Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

39: Chapter 39 Parasites”Can I undergo Evolution again?”

The system prompt was unexpected, but Lin Sheng could guess the content of this Evolution.

Nuclear Energy Ray.

He had just swallowed the tail hook used by the Giant Scorpion to fire its Nuclear Energy Ray, and then he reached the Evolution conditions, so this Evolution must be for the Nuclear Energy Ray.

At the thought that he could soon be like Godzilla, constantly unleashing Nuclear Breath, Lin Sheng felt a surge of excitement.

He couldn’t help but speed up his eating, intending to finish off the Giant Scorpion remains on the ground within a day.

Although the Evolution time only took one day, Lin Sheng couldn’t guarantee whether any powerful creatures would come by after that day.

...

”Refreshing!”

As the sun slanted westward, Lin Sheng had almost finished off the Giant Scorpion, and the Desert that had been pressed down by the Giant Scorpion corpses was now exposed.

Giant Scorpion body fluids were left everywhere on this patch of sand.

These body fluids were also very thick, but unlike the Nuclear Fuel in the Giant Scorpion’s brain, these body fluids would take a few days.

Lin Sheng looked at those liquids, his eyes suddenly narrowing.

He felt that the speed at which those body fluids were seeping into the sand was a bit off.

Was something absorbing these body fluids?

Lin Sheng flashed to the most unusual spot in his eyes, bared his claws, and thrust them directly into that patch of sand.

Just as his claws inserted, Lin Sheng felt the sensation of piercing flesh.

Without a word, his second claw followed closely behind.

Then he pulled hard.

”Wa-wa!”

A strange cry rang out from the mouth of the creature Lin Sheng was holding, and Lin Sheng looked closely.

Yoho, he recognized this thing.

Although he had never seen this creature in this world, he had learned about it on Earth in his past life.

The length of the creature Lin Sheng was holding was unknown, but at the shortest, it wouldn’t be less than one hundred meters.

It was long and strip-shaped, with dark grey skin and a smooth surface resembling sand; its mouth had three lips, each with sharp teeth.

This was a Sandworm.

After being caught by Lin Sheng, the Sandworm kept crying out ”wa-wa” incessantly.

Seeing that it only cried and had no aggressiveness, Lin Sheng simply dragged the Sandworm backward, intending to see how long it was.

”Wa-wa!”

The Sandworm struggled violently; Lin Sheng felt that it wanted to burrow back into the sand.

But against Lin Sheng, who had just replenished his nuclear energy, its struggles were completely ineffective.

”Ga!”

When Lin Sheng had retreated a certain distance, he found that the Sandworm suddenly stopped moving.

Just like that, so suddenly.

It suddenly died.

Lin Sheng was surprised; he lifted the Sandworm and shook it, finding that it was truly dead.

Dragging the Sandworm completely out of the sand, Lin Sheng found that its tail looked as if it had been severed, a mangled mess of flesh and blood.

He felt that this scene was somewhat familiar.

”The ’Devil Ray’ was like this when it died too.”

Lin Sheng remembered.

In Lin Sheng’s previous guess, the ”Devil Ray” was a Parasite.

And the situation of the Sandworm before him was similar to that of the ”Devil Ray”; did that mean the Sandworm, like the Devil Ray, was also a Parasite?

Lin Sheng thought to himself, trying to get an answer from ”Omniscience.”

”Omniscience” did not disappoint him, and a piece of information surfaced in his heart.

”Both the ’Devil Ray’ and the Sandworm are Parasites; they are controlled by the same Main Body.”

”As expected.”

Lin Sheng nodded understandingly.

He looked at the dead Sandworm again, and a sudden thought occurred to him.

He estimated this Sandworm to be over 300 meters long.

”314 meters.”

A 314-meter Sandworm, when parasitized by the previous Main Body, could only flee when facing a creature like Lin Sheng, who was less than 150 meters long.

But for a 314-meter Sandworm, if the Main Body parasitizing it was Lin Sheng...

Lin Sheng felt that even against a 400-meter creature, he would dare to let the Sandworm charge.

...

With a thought, the Tentacles at the back of Lin Sheng’s head suddenly grew wildly.

These Tentacles intertwined and pounced on the Sandworm corpse on the ground.

The Tentacles seemed soft, but they inserted into the Sandworm’s body without any hindrance.

The Sandworm’s corpse twitched once and then became still.

The Tentacles continued to roam inside the Sandworm, but Lin Sheng felt it wasn’t enough.

