I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 151 - 151 150 Forum Turmoil151: Chapter 150 Forum Turmoil 151: Chapter 150 Forum Turmoil The next day, the players in Qingshan Town saw their Lady Lord torturing herself in the lake again, having entrusted all the planting activities to another Druid, Zheng Jing, in her territory.

At first, they could understand her holding her breath in the lake for dozens of seconds to a minute, but as time went on and her durations grew longer, the players couldn’t help but take extra glances at the lake.

Could a person really endure for that long?

If it weren’t for the rope that occasionally surfaced, they might have thought she had drowned.

When Mu Ying came ashore to rest, some of the players who knew her better came over to ask.

“I’m practicing a new spell, Magic Water Breathing,” Mu Ying said, wiping the water from her hair.

On the surface, she appeared calm, but internally she breathed a sigh of relief.

That ridiculous rumor that she had given up on life should dissipate now, right?

As the second town-level territory to upgrade without raising the entry fee, it was a hot topic these days!

Mu Ying, ranked first in the Xia Country Region and the second town-level Lady Lord, was a high-school student with dark green curly hair and emerald-colored eyes, naturally attracting a considerable amount of attention.

How could Mu Ying, who often read forum posts while eating, be unaware of this?

The hot posts on the night of the territory’s upgrade were about the policies of Qingyun Town, such as “Uncovering the policies of Qingshan Town,” “Why Qingshan Village was the second to upgrade to a town,” and “What exactly are the conditions for territory upgrades?”

It was quite normal, and Mu Ying even drew inspiration from them.

Some speculated that in addition to population and sub-camps, the prosperity of the territory was also very important.

This prosperity might depend not only on the facilities of the territory, but also on the standard of living and happiness of the residents.

Perhaps not all conditions needed to be met; maybe when combined to a certain extent, a territory could upgrade.

This was something Mu Ying hadn’t considered, but she had inadvertently done quite well.

But after waking up the next morning, the top hot post had changed to “Why did our beautiful Lady Lord jump into the water on the night of the territory upgrade, is the town-level territory facing a great horror?”

When Mu Ying saw this post, she nearly spat out her soy milk.

Clicking in, she found it full of speculation about why she was ‘self-torturing’ in the lake the previous night.

The most liked comment in the thread actually suggested she was struck by something after the territory upgrade and was contemplating suicide.

That was just ridiculous.

The Qingshan Town player who initially posted it as a joke to attract attention was also dumbfounded.

After finishing her practice that morning, Mu Ying deliberately lingered by the lake, pretending to dry her hair, waiting for someone to ask so she could explain.

In reality, once she returned to her Tree House, a drying spell took care of everything.

When she checked the forum during lunch, sure enough, the sentiment had shifted.

“The Qingyun Town Lady Lord tortures herself in the pursuit of mastering spells!”

“If even the top ranker starts self-torturing for power, what excuse do we have not to work hard!”

“Uncovering Mu Ying.”

The top three hot posts were unexpectedly about her.

Mu Ying: Are players now so free that they spend their days flooding the forums with posts?

She automatically skipped the first two abnormal-looking posts, not wanting to strain her eyes.

“Let’s see what the players have dug up,” Mu Ying clicked on the third post.

“Mu Ying, aged eighteen, top student of Coastal Middle School’s senior year, an orphan, her parents sacrificed to the heavens, possesses boundless mana...”

Mu Ying struggled to cover her mouth, swallowing the food in her mouth, as the forum became increasingly unsuitable for mealtime browsing!

She is an orphan, but it’s not necessarily the case that her parents have made sacrifices to the heavens—after all, her Elf Bloodline is still in question.

“...Anyway, this girl without parents, in the transformed world of the apocalypse, became a trendsetter of the era, single-handedly increasing the number of Druids when the quantity of Priests was critically low.

Here’s a reminder, not every Druid is Mu Ying.

Blindly following trends is unwise.

Mu Ying’s Perception is probably at least 15 points; without that Perception, don’t even dream of cultivating at that speed, let alone juggle two Divine Skill professions...”

Mu Ying nodded, appreciating the sound advice.

“...Now, back to Mu Ying herself, she’s a native of Xia Country, with above-average looks.

According to sources from Qingshan Town, a few months back, her hair turned dark green overnight, and her eyes—said to resemble emeralds—even her skin has become fairer, as if she had a full-body cosmetic surgery, transforming her into a top-tier beauty.

Some speculated, based on Qingshan Town’s specialty Hair Dye Potions, that her hair might have been dyed.

But her eyes, they can’t explain that.

I believe she must have integrated some kind of Bloodline, most likely Elf!”

Mu Ying’s pupils constricted; they had guessed right!

However, she hadn’t integrated a Bloodline, but rather purified her own.

Now, there are a few examples of integrating Bloodlines and changing Races, mostly by something called Bloodline Essence, but the outcome isn’t always good—there’s even a risk of exploding and dying.

Mu Ying looked through the comments below the post, her expression complex.

“Do you even know what Elves look like to make that guess?”

“Isn’t Bloodline Essence something you use at the cost of your looks for a chance at becoming stronger?”

It seemed like not many believed it.

“Finally, let’s talk about strength.

Mu Ying, as the top of the Xia Country Region’s global level ranking gap and unnamed on the local combat rank list, what’s her real strength?

I urge those players who still believe that warriors reign supreme to wake up.

While Spell-based Professions are difficult to master, if you do master them, you can almost always outclass a warrior of the same level in a 1v1 fight.

Mu Ying is exactly that kind of person who has mastered the skills.”

While Druids have no obvious weaknesses, they also have no distinct advantages.

However, Mu Ying stands first in the level rankings, with high Perception and quick Spell Learning.

Even if all aspects were mediocre, she’d still be stronger than the rest.

Therefore, I believe that while other Druids of the same level may be at a disadvantage, Mu Ying’s Druid is strong—especially with her divine Arrow Technique and Swordsmanship, both at least of an adept level, her strength might very well be top-tier.

So, judging someone’s strength based on the combat rank list is inaccurate; it only reflects killing enemies and is a good reference for close-combat Professions, as they need to accumulate Professional Experience through combat.

But Spellcasters spend much more time engrossed in learning Spells; naturally, their combat ranks would be lower.

If you’re interested, you might want to look into what happened a couple of days ago with those drug dealers from Chunan who underestimated Mu Ying and got themselves killed...”

There’s some substance to this post.

After reading it, Mu Ying realized that aside from the made-up story about her parents sacrificing to the heavens, everything else was solid information.

After finishing the original poster’s content, there were various comments below either idolizing or slandering her, which Mu Ying did not continue to read.

Since all postings were anonymous, there were all kinds of comments, creating a messy and unpleasant scene.

This time she had really become famous.

But it wasn’t a big problem; it was just forum banter, where no one could actually reach out and touch anyone else.

She was thankful for forums that only allowed text posts and not pictures, and for anonymity.

Every post could be fabricated, which led to controversies about her from all sides.

For her, it meant nothing was confirmed, and there were always many who remained skeptical.

Compared to the controversies surrounding her personally, Qingshan Town’s reputation had become much better, which would be helpful in attracting settlers in the future; that was indeed a good thing.
