I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 157 - 157 156 The Decadent Turtle157: Chapter 156: The Decadent Turtle 157: Chapter 156: The Decadent Turtle Being a Lord is really tough!

Mu Ying lay at the bottom of the sea, nibbling on a fruit now and then.

The figure of Shi Yin swimming around her was the only highlight of her mining life.

After eating, she still dutifully went to search for ore.

She had to find exposed ore to confirm the presence of iron ore in the vicinity.

So many days and nights had passed, and she finally found traces of iron, and not just a few.

“This is it!”

Mu Ying’s whole turtle form brightened up, really, it was tormenting, if not for the allure of iron ore, she would have given up long ago.

Being a model turtle worker was no fun, and the initial thrill of diving into the sea had long since vanished.

Choosing to build a Sub-camp, the protective shield expanded.

The shield she had designed in advance included features for draining water and absorbing oxygen, and it was not purely transparent but emitted a faint fluorescence.

The moment it expanded, the seawater was pushed away, and the dark seabed lit up somewhat.

It startled quite a few fish that lived there.

A Short-distance Transmission Array was also set up concurrently.

Mu Ying cleared all the sediment in the camp, getting a clearer view of the plentiful exposed iron ore.

Completely reassured, she transformed back into her human form and transmitted back to her territory, leaving the coal mine for another time when she felt recuperated.

Although she had a turtle’s body and could endure solitude like a turtle, she could not withstand being a mining labor model in the dark, bleak seabed.

Spending any longer under the sea, she feared she might develop psychological issues.

She pushed open the cabin’s window, the fine sunlight scattering through the trees, the scent of grass and trees hitting her face, occasionally a player would pass on the path, chatting about their own affairs.

This was the place she loved!

Perhaps having stayed in the dark too long, she especially loved the sunlight.

She then opened the door and walked towards Moon Lake.

The entire territory where she could properly bask in the sun was indeed on Moon Lake.

Using Water Walking, she stepped directly onto Moon Lake.

Then, in the middle of the lake, she encountered two small turtles swimming on their backs.

Mu Ying initially thought they were like her before, unable to turn over, so she stooped down and straightened them.

But the two little guys flipped back over by themselves.

Mu Ying had been a turtle for a while now, and although sea turtles and land-based turtles have some minor differences, some looks and habits were quite similar.

There were no rocks in the lake that they could climb to sun their shells, so they settled for sunning their bellies instead.

But sunning they must.

Watching these two little turtles, Mu Ying found she had suddenly unlocked another form of Wild Transformation.

It was a large turtle form, quite similar to her sea turtle form but slightly smaller.

Now, she could also sunbathe.

However, she had no habit of sunning her belly.

She spent a little energy to create a design for a Lotus Platform, then constructed a trio of bluestone Lotus Platforms huddled together in the center of the lake.

Then, very kindly, she placed the two small turtles on the smaller Lotus Platforms and transformed into a slightly larger turtle herself, sprawling on the larger Lotus Platform.

She lifted her head and grunted a sound, oh the comfort!

It felt like her heart, tormented by the mining under the sea, was healed a great deal.

She comfortably closed her eyes and fell asleep, unaware that two small turtles were laboriously crawling onto her back.

After all, the small Lotus Platform wasn’t as comfortable as the shell of their own kind.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the Lord.

Do you know what she’s been up to?”

“I have no idea.

Maybe she’s hiding somewhere for some hardcore training again, it’s really heartbreaking.”

“Last week, Feihong Village was upgraded to a town, and their Lord, Zhou Hongfei, said on the forum that he wants to ally with us, but our Lord hasn’t responded yet.”

“Puh, if being a town-level territory is enough to open such a long-distance Transmission Array, why don’t we partner with Lingtian Village instead?

They have so many people they can barely support, and even Luoxia Village is better.

Although Luoxia’s main campsite is still the personal playground of Li Luoxia and her team, and not many from the Sub-camp are open to outsiders, there aren’t any other main territories in the northwest.

If they’re reluctant to take in new people, we certainly can, any would be better than Feihong Town.”

“Yeah, Feihong Town is totally Zhou Hongfei’s one-man show, calling him a petty emperor isn’t going too far.

I heard from Noa that setting up a Long-distance Transmission Array costs a lot of money.

This Zhou Hongfei doesn’t ally with Luoxia Village or contact Lingtian Village, just comes to us.

I don’t know what he’s up to, but with those harsh conditions in his territory, once our Transmission Arrays connect, won’t everyone just run over to our place?”

“Ah, where has the Lord gone?

We need to remind her.

I always feel Zhou Hongfei is up to no good.

I even saw leaked news from Feihong Town yesterday; Zhou Hongfei, with his personal guards, had already left to visit our Lord, not sure how many days he’s been on the road.”

“Eh?

You’re talking about the Lord?

I saw her today!”

“What?

Where?”

“Right there at Moon Lake, and she’s still there.

She’s sunbathing turtles on the lake, super cute!”

Sunbathing turtles?

What’s that all about?

The informed crowd rushed towards Moon Lake, bewildered.

Mu Ying wasn’t specifically avoiding people; she was seen heading to Moon Lake, constructing the Lotus Platform, and transforming into a turtle.

Having the Wolf Transformation as a baseline, turning into a turtle wasn’t strange, but many remarked that their leader sure had some unusual hobbies.

When the group reached the lake, they naturally saw the three turtles on the Lotus Platform, one large and two small, piled together.

“Where’s the Lord?”

“There, that slightly bigger turtle is her.”

“Is this the Lord’s new Wild Form?

Why a turtle?”

“You said it, but you see, our Lord has such a beautiful shell, she really is a beauty among turtles!”

“And what’s with the two smaller ones?

Is the Lord sunbathing them?”

“I guess so, it’s just too adorable.”

“I declare, turtles surpass bunnies as the second most adorable beings in my heart!”

“What’s the first?”

“Do I even need to say?

The status of our national treasure is unwavering!”

“....”

Mu Ying sunbathed from day through night, sleeping blissfully, and slept from night into the next morning without moving at all, only waking up in the dead of night to eat some food before collapsing back again.

The next day, the small turtles that had gone back into the water for food climbed laboriously back onto the Lotus Platform and continued to climb onto Mu Ying’s back.

This time, as she lay there with her eyes closed, resting, she saw clearly the two mischievous small turtles.

Just as they were about to successfully climb on, Mu Ying subtly shifted.

“Splatch!”

The two small turtles fell down, sadly not landing on their backs, and Mu Ying cast a regretful glance at them.

She lay still, just waiting for them to climb.

Whenever they were about to get on, she would move slightly, causing them to fall off.

Eventually, both turtles ended up on their backs, legs flailing, unable to flip over.

Mu Ying was pleased.

After struggling for a while, the turtles also gave up and just lay there quietly basking in the sun, so content that those unaware would think they meant to lie like that!
