Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

46: Chapter 46 The Big FishSomewhere in the unknown deep sea.

Looking at the patches of coral around him, Lin Sheng tentatively took a few bites.

”Ordinary coral, no threat to me.”

”It seems it really is just ordinary coral.”

Through the dual feedback of evolution points and ”Omniscience,” Lin Sheng also knew these corals posed no danger to him.

He then turned his head toward the nearby meteorite.

After sizing up the meteorite against his own body, Lin Sheng opened his mouth as wide as possible.

”Just an ordinary meteorite.”

Seeing the pitifully small amount of evolution points gained, Lin Sheng was slightly disappointed.

He had thought there might be some rare elements within the meteorite and that he might gain a new talent after devouring it.

Now it seemed he had overthought it.

...

The deep sea was pitch black; although Lin Sheng could see clearly, his talent ”Stellar Energy” could not be activated in the depths.

Fortunately, while ”Stellar Energy” couldn’t be used, as long as Lin Sheng opened his mouth in the depths, a large amount of seawater would pour in.

Since seawater contains many trace elements, every mouthful provided Lin Sheng with a few evolution points.

Comparing it to the evolution points provided by ”Stellar Energy,” Lin Sheng was surprised to find that each mouthful of seawater actually provided more points than ”Stellar Energy” did each time.

However, unlike the passive triggering of ”Stellar Energy,” Lin Sheng’s intake of seawater required active effort.

Lin Sheng spent over ten days on the seabed, relying on devouring seawater and eating coral.

During these ten-plus days, besides coral, what Lin Sheng saw most were small, nameless fish.

Although these small fish were dozens of meters long, compared to Lin Sheng’s current size, dozens of meters was indeed considered quite small.

Lin Sheng couldn’t help but doubt the correctness of his choice.

The ocean had always been a mysterious place in Lin Sheng’s mind, but now it seemed the species here weren’t as abundant as those on land.

Holding onto a final glimmer of hope, Lin Sheng decided to leave the area he usually frequented and wander elsewhere.

If there were still no massive creatures in other areas, Lin Sheng would have to give up on the deep sea and return to land to develop.

evolution points...

Lin Sheng was surprised to find that, at some point, the evolution points he gained from devouring seawater had increased.

Just as Lin Sheng was pondering this, information related to it quickly appeared in his mind.

”This sea area contains substances rich in energy.”

Receiving this message, Lin Sheng’s spirit lifted.

He had searched for so long and finally found what he was looking for.

”Where are those energy-rich substances?”

Lin Sheng asked in his mind, but ”Omniscience” gave no answer.

Although ”Omniscience” didn’t respond, Lin Sheng had an intuition.

Although he didn’t know if this intuition was reliable, since he had no clear target, Lin Sheng could only trust this gut feeling.

”Is this intuition of mine coming from ’Omniscience’?”

”Yes.”

Reassured, Lin Sheng followed his intuition, swimming unhurriedly in the direction he felt guided toward.

...

”Danger.”

”Gulu.”

A massive Mouthpart surged out from the silt on the seabed; having been warned, Lin Sheng flapped his three pairs of wings violently, barely dodging the sneak attack from the giant maw.

Recovering, Lin Sheng turned to look, and what met his eyes was a massive fish face.

This Giant Fish was different from ordinary ones.

It had purple skin covered in sharp spikes.

Not just its skin, but the Giant Fish’s back was also covered in spikes, arranged like a row of neat, sharp sawteeth.

On either side of the Giant Fish was a pair of broad fins, their edges also lined with spikes.

These spikes would vibrate incessantly when the Giant Fish attacked; the amplitude of the vibration was so great that the fish could easily slice through its prey’s flesh.

Lin Sheng stared warily at the Giant Fish before him as a brief piece of information surfaced in his mind.

”An extremely aggressive Giant Fish

Body length: 351 meters

Holds strong hostility toward me”

While Lin Sheng was still on guard, the Giant Fish had already launched its second attack.

It extended both fins forward and swam toward Lin Sheng with its mouth wide open.

