22: Chapter 22 Heading to the Ocean? After leaving the Plain, Lin Sheng’s daily life became leisurely once again.

Giant creatures over a hundred meters long were not something seen everywhere in this era.

Most of what Lin Sheng encountered along the way were still those Little Things less than ten meters long.

For the current Lin Sheng, these Little Things weren’t even enough to fill the gaps between his teeth.

These past few days, Lin Sheng had been thinking about how to find a place with plenty of creatures that weren’t too large in size.

After thinking it over, Lin Sheng found that the Rainforest was still better.

The creatures living there were generally not too large.

Because if they were too big, they wouldn’t be able to move freely through the Rainforest.

Therefore, Lin Sheng planned to continue surviving in the Rainforest for the time being.

Compared to the Sky and the ocean, the Rainforest’s greatest advantage was safety.

Although Lin Sheng had never been to the ocean, he had been to the Sky once.

After that time, he never dared to fly above the Troposphere again.

God knows if there were even more terrifying existences up there besides that monster.

...

Lin Sheng landed beside a lake in the Rainforest.

The fish jumping freely and happily in the lake made Lin Sheng’s mood become quite joyful as well.

Some creatures drinking by the lake saw Lin Sheng descending from the Sky and fled without looking back.

These creatures were generally under ten meters in size; seeing a twenty-five-meter behemoth like Lin Sheng, it would be strange if they didn’t run.

Lin Sheng didn’t chase the fleeing creatures; he turned his gaze toward the lake and began searching for anything suspicious.

After searching for a long time, Lin Sheng didn’t find a large hole at the bottom of the lake like the one in the previous acid lake.

Checking again with Soul Out of Body, there was simply no place to hide large-sized creatures in the lake, aside from some Giant Fish and creatures Lin Sheng couldn’t name.

Seeing this, Lin Sheng finally felt at ease as he extended his head into the water and began gulping down the lake water in large mouthfuls.

The water in the lake this time was normal, and its taste was no different from ordinary water.

”Gulp.”

Lin Sheng swallowed the lake water without stopping, but this lake was much larger than the one he had been in before, and he couldn’t drink all the water at once.

After drinking for over ten minutes and seeing no change in the water level, Lin Sheng stopped in disappointment.

He had originally intended to drink all the water and then go down to catch fish.

But now it seemed that this idea was somewhat ridiculous when facing such a large lake.

Helpless, Lin Sheng had no choice but to go into the water himself to catch fish.

But after a few attempts, Lin Sheng returned to the surface.

He gave up.

Not only was catching fish underwater slow, but he would sometimes be toyed with by the schools of fish.

These fish were incredibly agile in the water, while Lin Sheng’s massive size became a burden there.

”Just you wait, your grandpa here will come and pump water from you every day.”

Lin Sheng spat into the lake in anger.

He marked the lake and then flew toward a nearby protrusion.

That place wasn’t too far from the lake, so Lin Sheng planned to go take a look.

Not long after, Lin Sheng flew to a spot not far from the protrusion.

He discovered that the protrusion was a small mound, covering an area of about a hundred thousand square meters, which wasn’t very conspicuous in this Rainforest.

As soon as he flew near it, Lin Sheng immediately felt some physical discomfort.

He flew a circle around the area and found that there wasn’t a trace of any creature around the mound.

This was a very abnormal occurrence in the Rainforest.

Lin Sheng slowly landed on the mound.

He then discovered that aside from the discomfort, the mound had almost no other effect on him.

But this feeling of discomfort was a bit too strong.

Lin Sheng had only stood on the mound for a few seconds before he couldn’t take it anymore.

He hurriedly moved away from the mound, planning to explore it again after adapting to the outskirts for a while.

...

In a certain lake in the Rainforest, a creature twenty-five meters long was swimming happily inside.

After several days of effort, Lin Sheng had successfully caused the water level of the large lake to drop by a small section.

Not only that, but Lin Sheng had also been frequently going to the mound for ”endurance training” these past few days, with significant results.

Lin Sheng found that after these few days of training, his Deterrence had improved significantly.

For instance, two days ago when facing the schools of fish, they could still find time to toy with him.

But now, when facing those fish, if the contact time was long enough, there was a high probability they would be directly ”scared” unconscious.

Lin Sheng attributed this Deterrence to the results of his training at the mound over the past few days.

After all, he had never encountered such a situation before arriving at the mound.

Picking up a fish that had been ”deterred” into foaming at the mouth, Lin Sheng tossed it into his mouth, then returned to the shore to begin his daily water drinking.

While drinking water, Lin Sheng didn’t forget to observe the situation along the surrounding riverbanks.

For some unknown reason, since his second day of training at that mound, the creatures that used to come to the lake to drink water rarely visited anymore.

And by today, almost no creatures could be seen coming to the lakeside to drink.

The few that did come would immediately spit out the lake water after just a taste and run away.

Unable to figure out why, Lin Sheng could only attribute this to his Deterrence being too strong.

...

Half a month later, Lin Sheng drank the last bit of water in the lake in one go.

Looking at the Giant Fish and some unknown creatures still jumping at the bottom of the pit, Lin Sheng didn’t show them any mercy.

One by one, Lin Sheng swallowed them all into his stomach.

Looking at the Data Panel where his evolution points had returned to a million once again, and his body length reaching 27 meters, Lin Sheng felt satisfied both mentally and physically.

Now he was only 3 meters away from the 30-meter milestone, which made Lin Sheng incredibly excited.

If things went well, Lin Sheng felt he could grow to 30 meters in another month.

But the prerequisite was that he had to find enough easily accessible food.

When he thought of plenty of easily accessible food, the first thing Lin Sheng thought of was a lake.

In his history of making a fortune, three of those times were at a lake or by the lakeside.

Now, Lin Sheng had an inexplicable sense of familiarity with lakes.

”Lakes.”

”The ocean?”

”No!”

Lin Sheng suddenly shook his head vigorously.

An urge to go hunting in the ocean had suddenly risen in his heart.

But as soon as the thought arose, he immediately snuffed it out.

If nothing else, judging by the current situation of the Sky in this world, Lin Sheng was certain that the terrifying creatures in the ocean would definitely not be fewer than those in the Sky.
