Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

35: Chapter 35 The Origins of the Strange Creatures”Any person or thing that is strongly associated with me—as long as I wish to know, I can know.”

As this thought emerged, Lin Sheng couldn’t help but feel a jolt of surprise.

He had originally thought that the ’Omniscience’ talent, like ’oracle’, would have significant restrictions on its use, or at least be something he couldn’t utilize at his current stage.

But he never expected that ’Omniscience’ would actually be a passive talent that could be used at any time.

Now, for any person or thing with a strong connection to Lin Sheng, as long as he willed it, the information he desired would automatically surface in his mind.

”What is the origin of the system?”

After learning the activation mechanism of ’Omniscience’, this question naturally popped into Lin Sheng’s mind.

[Ding]

[I am your father!]

The ’Omniscience’ talent did not provide Lin Sheng with an answer, but the system told Lin Sheng its own ’answer.’

”dog system.”

Lin Sheng cursed the system under his breath.

Ever since Lin Sheng learned about the system’s grading hierarchy, he felt that the system’s level should be above the ’Truth Level’. Therefore, he didn’t take it to heart that ’Omniscience’ couldn’t obtain information about the system.

The reason he cursed the system was entirely because it was trying to claim it was his father.

...

Setting aside the system’s issue, Lin Sheng focused his attention on a problem he had been worried about.

”What are these tentacles on my body?”

「This is a form of chaotic information. This information only acts upon biological organisms. It can cause the information of an organism struck by it to fall into a state of chaos. chaotic information merges with the organism’s root information, making it difficult to eradicate.」

「This chaotic state manifests as: physical aberration of the organism, aberration of consciousness, mental confusion, etc.」

「This information originates from ???」

Because the subsequent information was not strongly associated with Lin Sheng, he was unable to know it.

However, relying solely on this information, the system’s previous descriptions, Eighteen’s prior communication, and the mental boost from ’oracle’, Lin Sheng could roughly deduce the origins of these weird creatures on Earth.

First, it was certain that species like Eighteen, which clearly didn’t look like Earthly life, were originally quite normal organisms.

At least more normal than they were now.

They came from the planet Eighteen had drawn before, and that creature with three bodies was likely what Eighteen originally looked like.

For some reason, the life forms on Eighteen’s planet were struck by an extraterrestrial civilization, causing the organisms on that planet to undergo aberrations.

These distorted creatures likely still possessed some self-awareness in the early stages, which was when they came to Earth.

However, the method by which they came to Earth must have been quite special, to the point that Eighteen had now forgotten the way home.

Logically speaking, if those creatures had the ability to reach Earth, there was no reason the civilization that struck them couldn’t come as well.

But for some unknown reason, the civilization that attacked them did not hunt them to extinction.

The ’low-level civilization’ the system mentioned before was also this civilization; it was only because the system’s level was too high that it referred to them as a low-level civilization.

After connecting the information in his mind, Lin Sheng couldn’t help but feel a flicker of curiosity toward Eighteen.

So far, among the creatures Lin Sheng had seen—whether the native Zerg or the foreign distorted creatures—Eighteen was the only one capable of communication.

Given Eighteen’s origins, it logically shouldn’t possess such high intelligence. But as it stood, the attack seemed to have had no negative impact on Eighteen?

If there was an impact, it was there, but for Eighteen, it looked more like a Positive Evolution.

Thinking of this, Lin Sheng turned his head to look at the massive Eighteen beside him.

「%%# (Eighteen), body length 1534 meters, friendly attitude toward me.」

Because he wasn’t in physical contact with Eighteen, the information Lin Sheng received was very sparse.

He only got Eighteen’s name and its attitude toward him.

Lin Sheng waved a claw at Eighteen, and under Eighteen’s puzzled gaze, Lin Sheng placed his claw on Eighteen’s body.

「Name: %%# (Eighteen)

Race: &# (Qi Hui)

Body Length: 1534

Origin: ???

aberration: positive aberration

Reason for positive aberration: ??? Assistance」

After coming into contact with Eighteen’s body, the information Lin Sheng obtained was significantly more detailed, and it even came with translations.

However, because he hadn’t known Eighteen for long and had no connection to the information regarding Eighteen’s past, Lin Sheng still didn’t understand why Eighteen had undergone a positive aberration.

But it wasn’t a big deal; Lin Sheng’s desire to understand the reason for Eighteen’s aberration was purely out of curiosity anyway.

Withdrawing his claw from Eighteen’s body, Lin Sheng looked up and found Eighteen staring at him.

Seeing that Lin Sheng, who had been busy for half the day, had finally stopped, Eighteen lifted Lin Sheng and brought him before a sand drawing.

This sand drawing was one Eighteen had just made; it depicted a sphere and a box.

Seeing Lin Sheng looking at the sand drawing on the Ground, Eighteen pointed a claw at itself, then pointed at the box next to the sphere.

With the boost from ’oracle’, Lin Sheng understood Eighteen’s meaning in a second.

「It is going to leave.

Eighteen’s habitat is in the region above Earth’s upper atmosphere and below low Earth orbit.

The interference factors there are smaller than on the Ground, making it an excellent place to rest.

Eighteen has an organ that can simply apply gravity and Electromagnetic Force, allowing it to navigate in space.」

After Lin Sheng nodded, Eighteen did not leave immediately.

It grabbed Lin Sheng, rose into the air, and flew off in a certain direction.

Although the desert below was monotonous, Lin Sheng felt a sense of familiarity during the flight.

「The place marked before; the Giant Scorpion is over there.」

It had to be said that ’Omniscience’ was truly useful; Lin Sheng remembered instantly.

This was exactly the place he had marked before.

At the time, his thought was to come back and settle scores with this Giant Scorpion once his strength had increased.

But now, it seemed unnecessary, because Eighteen was clearly heading for this Giant Scorpion.

Just as Lin Sheng expected, after reaching the vicinity, Eighteen let out a roar toward the Sky.

”Zheng!”

The piercing sound of clashing metal caused the surrounding sand to slightly sink.

In the distance, a scorpion tail appeared, shooting straight toward the Sky. Lin Sheng knew the Giant Scorpion had arrived.

「Danger」

Just as this thought emerged, Lin Sheng’s body was tossed away by Eighteen.

”Boom!”

”Zheng zheng!”

A thick pillar of light struck Eighteen from a distance. Fortunately, Eighteen had thrown Lin Sheng out in time, otherwise Lin Sheng’s physical body would have been destroyed.
