I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 159 - 159 158 Going Out Again159: Chapter 158 Going Out Again 159: Chapter 158 Going Out Again When Mu Ying saw that dark figure leading a group of chicks for a walk on the grassland of the chicken coop, she was shocked.

Where was her adorable Gungun?

What the heck was this black bear?

Mu Ying even worried that it had awakened some strange new Skill, which had caused it to turn black, and only after carefully checking the animal companion’s information did she relax.

It wasn’t a Skill, so had it really been burnt?

Looking at the chicks that occasionally breathed fire, even the charred appearance seemed too even.

“Gungun!”

The dark, plump figure hesitated before turning around and then waddled over.

Upon getting closer, Mu Ying touched its fur and realized that only a small part was singed; the rest was fine.

Watching Gungun who didn’t seem to mind its damaged looks, proudly displaying itself, Mu Ying was speechless.

“Alright, these chicks don’t need your care anymore, come back with me!”

Mu Ying pulled it along and teleported to the workshop in the Plantation.

Upon opening the Magic Potion cabinet, sure enough, there was one bottle of hair dyeing magic potion missing.

“What were you thinking, dyeing yourself all black?”

Gungun felt wronged.

Was black not good-looking?

“Then tell me, why is the black bear not as popular as the panda amongst bears?

What’s the difference between you and a black bear now?

Just three sizes rounder?”

Mu Ying said helplessly.

Gungun was stunned; it couldn’t accept the reality of its decreased attractiveness and hugged itself in self-pity.

“Wait here a moment,” Mu Ying said as she took a dish and went to the cabinet to get an antidote.

After preparing a bottle of antidote, she poured it into the basin, mixed it with warm water, dunked the shrunken Gungun in, and vigorously scrubbed until the white patches were clean again.

“There, no more random dyeing from now on, and you don’t need to go to the chicken coop either.

Let them free-range for a while,” Mu Ying took out her Magic Wand and tapped Gungun, instantly drying off all the moisture on its body.

Gungun felt around on its body and looked in the mirror, and seeing that it had returned to normal, its spirits lifted.

Then it started counting on its fingers.

“I remember the ones you’ve hatched; you owe me a hundred roast chickens,” Mu Ying said reluctantly, “But we don’t have that much chicken meat right now.

I’ll start by roasting what we have on hand, and the rest, once those Fire-breathing Chickens grow up, we can slowly make up for it.”

If those chicks that saw it as their mother knew that it was longing for their meat, they would probably cry!

Mu Ying took out all the stored Fire-breathing Chicken meat, dug up some wet clay, picked some leaves, and prepared all the ingredients.

Then, with a wave of her Magic Wand, Cooking Magic was ready.

The Fire-breathing Chicken was rubbed with seasoning, wrapped in leaves, rolled in the wet clay, and then stuffed under the fire pit.

As the Fire-breathing Chicken cooked, Mu Ying instructed Gungun, “Stay here and watch it.

There’s no need to add more wood.

I have something to do, and I’ll be right back.”

After saying this, she teleported to the copper coin pawnshop.

“Boss, do Koutao Fishmen have anything valuable on them?”

She was in a hurry, so she got straight to the point and asked 559.

“Koutao Fishmen, eh?

Crazy creatures.

Their body fat is somewhat valuable.

Rendered, it makes for excellent lamp oil,” 559 said, patting his beer belly.

“How do you render the fat?” Mu Ying asked.

“Just set up a pot and simmer it like lard.

You can get about half a pound of lamp oil from a Koutao Fishman.

I buy lamp oil at 1 silver coin per pound,” 559 looked at Mu Ying frown and added, “If it’s too much trouble for you, you can sell me the corpses directly.

I’ll pay 90 copper coins for two fishmen corpses.”

Mu Ying thought about how she had specifically chosen higher-level Fishmen, totaling twenty-four, which made for quite a pile.

It would be hard to explain to others how she got so many Fishmen back if she got help to render them, so she said, “I’ll sell the corpses then.”

559 skillfully led her to the inner room.

Mu Ying took all the Fishman corpses out of the Storage Pouch.

559 stepped forward to sift through them, “These are all Level 2, right?

A bit larger than the Level 1s.

Normally, I would charge one silver coin for two, but there are some with severe burn marks on their bodies, and some of the fats have been burned off, so the price is somewhat reduced.

Let’s make it even, 95 copper for two.”

Mu Ying nodded in agreement; in total, she had 11 silver and 40 copper coins, which was quite good.

By the time she teleported back to the Plantation, the fire had almost gone out.

She scraped all the clay balls from underneath the fire pit, leaving two outside; Mu Ying stored the rest in her Storage Pouch, “Whenever you want to eat them, just come to me.”

After dinner, Mu Ying went into the house and took out all the earnings from her territory.

She counted out 100 gold coins and chose to construct a Long-distance Transmission Array.

Two mini Array Plates appeared in her hands.

The Short-range Teleportation Array is dependent on the territory and doesn’t need a specific location; it allows teleportation anywhere within the territory and camps.

However, the Long-distance Transmission Array needs to be fixed in place.

Just like building a stone path, she had to bury the small models of the Transmission Array in the ground.

After burying the two small Array Plates, she could still adjust their positions within the territory’s range via the territory map.

Moreover, after construction, the array could be moved within a certain range, but it would cost some energy.

For example, the one in her own territory could be moved to any place within her territory or sub-camp using energy, but it could not be taken back, nor could a transmission point from one territory be moved to another.

Mu Ying thought it over and decided it was best to get the preparations done in advance.

She then designed a blueprint for Sky Square.

[Facility: Sky Square]

[Function: An outdoor square for residents to use.

No matter the weight, it will not exert pressure on the supporting trees and can be expanded with energy and materials.]

[Size: 500 square meters]

[Required materials: Wood, energy]

[Blueprint conversion requirement: 200 energy]

The construction of this square was relatively inexpensive; Mu Ying directly built it on the open space at the entrance of the territory, then moved all the Territory Notice Boards up there and placed one of the Array Plates on the square.

But for now, this Array Plate only served as a fixed point; it was completely indiscernible, and wouldn’t show the appearance of the array until the other Array Plate was in place and the array was fully activated.

She kept the second Array Plate securely and fetched a shoulder bag, placing Gungun inside and carrying it on her back.

“We’re off!”

Mu Ying mounted her broom and flew northwestward.

Before Zhou Hongfei arrived at the territory, she planned to establish contact with Luoxia Village first.

The Long-distance Transmission Array didn’t necessarily have to be used between owned territories; she could also choose to build the other end in a No Master Camp, without needing anyone’s permission.

But a No Master Camp always remains unchanged.

On the forums, there was speculation that the protective shields of No Master Camps would not upgrade on their own and might be breached later on, which is why many players preferred to join owned camps instead.

Mu Ying didn’t dare to gamble on the strength of the No Master Camps’ protective shields; the owned territories seemed much more reassuring.

Luoxia Village and Lingtian Village were her prime choices for establishing Transmission Arrays.

Although Lingtian Village had a large population and her own territory would definitely attract people, it was a stronghold for the official nobility of Xia Country, with complex power structures, and the Lord did not have much say.

To establish contact there would probably take a lot of time.

With the matter of Feihong Town at hand and her tight schedule, the more centralized power of Luoxia Village seemed more appropriate.
