adorable and thought they wouldn’t be a bad choice either.

“Hoo—”

The owl parents returned home with prey, only to find their nest empty.

Then they saw their two fledglings snuggled up in a human’s lap, asking for water.

Mu Ying glanced at the prey the owl parents had brought back.

Isn’t this the eagle I’ve been looking for two days?

What breed of owl is this that could even take down an eagle?

Mu Ying even probed the owls with Biological Recognition.

“Eagle Owl, also known as the Great Owl, a level 1-3 flying beast, nocturnal predator, large and strong body, skilled in flight, adaptable to long-distance flying, sharp hearing, powerful legs...”

Just by looking at the level, one could tell that the Eagle Owl was a force among beasts.

What was an eagle in comparison?

Sometimes, not even an owl, oh no, an Eagle Owl could be defeated.

This is what she needed to learn!

Mu Ying immediately decided and naturally had to make sure the teaching arrangement was secure.

Fortunately, she was backed by natural power, and both little Eagle Owls were well and even particularly fond of her; otherwise, the Eagle Owl parents would have attacked her long ago.

She quickly explained the situation using animal conversation, expressed her sincerity with water from the Recovery Spring, and after safely returning the little Eagle Owls back to their nest, she obtained the parents’ permission to observe them up close.

Mu Ying created a cocoon-shaped tent in a nearby large tree using Plant Magic, temporarily settling down there.

Owls are creatures of the night, and the Eagle Owl, being a kind of owl, was no exception.

After dinner, the Eagle Owl parents began teaching their fledglings how to fly.

Watching them struggle to control their wings and almost fall to the ground, Mu Ying wanted to catch them but was stopped by the Eagle Owl parents.

This fall didn’t result in injury; on the contrary, it promoted their learning.

Mu Ying understood that this was a setback they had to experience in the process of learning to fly.

So, she no longer interfered but simply observed their activities, slowly adding and refining the image of the owl in her Spiritual Sea.

Indeed, as predators capable of defeating even eagles, the two young owls only took one night to fly decently.

Although they still flew somewhat clumsily, they could now fly up into trees by themselves.

Night passed, and day arrived.

Hidden in the tree hollow, the owl family was as quiet as hens, their eyes also closed.

But whenever some animal passed nearby, even before Mu Ying could notice what it was, the owl family would immediately open their eyes, quietly paying attention to their surroundings without making a sound, their alertness and hearing very strong.

Later, when she followed the owl couple out hunting, Mu Ying found that their diet was very broad.

Mice, foxes, hedgehogs, rabbits, insects, young chickens, and other birds—if they could defeat them, there was nothing they wouldn’t eat.

And they didn’t just operate at night; after the young owls could fly, the owl couple sometimes went hunting during the day as well.

At the same time, Mu Ying also witnessed what so-called superb flying skills looked like.

Not to mention flying close to the ground, the key was silent flight, stealthily approaching prey.

Moreover, their flying at high altitudes and combat abilities were not a bit inferior to eagles.

They were indeed the birds of Mu Ying’s dreams, and choosing them for the transformation meant she had made a gain.

As her understanding of the owls grew, her own owl image became more and more substantial.

Finally, after watching the young owls’ first hunt, her image was complete.

She was originally riding on the flying broom when she felt that she could try to transform, so she folded up the broom in midair and let herself fall freely.

Just before touching the ground, she became a young owl, flying close to the ground for a stretch before soaring into the sky.

The young owls: “Gugu?” Why is she a size bigger than us, gu?

During her first flight, Mu Ying only felt exhilaration.

This was a completely different sensation from riding the broom.

Although the broom moved with her intentions and didn’t require much effort to control, there was still something missing in the end.

But when she spread her wings and soared, it was true freedom, as she tried out the ultimate flying techniques of the owl she had learned during this time, feeling as if she had truly conquered the skies.

The sky was no longer a place to long for but out of reach, the sense of security she got from spreading her wings and soaring was far beyond what the flying broom could provide.

She fell in love with this feeling at once.

Looking at her own majestic yet adorable appearance, the beautiful ear feathers, and the appearance that both the owl couple and young owls praised, Mu Ying, the Beauty Among Owls, could not be more satisfied.

It even made her feel that her Blessing Magic had improved again.

“Gugu, gugu~” Joyful hoots echoed through the skies.

“Gugu~” The young owls also joined the ranks, frolicking in the air with Mu Ying.

Owls are creatures that prefer solitude, only coming together during the breeding season.

The young owls that had learned to hunt would also leave the protection of their parents to build nests and venture out on their own.

Having completed their breeding duties, the owl couple also chose to leave this nest and go their separate ways.

The newly skilled novice owl Mu Ying said her farewells to the owl couple and the young owls, resuming her northbound journey.
