Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

41: Chapter 41 The Underground BiofactoryLin Sheng spotted a scorpion about 100 meters long. He slowly extended his mouthparts from the sand and bit down hard on the scorpion’s body.

The hideous mouthparts covered more than half of the scorpion’s body, and the three rows of sharp teeth on them Ground together incessantly.

Lin Sheng had originally thought the Sandworm’s teeth were incredibly sharp, but at this moment, he felt a sense of obstruction from his mouth.

”Du du!”

The Small Scorpion he had bitten struggled non-stop. Relying on its 100-meter body, it actually managed to reach a stalemate with Lin Sheng, the 300-meter giant.

At this moment, Lin Sheng suddenly realized a problem.

Due to some subjective impressions from his past life, he had always thought that Sandworms were highly aggressive creatures.

But after trying it himself, Lin Sheng realized that the reason he could easily subdue this 300-meter Sandworm before might not have been because he was too strong, nor because the creature controlling the Sandworm was cowardly, but because Sandworms had almost no combat power.

He pondered this question in his mind, and ”Omniscience” quickly provided an answer.

”Sandworms are used for extracting liquids; their own combat power is not strong.”

”Ugh.”

Lin Sheng quickly spat out the Small Scorpion he had already half-swallowed, intending to slip away directly.

But after sweeping his consciousness around, Lin Sheng felt that he might as well discard such a useless Sandworm.

Because he discovered that he seemed unable to escape.

By this time, his surroundings were already crowded with countless scorpions.

Dense and packed, large and small, Lin Sheng couldn’t help but gasp.

”Du du du.”

The cries of the scorpions came from all around. Seeing that the entrance to the sand pit was already blocked tight, Lin Sheng simply dove straight into the depths of the pit.

In that bottomless pit, a faint luminescence emerged. Lin Sheng planned to check out the situation inside before the Sandworm’s body was scrapped.

Resources in the desert were so scarce; for the Giant Scorpions to grow so large, they certainly couldn’t do it just by eating meat.

There might be something rich in energy in the depths of the sand pit.

”Zizi.”

Relying on his massive body, Lin Sheng rampaged all the way. Countless Nuclear Energy Rays were fired at him from behind, but because he couldn’t feel pain, Lin Sheng simply ignored these attacks.

Anyway, Lin Sheng no longer planned to keep this body. As long as the body was still functional for now, it didn’t matter.

”Crunch.”

A strange sound rang out from behind Lin Sheng, and he felt his body lighten.

His body didn’t turn around, but his consciousness looked back.

He saw that the Sandworm’s body had visibly shortened by a section. Many Small Scorpions surrounded that section of the Sandworm’s tail, feasting on the flesh.

This scene was nothing short of a humiliation for Lin Sheng.

When he first obtained this Sandworm body, he was thinking that he definitely wouldn’t be as cowardly as the previous host, and that he could certainly take on a 400-meter creature single-handedly.

But before two and a half hours had even passed, he was being chased around by a group of Small Scorpions that averaged only 100 meters.

This was unacceptable to Lin Sheng.

Although the tail section torn off by the Small Scorpions had healed, the Sandworm’s tail section did not regenerate due to insufficient energy.

Seeing the light in the depths getting closer, Lin Sheng controlled the Sandworm to coil its body, then exerted force with its tail, performing a direct catapult start.

Under Lin Sheng’s operation, the Sandworm’s body shot toward the light in the depths of the sand pit like a cannonball.

Seeing Lin Sheng getting further away, those Small Scorpions did not choose to continue the pursuit.

Seeing this, Lin Sheng thought he was safe.

But he flailed in the air for over ten seconds and still hadn’t landed on the Ground.

Lin Sheng realized something was wrong.

Unbeknownst to him when it started, his body was rapidly falling.

The surrounding sand walls were embedded with glowing stones. Lin Sheng had been attracted by these stones just now, which was why he jumped this way.

”How deep is this?”

Lin Sheng wondered in his heart.

”Omniscience” quickly helped him clear up this doubt.

”27,512 meters.”

”Plop!”

Just as he learned the depth of the great pit, Lin Sheng landed at the bottom.

The bottom of the pit was not the solid Ground Lin Sheng had imagined, but a pool of viscous liquid.

The liquid irritated the Sandworm’s body. Although Lin Sheng couldn’t feel pain, he could feel discomfort from these liquids.

Lin Sheng felt this liquid was somewhat familiar.

”Body fluids excreted by a creature, a liquid containing concentrated nuclear energy.”

”These are a creature’s body fluids? What kind of creature can excrete nuclear raw materials?”

Lin Sheng was shocked, but because his connection with this unknown creature was not deep, ”Omniscience” did not provide an answer.

Since ”Omniscience” had no answer, Lin Sheng didn’t pay too much attention to that unknown creature.

After the shock, Lin Sheng discovered that under the nourishment of nuclear energy, the tentacles inside the Sandworm’s body grew wildly, soon covering the Sandworm’s entire body.

The tentacles were like downy fur, floating on the Sandworm’s surface.

Lin Sheng had some difficulty controlling these tentacles, but he could control the Sandworm’s body very easily.

He controlled the Sandworm to swim through the water, wanting to find the Ground.

The area of this pool of biological body fluids was massive, far beyond Lin Sheng’s imagination.

The Sandworm swam in the body fluids, and the tentacles on its body became more numerous and longer due to the nourishment of nuclear energy.

From a distance, the Sandworm at this moment looked like a cluster of caterpillars.

”There’s light ahead!”

After swimming in the body fluids for an unknown amount of time, a bright light suddenly appeared before Lin Sheng’s eyes.

This light was green and many times brighter than the luminescence on the surrounding walls. Lin Sheng spotted this light instantly.

He sped up, spinning the Sandworm’s tail to swim toward the light.

Anyway, he had already planned to abandon the Sandworm’s body; it didn’t matter to him even if there was something dangerous ahead.

The light Lin Sheng saw came from an upward-sloping tunnel. Passing through this tunnel would lead to the source of the light.

Upon approaching this tunnel, Lin Sheng found that it was very large, large enough for him to pass through sideways.

Lin Sheng didn’t hesitate and crawled straight through the tunnel.

Leaving that space with only faint luminescence, Lin Sheng’s vision suddenly brightened.

The view before him suddenly opened up.

This was a massive underground space.

The space was vast, stretching beyond the horizon at a glance.

In the central area of the space, there was a massive unknown creature.

This creature had a streamlined body similar to Lin Sheng’s, but the difference was that countless arthropod-like legs grew on both sides of its body.

The creature had no head; at least, Lin Sheng didn’t find any organ on the creature that could be called a ”head.”

At the front and back of its streamlined body were two thick tentacles. Not only that, the creature’s back was also covered with tentacles.

These tentacles connected to the rock layer at the top. Set against the tentacles, the monster’s body formed a spectacle that seemed to ”prop up the heavens and the earth.”
