I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 173 - 173 172 Sunbathing173: Chapter 172: Sunbathing 173: Chapter 172: Sunbathing Indeed, learning the Spell Ring Upgrade skill was truly difficult.

After secluding herself for over two days, Mu Ying was only able to read through the book once and roughly understand the general direction of the skill.

She hadn’t even managed to get started with actual practice.

It wasn’t like Druid spells, which simply involved chatting with nature.

You just had to describe the desired spell effect, but each step of learning this skill required her own hard work and study.

Mu Ying had come to realize the true difficulty of mastering a skill.

Knowing that haste wouldn’t help, she resolved to study diligently.

She decided not to pressure herself too much, but to plan her time well and advance step by step, ensuring she didn’t neglect other areas.

Thus, she added learning the Spell Ring Upgrade and Mu Clan Language to her study list.

Every morning, she practiced the yet-to-be-mastered 3-ring spells until her Mana Value was depleted, then took care of the plants in the Plantation.

Her main focus was the Gem Tree and oak seeds.

For the rest of the plants, she just needed a quick check.

The Experience she could gain from their daily care had become quite limited, so she left them to be tended by Tao Hua and Bo He.

With the remaining time, she practiced her swordsmanship skills, and then studied the Mu Clan Language with Tao Hua and Bo He.

And just like that, the morning would pass.

In the afternoon, before her Mana Value was restored, she left herself free time to either rest, brew Magic Potions, or deal with territory affairs.

Once her Mana Value was replenished, she would study the Spell Ring Upgrade skill, which also required using spells during practice.

With such a routine, Mu Ying felt much more at peace, no longer feeling anxious about the many things left undone.

So this afternoon, after having lunch and entering her free time, she wanted to relax a bit.

The last two days spent on skill research had been exhausting.

Her way of relaxing was always the same, using Wild Transformation to turn into an animal and bask in the sun.

An animal’s body always felt much more relaxed than a human form.

Should she transform into Wolf Form or turtle form?

Without even thinking, it had to be turtle form, deeply influenced by her turtle teacher.

With a teleport, she arrived at the Lotus Platform in the center of Moon Lake.

A couple of small turtles, taking liberties with the cozy nest she had specifically built for them—sized to their petite forms—ignored it completely, choosing instead to stack atop each other in her spot.

Mu Ying, taking one turtle in each hand, tossed them into the water and herself transformed, languidly sprawling out on the Lotus Platform.

The autumn sun was neither cold nor hot, truly comfortable, 〈( ̄) ̄)〈

Li Luoxia and her team had just fooled Zhou Hongfei, sated with food and drink, their spirits high and refreshed as they stepped out to aid their digestion.

Then they overhead players mentioning the Lord.

She stopped someone and asked, “What were you just saying about our Lord?”

“Oh, she’s out sunbathing with the little turtles in Moon Lake,” the person said with a wave of the hand, clearly used to it by now.

Li Luoxia wasn’t hearing for the first time that their Lord enjoyed sunbathing with the turtles on Moon Lake so much that she could stay motionless for days and nights.

She didn’t know what sort of sunbathing involved a turtle, but she had to see it for herself.

And so, the Luoxia Team headed towards Moon Lake.

It turned out that the so-called sunbathing with little turtles was just a larger turtle with two little turtles stacked on its back.

Quite vivid!

And rather interesting too.

Li Luoxia watched with great interest.

“Mom, Sister Mu Ying looks so comfortable, when I level up to 4, should I turn into a turtle, or Gungun?

A little wolf seems nice too.”

Li Xihe counted on her fingers, “But it’s going to take such a long time to reach level 4, I’m only at level 1 and a half now...”

Li Luoxia had a full head of black lines, not finding turtles interesting anymore.

It would be wiser for her daughter to stick to more normal preferences.

She dashed her daughter’s excitement with a splash of reality, “Turtles are aquatic creatures, and you can’t transform into those at level 4.

Even if you wait until you can transform into aquatic creatures, wouldn’t dolphins be better?”

Li Xihe tilted her head and thought about it, “Oh, why didn’t Sister Mu Ying choose a dolphin then?”

Mu Ying was not asleep.

When she saw them coming over, she gave up her plan to bask in the sun in her turtle form.

After all, the sun was there every day, but friends weren’t always around.

They had only paid for five days of lodging, and she guessed they wouldn’t be staying much longer.

Plus, sitting on the grass by the shore and enjoying the breeze was quite nice too.

As she leisurely swam to the shore, she overheard the mother-daughter conversation and rolled her eyes.

With a touch of resentment over giving up her sunbathing, she said, “Dolphins are great, but you’ve got to be able to find one!”

“Eh?

Sounds like there’s a story there, come on, tell us!” Lin Zhixiu gossiped eagerly.

Watching the expectant looks from the members of the Luoxia Team and some of the local residents who pretended to pass by accidentally to eavesdrop, it seemed there wasn’t really anything she couldn’t share.

Clearing her throat, Mu Ying began, “It all started when I discovered the location of a rich iron ore deposit near the coastal waters of Coastal City...”

Starting with being attacked by Fishmen, the burning of the Fishman village, searching for dolphins and sharks on the sea, and finally meeting the turtle master, settling for less and learning turtle transformation.

She also recounted in detail her hapetitful experience of mining in the lightless depths of the sea.

She only omitted the fact that she had a broom to ride on and was well-supplied with storage equipment.

As an online fiction writer who barely supported herself and Shi Yin before the apocalypse, she had quite a knack for storytelling.

Since it was all from her own experiences, she told it with vivid details, painting a clear picture.

The others listened intently.

The eavesdropping players forgot to pretend and all crowded around, forming inner and outer circles.

After Mu Ying finished, she patted Li Xihe’s shoulder with a serious look, “So you see, dolphins are indeed hard to find, but turtles are not bad.

Once you learn turtle transformation, you’ll quickly get the hang of it, and mastering the tortoise form will come naturally.

You’ll be unstoppable in both fresh and saltwater.

When it’s time for you to learn turtle form, it’ll be much easier for you, as there are two little turtles that always take my spot in the sun.

You can start by learning the tortoise form and then find a sea turtle, which will definitely save you from taking many detours.”

“Yay!” Li Xihe nodded, thinking it made a lot of sense.

She didn’t want to end up like Sister Mu Ying, searching alone in the sea for so long; that would be too pitiable.

Li Luoxia: ...

Her darling daughter might be led astray.

Lin Zhixiu hugged Mu Ying, “That’s so sad; I feel scared just listening to your story.”

“Yes, Lord, you have to be careful.

Take good care of yourself and avoid such risks.

We wouldn’t want to end up like those in Northern Europe, where suddenly their territory was gone.”

They referred to an incident in Northern Europe where someone coveted the Lord’s position and killed the Lord to ascend, but failed to claim the title.

Consequently, the entire territory fell into paralysis, with all protective measures dissolved, worse off than a land with no master.

Wood Mu Ying held her forehead, “Don’t worry, you know how cautious I am, right?”

The players recalled, true, the person who ranked in the teens on the Neon Area’s combat leaderboard dared to lead an assault on the Dragon Nest Replica, though they vanished without a trace thereafter.

Those from the Daxia Country Region who topped the leaderboard only went into the Ghoul Replica once, only peeking inside before stepping out.

What?

The Mushroom Man Dungeon?

That doesn’t count.

It’s said that upon entering that instance for the first time, the Lord won over the Mushroom Men with her charm and rapport.

Mu Ying didn’t know exactly what they were imagining.

Though her expression was a bit weird, she nodded in agreement.