At this moment, the Scales on his back stood up one by one, and countless Tentacles surged from the base of the Scales, inserting into the Sandworm’s body along with the Tentacles from the back of his head.

Suddenly, Lin Sheng felt a surge of hunger.

What was going on?

Lin Sheng was startled; he felt something was wrong.

He hadn’t felt this kind of hunger when parasitizing the ”oracle” before, but now, just parasitizing a slightly larger low-level creature, the hunger was actually this strong.

”The ’oracle’ is small and an internal Parasite, so it only consumes mental power.”

”The Sandworm is massive and an external Parasite, resulting in huge consumption.”

Lin Sheng glanced at the surrounding sand.

Aside from a few remaining pieces of the Giant Scorpion, there was nothing else on the ground.

Lin Sheng tossed those few remains into his mouth, but the hunger still persisted.

Feeling the hunger coming from his body and looking at the sand beneath his feet contaminated by the Giant Scorpion’s body fluids, Lin Sheng had an idea.

He lowered his head and inhaled sharply, and under the effect of this airflow, the surrounding sand was drawn into his mouth one after another.

Lin Sheng swallowed a large amount of body fluids containing nuclear energy along with the sand, and his hunger eased considerably.

Although sand provided no evolution points, it was plentiful and filling.

By the time Lin Sheng stood in a two-hundred-meter sand pit, his parasitism of the Sandworm was complete.

The Tentacles parasitizing the Sandworm’s body then detached from Lin Sheng’s body one after another.

But before Lin Sheng could even be happy, countless Tentacles grew back on his body, making up for the ones he had lost.

Subconsciously stroking the Tentacles at the back of his head, Lin Sheng then turned his attention to the Sandworm.

As soon as his attention focused on the Sandworm, Lin Sheng had a strange feeling.

He felt as if he possessed a second body.

This body had many differences from Lin Sheng’s own body, the biggest difference being the issue of vision.

The Sandworm had no eyes.

If Lin Sheng didn’t rely on his original body, he would be like a blind person when controlling the Sandworm’s movements.

But quickly, as Lin Sheng adapted to the Sandworm’s body, this blind-like feeling rapidly faded away.

God closed a door for the Sandworm, but He thoughtfully opened a window for the creatures that can parasitize it.

Lin Sheng discovered that although the Sandworm had no visual organs, its Perception was extremely strong.

Its skin was like a natural Sensor, absorbing information from the surroundings at all times.

Relying on his powerful consciousness, even if Lin Sheng didn’t focus on controlling the Sandworm’s body, he could still seek benefits and avoid harm.

”Very good.”

Lin Sheng was very satisfied with the Sandworm’s situation.

After all that tossing and turning, Lin Sheng realized it was almost dawn.

He suddenly remembered that it seemed he still had an Evolution opportunity left.

Lin Sheng first checked his evolution points balance.

Lin Sheng briefly planned the use of his evolution points.

Now that his funds were ample, Lin Sheng’s gambler’s heart was stirred once again.

He intended to use 10,000,000 for Evolution, 10,000,000 for a Lucky Draw, and keep the remaining 10,000,000 or so as a reserve.

”System, give me a Natural Grade ten-pull first.”

The next moment, the system prompt rang in Lin Sheng’s ear.

[Ding]

[Consuming 10,000,000 evolution points, Lucky Draw begins]

After the system’s voice fell, a Light Screen appeared before Lin Sheng’s eyes, and the Lucky Draw information surfaced on the screen.

[Congratulations to the Host for obtaining: evolution points * 500,000 (x5)]

[Congratulations to the Host for obtaining: talent evolution card (Natural Grade) * 3]

[Congratulations to the Host for obtaining: Far Ahead * 1]

[Congratulations to the Host for obtaining the Talent: Semiconductor (Natural Grade). You have become a Semiconductor creature.]

Looking at the Lucky Draw information on the Light Screen, Lin Sheng felt that this draw was truly a bit abstract.

Setting ”Far Ahead” aside for now, that ”Semiconductor” directly left Lin Sheng silent for a long time.

He was an Alien Beast; what use was being a Semiconductor?

Sacrifice himself to serve as wires for those Technological Civilizations?

”Sigh.”

Sighing to himself, Lin Sheng could only pin his hopes on those three talent evolution cards.

”System, what is the function of the talent evolution card?”

[Ding]

”It can allow talents below the Natural Grade to undergo Evolution into the Natural Grade.”

Just as the system was about to answer, ”Omniscience” directly surfaced the information in Lin Sheng’s heart.

Lin Sheng felt a bit embarrassed.
