I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 155 - 155 154 Aquatic Animals Transform155: Chapter 154 Aquatic Animals Transform 155: Chapter 154 Aquatic Animals Transform The other half of the Koutao Fishmen, who had gone to extinguish the fire, finally realised they should be afraid after witnessing the tragic state of their companions.

They couldn’t go crazy, they couldn’t go crazy!

They decisively beat a retreat, diving into the Replica gate.

When the wind stopped, the Fishmen, who had been tossed around in the Wind Wall, thudded onto the sandy beach.

Mu Ying held her swords in both hands, the blade going in white and coming out red, reaping the lives of the Fishmen.

...

Surrounded by Fishmen corpses, Mu Ying turned them over with distaste.

The so-called seaweed skirts were nothing more than bundles of unidentifiable black strips of plants covered with a thick layer of white salt coarse enough that she couldn’t even be bothered to pick them up.

She selectively picked out a few level 2 Koutao Fishmen bodies and stuffed them into her Storage Pouch.

She could only ask Tongbi 559 later if there were any valuable materials on the Koutao Fishmen.

The remaining Fishmen had all fled into the replica, and Mu Ying did not pursue them inside.

To be honest, she had limited interest in dungeons, except for her first time in the Mushroom Man Dungeon; her interest waned thereafter.

After all, there wasn’t anything inside she absolutely needed.

As a Lord, despite needing money everywhere in her territory, she herself was quite wealthy and didn’t have many places to spend it.

As a Druid, Natural Father had prepared all the spells; she had to work hard just to learn them, so she didn’t need to find Magic Scrolls or the like in dungeons as some Mages did.

Regardless of whether the Koutao Fishmen were poor or rich, or whether treasures were hidden inside the replica, Mu Ying couldn’t be less concerned.

She planned to handle them just like the Ghouls—come back to cull them periodically to deplete their vitality.

Compared to the unknown treasures within the Fishman Replica, underwater resources were far more important.

But before that, she needed to find a suitable subject to practice her second form of Wild Transformation.

Though Underwater Breathing kept her from drowning, it was clear that aquatic animals were better suited for underwater activities.

As for which animal to mimic, she hadn’t decided yet.

However, based on her experience with Wolf Transformation, she knew that after transforming her body would fully possess the corresponding animal’s traits.

So, she had to be careful in her selection of aquatic animal.

Never mind whether it was a freshwater or saltwater creature, even shallow water and deep sea creatures had their differences.

The ideal would, of course, be an euryhaline aquatic animal, adaptable to both freshwater and saltwater, and equally comfortable in deep and shallow seas.

But she knew of no such creature.

All aquatic animals have their preferred aquatic environments.

Stepping back, what she needed most now were deep sea capabilities; she could temporarily let go of freshwater conditions.

After all, Wild Transformation had no limit on the number of forms; she could learn all the animal shapes she fancied, as long as she was willing.

For the time being, she needed to choose a marine animal.

She couldn’t yet master the transformation of large animals like whales and had to opt for smaller or medium-sized ones.

Mu Ying’s preferred choice was the Dolphin—high in aesthetic appeal, agile, and sometimes even capable of besting sharks.

Sharks of medium to small size, excluding the Whale Shark, were also not bad options, predators of the deep sea; although not as visually appealing as dolphins, they were strong enough.

However, these were all just thoughts; she had to see what she could find.

The vast ocean made it not easy to encounter the specific marine creature she wanted.

Since monsters had emerged on land, who is to say the sea was void of them?

Her options for choice were limited.

So, she didn’t immediately dive in.

Instead, she mounted her broom and flew inland, searching from above for the occasional marine animal that surfaced, a much safer approach than plunging aimlessly into the sea.

But her luck wasn’t very good, as she only encountered a large shark that was beyond her ability to handle.

That evening, she rested on a small Reef island.

The next morning, on a rock on the island, she saw a turtle sunbathing.

Looking at its thick shell, Mu Ying decided it would be the one.

First, she must learn to be a turtle; it would be safer at the bottom of the sea, and, at least with a shell, it would be more convenient for her to observe other marine life.

It would be easier to learn other animal forms later on, which was better than aimlessly searching at sea without purpose.

Mu Ying approached the reef.

The turtle didn’t move at all, showing no reaction.

If not for its shiny little eyes still open, Mu Ying would have thought it was dead.

Its stillness was actually convenient for her observation.

The turtle’s unflappable demeanor was also worth studying.

Mu Ying sat on the reef all day, getting a good idea of what the turtle looked like, but since it never moved, she couldn’t learn anything more, which wasn’t enough to support her Wild Transformation.

So, she took out some fruits and dried meat from her backpack.

Turtles are omnivores, they can eat these.

The solid-looking turtle finally turned its head slightly at the sight of food.

Mu Ying poked an apple with her spear and held it to the turtle’s mouth, “Want to try?”

Assured by the natural aura emanating from her, the turtle stretched its neck and began eating calmly.

While observing and feeding, Mu Ying continued until her hand grew sore and the sight of the turtle eating could no longer offer any enhancement to her turtle form transformation.

Then, she cast animal conversation on herself.

Mu Ying: “Hello?”

Turtle: “...”

Mu Ying: “I’d like to learn how to be a turtle from you.

How about the food I just gave you as tuition?

I can provide for you during the time I follow you.”

Turtle: “...Fine...”

Mu Ying: “How much longer are you planning to sunbathe here?

Don’t you go into the water for food?”

Turtle: “...Full...like...the sun...”

Mu Ying fell silent.

Did she sabotage herself?

Trying to get on good terms, she fed it until it was full.

A turtle that enjoys sunbathing is naturally unwilling to move.

But it wasn’t enough for it to just stay still.

Mu Ying had no choice but to conjure water infused with Recovery Spring, “This is good for you, but after you drink it, you have to show me your daily life.

You can’t just sunbathe; I need to see you swimming, sleeping, hunting, everything.”

Turtle: “Slurp——”

After it leisurely finished the water, it finally began to move.

Half of its body lifted into the air and then plopped down into the water, back first.

Mu Ying: “...”

The turtle paddled calmly for a few strokes and flipped itself upright.

Mu Ying also applied Underwater Breathing and elemental damage resistance on herself and followed.

In the water, the turtle was much more agile than on the reef, and its paddling speed was not bad.

It was Mu Ying’s first time under the sea, and though she had no breathing difficulties, she wasn’t swimming fast.

However, the turtle was generally sinking to the seabed, and she could just keep up.

Then, Mu Ying followed it to the bottom of the sea.

It settled on a rock and closed its eyes.

Mu Ying understood, it was sleeping.

From floating on the water to sinking underwater, eyes open had been replaced with eyes closed.
