Devouring Evolution: Devouring Nuclear Bombs at the Start

40: Chapter 40 Harvesting ”Evolution Points”The system remained silent for a long time.

Lin Sheng didn’t say a word, lying there quietly waiting for the system’s response.

After a long while, the system spoke again.

[Ding]

[From now on, matters related to the system, including but not limited to talent information, cannot be detected using illegal means.]

[If the Host wishes to know such information, it can be obtained by inquiring with the system.]

The system’s voice was very calm, as if it hadn’t been affected by ”Omniscience” just now.

But Lin Sheng knew in his heart that during the time the system was silent, it must have been pondering these things.

Although information about the system was now hidden by the system itself, Lin Sheng didn’t think it was a big deal.

Anyway, the system had said that information related to it could be asked for.

Whether the answer came from ”Omniscience” or the system didn’t matter to Lin Sheng; in fact, he felt the system’s own answers might be more comprehensive.

After all, ”Omniscience” was only Truth Level, but the system could hand out Truth Level items at every turn, so its own level must be above Truth Level.

”Omniscience” wasn’t omnipotent; it was better for the system to explain things related to itself personally.

...

Putting aside the system’s issues, Lin Sheng began to focus his attention on the rewards from this lottery draw.

Looking at the ”Far Ahead” that appeared before him, which was the size of a grain of rice to him, Lin Sheng swallowed it in one gulp out of spite.

For this thing, Lin Sheng had only one evaluation: a piece of trash wearing a Natural Grade cloak.

Oh, it was even charged.

“System, is there a way to fuse the two talents ’Poison Fangs’ and ’Venom Spit’?”

These two talents were highly related, and Lin Sheng felt they should be able to merge into a single talent.

Moreover, these two talents were quite useful. With three talent evolution cards, Lin Sheng felt it would be a bit of a loss to use two of them just to evolve these two talents separately.

[It is possible.]

[Requires the consumption of 10,500 evolution points.]

“Alright then, let’s fuse the two talents during this Evolution.”

To the current Lin Sheng, 10,000 evolution points were not worth mentioning at all; he agreed without a second thought.

“System, begin the Evolution.”

“Use the Evolution opportunity obtained previously.”

“Use 10 million evolution points for a normal Evolution.”

“Use talent evolution cards to evolve the talents: Mark Tracking, Static Electricity, and the fused talent.”

After Lin Sheng’s command was given, the system’s notification sound rang in his ears.

[Ding]

[This Evolution will last for 47 solar days of this planet. Please wait patiently, Host.]

After the system’s voice faded, Lin Sheng began his Evolution.

...

After Lin Sheng’s main body fell into a dormant state, his Sandworm parasite began to move.

Lin Sheng suspended his consciousness above the Sandworm, serving as its eyes.

He controlled the Sandworm, and its body slowly began to move.

While controlling the Sandworm, Lin Sheng didn’t feel any awkwardness.

Under this control, Lin Sheng and the Sandworm were like a player and a character.

Although Lin Sheng also possessed the Sandworm’s senses, he didn’t become the Sandworm’s consciousness to control it; instead, like a player, he controlled the Sandworm’s actions from a third-person perspective.

Simply put, Lin Sheng was ”driving” the Sandworm.

He controlled the Sandworm to leave this place and burrow toward the large sand pit where the Giant Scorpion had previously stayed.

The boss, the Giant Scorpion, was dead. Lin Sheng planned to harvest those ”evolution points” in the sand pit once his own Evolution was complete.

But before that, he needed to investigate the situation inside the cave.

Although Lin Sheng hadn’t seen any big fellows other than the Giant Scorpion when he lit up the sand pit with fire back then,

he felt it was because the Giant Scorpion was simply too large.

The Giant Scorpion was over two thousand meters long; even a three-hundred-meter-long scorpion would be a tiny speck in front of it.

Lin Sheng’s trip to the sand pit this time was to see exactly what the situation was inside.

If all the other scorpions besides the Giant Scorpion were just ”evolution points,” Lin Sheng would go straight to harvest them after completing his Evolution.

But if there were still big fellows inside, Lin Sheng would have to think of another way.

In any case, with his current size, he would have no problem protecting himself in the sand pit now that the Giant Scorpion was dead.

He could go to the sand pit every few days to scavenge some benefits.

This way, Lin Sheng could keep growing while those scorpions would become fewer and fewer.

Over time, as one side waxed and the other waned, Lin Sheng would eventually wipe out all those ”evolution points” in one go.

When that time came, Lin Sheng planned to return to that strange Plain from before.

Although he didn’t know what exactly was on that Plain, any place Eighteen would go to definitely had good things.

Thinking this, before he knew it, Lin Sheng had already arrived at the entrance of the sand pit.

The entrance faced east, and as the morning sunlight shone into the pit, the situation inside was completely visible at this moment.

The commotion from the battle between the Giant Scorpion and Eighteen had been massive, and the vast majority of scorpions in the pit had been startled into leaving.

Those remaining at the bottom of the pit were all big fellows; Lin Sheng estimated none of them were under a hundred meters.

Just how big was the largest of these scorpions?

Lin Sheng wondered in his heart, and the next moment, the answer surfaced in his mind.

「The longest scorpion has a length of 271 meters.」

Getting this information, Lin Sheng felt relieved.

Lin Sheng felt that after completing his Evolution, he could reach at least 200 meters.

With a 200-meter body facing a 271-meter scorpion, and possessing many overpowered talents, Lin Sheng felt that if he still couldn’t win, he might as well just restart his life.

“Zizi.”

Just as Lin Sheng stopped at the mouth of the sand pit to observe, a Nuclear Energy Ray flashed out from the pit. Before Lin Sheng could react, the Sandworm’s body took a hit.

The spot hit by the Nuclear Energy Ray was charred black, but Lin Sheng didn’t feel the slightest bit of pain.

Many tentacles suddenly sprouted from the charred area, and the wound healed very quickly.

“Wawa!”

Lin Sheng controlled the Sandworm to let out a roar.

Although the roar was completely useless against these scorpions, Lin Sheng felt it was very imposing.

As if provoked by Lin Sheng’s roar, in the next second, countless Nuclear Energy Rays shot toward Lin Sheng’s Sandworm body.

“Zizi.”

“Zizizi!”

Lin Sheng quickly controlled the Sandworm to dive into the sand, but his reaction was still a bit slow. The back half of the Sandworm’s body had become a bloody mess under this round of concentrated fire.

Once Lin Sheng had completely burrowed into the sand, the scorpion swarm lost their target. Having no target, the scorpions settled back into silence.

Lin Sheng hid under the sand, quietly approaching the scorpion swarm. He intended to test what kind of combat power the Sandworm could exert under his control.
