Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

15: Chapter 15 O Tide, I Have ReturnedLin Sheng, who was in the middle of the sea of fire, flapped his wings and easily flew out of the fire’s range.

In fact, looking at the current situation, this wasn’t really a sea of fire at all.

But those flames were like maggots on a bone, burning whatever they caught; Lin Sheng couldn’t guarantee that this place wouldn’t become a sea of fire in a while.

”Should I do something about it?”

Lin Sheng thought to himself.

Logically speaking, given the rainforest setting where a heavy rainstorm occurs every few days, even if Lin Sheng didn’t stop it, the fire wouldn’t burn for too long.

At most, it would last for three to five days.

Wait, three to five days!

Lin Sheng felt it would be better to handle it.

If the fire really burned for three to five days, the creatures in the vicinity would have long since vanished.

Even if some didn’t run, they would have been burned to nothingness.

Moreover, with the fire constantly burning here, a sense of unease lingered in Lin Sheng’s heart.

Although he didn’t know where this unease came from, he knew how to dispel it.

And that was to extinguish this forest fire.

Thinking of this, Lin Sheng quickly flew to a spot not far from the sea of fire and began to construct a firebreak.

Lin Sheng’s body, over twenty meters long, allowed him to easily uproot trees thirty to forty meters tall.

...

While Lin Sheng was still fighting the fire, he was unaware that he had already been targeted by several malicious gazes from within the clouds.

The bodies of the owners of these gazes were somewhat similar to ”parachutes.”

They had ”water droplet” shaped bodies; in their normal state of activity, the large end of the ”droplet” was at the top, and the small end was at the bottom.

Their ”heads” grew at the small end of the droplet, suspended by a long neck.

The ”heads” were cone-shaped, with bone-spur-like things exposed on the outside, protecting the ”head” while also being able to deal sufficient damage to prey.

At the large end of the droplet grew a thick tentacle and four wings distributed in a cross shape.

The end of the tentacle was connected to a strange ”sarcoma.”

That was the organ the monsters used to observe the outside world; one could say it was an eye.

Let’s call these monsters ”Droplet Scatter” for now. (’Dro’ is taken from water droplet, and ’Scatter’ is a homophone for umbrella.)

The activity range of Droplet Scatters is concentrated below the troposphere, with a body length generally around thirty meters.

They are social creatures, with group members usually numbering around 50.

These few Droplet Scatters were originally members of a group, but some time ago, a nine-bodied monster came to their habitat and hunted more than thirty of their kin.

Fortunately, that monster had now left, and these few Droplet Scatters only then dared to come out in a group to forage.

Perhaps the heavens took pity on them; as soon as they came out, they encountered a creature over 20 meters long.

This creature was Lin Sheng.

Although the abilities Lin Sheng had just shown made him look like someone not to be trifled with,

at this moment, the Droplet Scatters were already blinded by hunger and wouldn’t consider Lin Sheng’s combat power at all.

Besides, even when they were clear-headed, they wouldn’t care about the combat power of a creature like Lin Sheng, who was even smaller than them.

After all, Lin Sheng was a solitary creature, while they were social ones.

Many against one, no matter how you looked at it, the odds were on their side.

In mid-air, after seeing that Lin Sheng had ”eaten his fill,” the few Droplet Scatters glanced at each other.

”Lue lue lue.”

”Ou ou ou.”

”Lue ou ou.”

...

Several strange sounds rang out in the clouds; Lin Sheng, who had just finished digging the firebreak, looked up in confusion and saw several monster creatures slightly larger than himself diving toward him.

These monsters were exceptionally ugly, and their cries were exceptionally unpleasant, making Lin Sheng lose any desire to fight them.

Mainly because they were numerous, and Lin Sheng was afraid he couldn’t win.

The moment he discovered those monsters, Lin Sheng did a kip-up and scrambled off the ground.

He wanted to take off and fly away, but he then realized that his front, back, left, right, and above were each blocked by a Droplet Scatter.

”It seems this battle is unavoidable.”

Lin Sheng focused his attention, ready to face a sudden attack from the Droplet Scatters at any moment.

From the time he arrived in this world until now, he had basically evolved by scavenging; he had never experienced a formal battle.

He would take this opportunity to train his combat abilities.

If he really couldn’t win, Lin Sheng could also use the invincibility frames during Evolution to hold out for a while.

”System, refill my acid.”

[Ding]

The system’s voice in his ear put Lin Sheng slightly at ease; before the Droplet Scatters could attack him, he pulled up a large tree that was still burning fiercely nearby.

In later generations, there was the saying: ’A mop dipped in feces is like Lu Bu reborn.’

Now there was a burning tree, like a god descending to the mortal realm.

Lin Sheng brandished the ”heavenly god great club” in his hand and took the initiative to attack the Droplet Scatter in front of him.

”Lue lue lue.”

Facing the flames that made it feel uncomfortable, that Droplet Scatter did not choose to tank it.

It flapped its wings a few times and nimbly dodged to the side.

Seeing Lin Sheng’s clumsy attacking style, the few Droplet Scatters all felt relieved.

They once again formed a surrounding formation, trapping Lin Sheng within the circle.

After the first attack failed, Lin Sheng, holding the burning ”heavenly god great club” in mid-air, did not act rashly.

He didn’t move, but those Droplet Scatters did.

They used their drill-like heads to attack Lin Sheng’s head, back, and wings respectively.

”Ding.”

”Screech.”

”Crack.”

A wound was carved into Lin Sheng’s wing, but his head and back were completely unharmed.

Not only that, the Droplet Scatter that attacked his back actually had several of its bone spurs broken by the shock from his back.

After this instance of defense, Lin Sheng gained a rough understanding of his body’s toughness.

He was thinking just now that if his body couldn’t withstand the attacks of these monsters, he would immediately undergo Evolution.

But Lin Sheng seemed to have underestimated his own strength.

Although his body length was not as great as those Droplet Scatters, he had a Balance Grade talent related to his body.

Even if the unlocking progress of this talent was only 1%, it was not something that a few creatures less than 50 meters long could easily break through.

Now that he knew the monsters didn’t pose much of a threat to him, Lin Sheng’s desire to fight became intense.

He looked at the Droplet Scatters surrounding him, a wicked grin appearing at the corner of his mouth.

”Oh tide, I have returned.”

Holding the ”heavenly god great club,” Lin Sheng began to spin rapidly.

At the same time, Strong Acid and venom were spat from his mouth as if they cost nothing.

A fire dragon, with Lin Sheng as the center, began to spin within the battlefield.