The Giant Fish’s tail was massive; a slight flick was enough to propel it a great distance.

Although Lin Sheng had lived in the water for over ten days and had adapted to it.

He was still at a disadvantage in terms of speed when facing this true aquatic creature.

The Giant Fish bit down directly on Lin Sheng’s right claw and the half of his body connected to it.

Lin Sheng struggled hard, but due to the significant size difference and the Giant Fish’s dense teeth, it was basically impossible to break free once bitten.

After biting Lin Sheng, the Giant Fish’s forward-extended fins came into play.

The spikes on the fins vibrated rapidly; despite some resistance, the fins pierced into Lin Sheng’s body.

Dark purple blood gushed from Lin Sheng’s wounds, and the smell of blood stimulated the Giant Fish, making it even more frenzied.

The Giant Fish’s fins on both sides exerted sudden force, and two bone-deep wounds instantly appeared on Lin Sheng’s abdomen.

But in the next second, countless Tentacles surged out from Lin Sheng’s wounds.

Without Lin Sheng even using evolution points, the Tentacles repaired his wounds.

However, unlike normal healing, the part healed by the Tentacles looked out of place with Lin Sheng’s original skin.

But with the battle at a stalemate, Lin Sheng didn’t notice this.

The pain coming from his body made Lin Sheng very angry.

Several bolts of lightning, worth a hundred thousand evolution points, were fired from beneath his wings. The lightning hit the Giant Fish, but it wasn’t the result Lin Sheng expected.

After being hit by the lightning, the Giant Fish’s body reacted as if it had merely been scratched; it just thrashed its tail a few times, and that was it.

Lin Sheng was puzzled.

”The Giant Fish’s body is insulated.”

He immediately stopped the useless lightning attacks and instead pointed the tip of his tail at the Giant Fish. A powerful Nuclear Energy Ray shot from the tip of his tail, instantly hitting the Giant Fish’s body.

”Gulu gulu.”

Due to the pain, several clusters of bubbles emerged from the Giant Fish’s gills on both sides, but it still bit down hard on the right half of Lin Sheng’s body, refusing to let go.

Lin Sheng had no choice but to use the Nuclear Energy Ray to strike the Giant Fish again.

This time, the Nuclear Energy Ray hit the Giant Fish’s head directly.

”Gugu gugu!”

The Giant Fish emitted a series of bubbles in pain.

Lin Sheng’s attack completely enraged the Giant Fish.

A strong vibration came from the right half of his body, and Lin Sheng was startled.

”Oh no!”

”I am in danger.”

Lin Sheng sensed the danger immediately, and ”Omniscience” gave a warning instantly, but it was too late.

Once a Giant Fish bites its prey, unless it dies, no prey can escape its mouth intact.

Lin Sheng was no exception this time.

The intense vibration made the Giant Fish’s mouth act like two rows of sharp chainsaws; piercing pain radiated from the left half of Lin Sheng’s body.

This wave of pain was like a fine needle, stabbing directly into Lin Sheng’s consciousness.

”Gugu!”

Lin Sheng roared in anger, but being at the bottom of the sea, his roar turned into an indistinct whimper.

He watched with his own eyes as half of his body was bitten off by the Giant Fish.

Dark purple blood surrounded this sea area; many smaller creatures didn’t even dare touch Lin Sheng’s blood. Facing this pool of eerie blood, all they could do was flee in panic.

But there were some bold ones that didn’t flee; instead, they lingered at the edge of the battlefield, enjoying this hard-won delicacy.

Lin Sheng watched helplessly as the Giant Fish swallowed his flesh; this time, he was completely enraged.

In the past, it was always him devouring others; the only time he was devoured was when he devoured himself.

Now, an inferior Giant Fish could actually eat him.

In his extreme rage, Lin Sheng decided to use evolution points to repair his body first, then properly deal with this Giant Fish.

But before he could issue an order to the system, countless Tentacles instantly surged from his ghastly wound.

Amidst the twisting and intertwining of the Tentacles, a right arm composed entirely of Tentacles had already replaced Lin Sheng’s original one.
