I Live on the Land in Global Games

Chapter 169 - 169 168 Gem Fairy169: Chapter 168: Gem Fairy 169: Chapter 168: Gem Fairy After lunch, she took Li Luoxia and the others to see the Quarry Camp, and with that, the tour was over.

For the rest of the time, they could make their own arrangements.

Mu Ying immediately teleported back to the Plantation, heading straight for the Gem Tree.

The only reason she could think of for such significant changes in the Plantation was this tree.

Indeed, the closer she got to the Gem Tree, the greater the changes in the plants became.

However, the Gem Tree itself hadn’t changed much.

Over this period, it had grown from a small sprout to about the height of a shin, with only two branches.

Each branch bore a thick, flat leaf the size of a baby’s fist, resembling emeralds hanging on the branches.

Now a third branch was beginning to show a tiny tip.

On the two grown leaves, a pair of round, big eyes emerged, stealthily watching her.

Mu Ying: “...”

These leaves are so transparent, you’re so close, your hiding is completely ineffective!

She moved the leaves aside, and two thumb-sized people with translucent green wings like those of a dragonfly appeared in front of her.

One of the little people had neat short hair and wore clothes made of mint leaves, while the other wore a dress made of peach blossoms.

Both had dark green curly hair and emerald eyes.

If they didn’t look so different, Mu Ying would have almost thought they were her own Avatars.

Deprived of the shelter of the leaves, the one in the peach blossom dress fluttered her wings and hid behind the one in the mint leaves, peeking out hesitantly, curious yet scared.

The one in front was also a bit scared, trembling slightly.

Mu Ying: ...

Am I really that frightening?

“Gem Fairy, Level 1 tiny spiritual creature, dependent on the Gem Tree for existence, cannot survive long away from the Gem Tree, a darling of nature, born gardener, capable of Water Creation Skill, Dancing Light Technique, entanglement technique, Eternal Illusion, and other Magic-like abilities.

Talent Skills include Charm, Concealment, Natural Nourishment, Magic Infection.”

As expected, it was a spiritual creature born from the Gem Tree, belonging to a race with Talents mostly in planting and self-preservation.

Mu Ying’s attention was drawn to their Magic Infection Skill, which seemed to be inherited from her.

Although they weren’t born from her, they were indeed nurtured by her with great effort, using natural power and her own magic power.

They should be naturally close to her, like her own children.

But during this busy time, she had missed their birth, causing the two little creatures to be somewhat afraid of her now.

She pinched back the Avatar Shi Yin that was trying to get a close look, fearing it might scare them away.

Even though she had the Natural Protection Skill, which made her immune to spiritual creatures’ Charm and Magic-like abilities, they were so small that they could easily hide in any bush or behind the leaves, making them hard to find.

She slowed her breathing, squatted down, released her own aura to blend in with nature, and then cast magic—this was her usual posture when nurturing the Gem Tree.

Having imbued the Gem Tree with her magic power for so long, her magic was extremely familiar to the two Gem Fairies.

When mixed with a trace of natural power, their eyes instantly widened and they nestled into her arms like swallows returning to their nest.

“s@fjh#!”

“s@fjh#!”

Mu Ying understood their affection, but she honestly couldn’t understand what they were saying.

And the two little ones were clearly saying the same word.

But they’re all so cute!

Mu Ying’s eyes brimmed with affection as she gently touched the two little ones.

The Xiao Shiyin figure watched this scene in a daze, feeling thoroughly defeated.

He wanted that too!

His learning ability was extremely strong, perfectly imitating the Gemstone Elf’s actions and posture as he flung himself into Mu Ying’s arms.

Mu Ying pinched the little face of the Xiao Shiyin figure with the thumb and forefinger of both hands, pulling gently on either side.

“Why are you copying them, huh?” After all this time, she had come to understand the nature of this Xiao Shiyin avatar.

It was transformed from a wolf’s hair, not so fragile; although lacking any attack ability, it couldn’t be injured either.

So pinching its face and pulling its ears was basic handling; even Xiao Shiyin couldn’t escape her grasp.

In the starry sky, the cheeks of a certain wolf-eared boy seemed to be tugged by something, pulled from side to side.

It took a while before subsiding, leaving faint finger marks on both sides of his face, his ears burning red.

Shi Yin: ...

How had her girl become so strong?

Mu Ying teased Shi Yin for a while, then let him go, and went on to have a nonsensical conversation with the two little creatures.

They chattered excitedly, but Mu Ying didn’t understand a word.

She glanced at her list of languages: Universal Language, Druid Language, Elf Language.

She couldn’t use any of them.

What language were they speaking?

Goblin Language?

For this, she could only seek the help of the knowledgeable Grandpa Shom, who was probably also interested in the goblins born from the Gem Tree.

Mu Ying looked around.

There seemed to be no birds active here, and the Gem Fairies appeared to be highly dependent on the Gem Tree.

Unsure how long ‘not too long’ meant for their separation from the Gem Tree, she dared not teleport them away.

She took out a piece of paper, wrote down the reason and stuffed it into Gungun’s claws, “Please deliver this to Grandpa Shom for me.”

Gungun, though short-legged, could use the territory’s teleportation function, which was quite suitable.

Soon enough, Grandpa Shom arrived, and Mu Ying hurriedly sought his advice.

“This is the Mu Clan Language.

They’re calling you ‘mommy,’” Shom couldn’t help but chuckle, his gaze towards the little goblins filled with nostalgia and some indecipherable emotions.

“...”

Mu Ying’s face darkened.

Seeing her frustration, Shom consoled her, “You cultivated this Gem Tree and they were born from the energy you provided.

These Gemstone Elves, they are indeed a branch of spiritual creatures born because of you.

You truly are their mother.”

Mu Ying looked “affectionately” at her two “children” and then asked Grandpa Shom, “How do you say ‘call me sister’ in the Mu Clan Language?”

“Haha, I’ll give you this Mu Clan Language Book as a gift.

In return, let me bring a plant over to benefit from the Natural Power that accompanied the birth of the little fairies,” Grandpa Shom pulled out a large book.

“Can they teleport to other places?

If so, if you need anything, you could have them help,” Mu Ying said, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Grandpa Shom waved his hand, “No need, they aren’t pure natural-born goblins.

Your magic has also changed them.

They are most compatible with you.

If my plants were to be affected by their magic, I might have a hard time dealing with it.

So, I’ll just bring my plants over to bask in the natural power active around the Gem Tree.

This way, they won’t get tainted with magic and will only receive the pure benefits.

Moreover, their strength is greatest when they stay near the Gem Tree.

It’s best not to take them away, as it might lead to their death.

You need to protect them well.”

“I will,” Mu Ying nodded solemnly.

It seemed the Gem Fairies were indeed very fragile!

But this language book was such a headache.

She really wished for another language infusion.
