I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 171 - 171 170 Magic Ring Upgrade171: Chapter 170: Magic Ring Upgrade 171: Chapter 170: Magic Ring Upgrade This habit of handing out books to the younger generation without much discussion sure leaves one both thrilled and worried.

She had only skimmed through the diary section of “Oubai and the Oak Tree Elf” once, and she hadn’t even had the chance to delve into the Mu Clan Language sentences and their explanations, not to mention the glossary that she hadn’t even looked at yet—she had no idea how long it would take her to get through it.

And now there was an even bigger book, causing Mu Ying to feel both pain and pleasure.

Shom stopped his rummaging, “Given the path of Druidism you’re currently following, it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to interfere too much.

Show me the weapons you usually use.”

“?” Mu Ying, puzzled, handed him the Green Wood Longbow and the Fine Iron Long Sword and short sword.

“Using Infinite Arrows with this bow seems a bit of a waste; they aren’t very compatible now, are they?

The swords too, Druids are better off using wooden weapons,” Shom remarked after inspecting them, returning the two swords, “Although I’m not a master at weapon creation, I can modify this bow for you.

I’ll remake two swords in this style for you, and with your Infinite Arrows as the base, purple quality shouldn’t be an issue for the bow.

As for the swords, I’ll replace them with wooden ones of the same design, which won’t be inferior to this Fine Iron Sword—at least blue quality.

For these two weapons, I’ll offer you a permanent warranty and if I enhance my weapon creation skills, I’ll upgrade and optimize them for free.”

Mu Ying swallowed hard.

Was this some pie falling from the sky?

Purple quality weapons, even if she pooled all her savings from the territory, she couldn’t afford one, and there was nowhere to buy them—weapon stores didn’t even sell them.

Blue quality ones were already considered a treasure of the shop.

Of course, that was also because the shops in the territory were currently quite ordinary.

The strength of the shop owners was just average, mostly those without potential for further upgrades, some even less capable than the players.

Aside from the copper coin pawnshop and the Copper Coin Hotel, which were bottom-level shops under big corporations, there were only privately owned small shops—individual operations without any chains—their supply channels naturally quite ordinary.

The goods sold were mostly essential life necessities, nothing rare or extraordinary.

The only exception among them was Oak Grocery.

Grandpa Shom’s strength was uncertain, but it was definitely formidable, as among all the shop owners, only he still diligently cultivated on his own professional path while others focused more on doing business.

Mu Ying was nearly knocked out by this sudden offer of a lifetime weapons package, staring dazedly as Grandpa Shom teleported away with her bow, it took her a long while to snap back to reality.

It seemed that the Oak Tree Fairy held a very important place in Grandpa Shom’s heart.

She must water the oak seed more with Recovery Spring water!

Starting now!

She took out her day’s quota of Recovery Spring, measured the maximum amount the oak seed could withstand, diluted it in a Water Ball conjured by her Water Creation Skill, then scattered the water ball into a fine mist, enveloping the soil in the pot.

...

She hadn’t expected this oak seed to be such an experience farming tool; Mu Ying watered it even more vigorously.

If it were any ordinary plant, this would have been enough to crack its shell and make it sprout, growing significantly, but the oak seed in the pot remained stoically unchanged.

Well, it would make sense—otherwise, Grandpa Shom wouldn’t have waited until now.

“Hurry up and grow, your brother Oubai has been waiting for a long time,” Mu Ying sighed.

She then glanced at her two carefree Gem Fairies chasing her and calling her mom.

Oh well, might as well escape the fate of being an 18-year-old mother first!

Mu Ying flipped through the Mu Clan Language dictionary, learned the pronunciation of a few words, and then named her two gem fairies.

The one in the peach blossom dress was named Tao Hua, and the one in the mint leaf clothes was named Bo He, following the naming conventions of their oak tree ancestors.

According to the diary, little fairies like to be named after plants.

Then Mu Ying pointed at the fairy in the pink dress and said in Mu Clan Language, “Tao Hua!”

Then she pointed at the other and said, “Bo He!”

Finally, she pointed at herself, “Sister Mu Ying!”

After repeating it many times, the two little fairies finally understood and started calling her Sister Mu Ying.

Mu Ying finally breathed a sigh of relief and let them go off to play.

She opened the book Grandpa Shom had just thrown to her, “Magic Ring Upgrade for General Magic Professions.”

“Is it really a Skill Book?” Mu Ying exclaimed, surprised it was a General Skill!

Spells are divided from level 0 to level 9 based on the amount of Mana consumption.

Different ring levels of spells are hard to surpass.

Some effects of low-level spells are unachievable even by high-level spells.

Even after the Profession Level rises and the energy contained in 1 point of Mana in professionals increases, enhancing the power of the spell, the spell is ultimately still limited by the ring level’s energy cap, and its power is always less than that of high-level spells.

This is where the Leveling Skill comes from.

It’s a skill that helps spells cross ring levels and enhance power while maintaining the original characteristics of the spell...

After reading the skill explanation, Mu Ying understood the value of this skill.

A General Skill indeed, one that Druids, Priests, Mages, and Magicians could all learn.

It was so rare; she had been studying magic for so long and already had a fair understanding of the limitations of spell ring levels.

Her understanding was that the power of a spell was like concentric circles with the level 0 magic at the center, then expanding outward.

The center is where the Mana is injected.

When the spell forms, the Mana flows into the concentric circles like ink, starting from the level 0 region.

At most, you can invest 1 point of Mana in a level 0 magic.

If you exceed this amount, the ink does not diffuse to the next circle, but instead spreads the circular arc at the edge of the level 0 spell, causing the entire spell to collapse.

Now, this Magic Ring Upgrade Skill strengthens the elasticity of each concentric boundary, allowing more Mana to be injected to achieve the effect of a spell from a higher ring level.

Although it can only go up to one ring level lower than the highest level spell one controls and cannot cross levels to upgrade,

it means that at her current level, she could only increase from level 0 to level 1, from level 1 to level 2, and she would need to master level 4 spells before she could reach level 3, but this was still very useful.

Thinking about the Water Creation Skill, Druid Tricks at level 1, Entanglement Technique, Healing Truth, and Divine Movement Technique at level 2, Mu Ying was filled with anticipation.

Although this Skill Book was an actual book, with theories and training methods recorded in it, unlike the Crosshair Skill which was an infusion-type Skill Book that simply slapped onto the body, transferring knowledge directly into the brain, and could be practiced after internalization,

although it required reading bit by bit and pondering slowly, which was much slower and more brain-consuming, it was still a Skill Book!

And such a useful skill at that.

Mu Ying didn’t mind at all, Grandpa Shom was really, really generous.

For this Skill Book alone, she was willing to water this oak seed for a lifetime.
