Chapter 1600: Intruder?

”Fire!” Incetta raised her hand.

The soldiers changed the signal, transmitting her order to their ships.

Multiple runes got activated, sending not only the Rain of Light Rune but also the Meteor Rune.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

A series of explosions occurred, causing massive devastation to the right side of the demon army. In addition, her city was also adding more firepower.

On the other side, Tristan and Howard did the same thing. They blasted the demons and kept their track intact, allowing them to continue.

As a result, the demons reached the killing zone that had been prepared specifically for them.

What awaited them was a dead end and 16 airships.

Grandel waved his hand. ”Kill them all!”

The demons would soon find the genius within Noelʼs strategy. All this time, Noel had been creating one city after another, but it was for the sake of the fortification.

The northern territory was filled with natural terrain. On the right side, there was a mountain range. On the other side ran a river.

Hence, Noel built a fortress around the mountain range so that the demons wouldnʼt be able to climb the mountain range to escape.

With the help of the airships and the natural terrain, the demons would choose a much easier path.

However, the other side was not that easy either. After all, there was a 40-meter-wide river. They had expanded the river slightly to increase the size.

And with Incettaʼs specialty, no demons could cross the river easily. At most, only flying beasts would be able to escape.

However, no land demons, including the plant-type demons, were able to cross the river.

With the momentum of the demon army, the demons had no choice but to continue forward.

That was right. They had no choice but to enter the killing zone.

As soon as they entered, they would be massacred from all directions.

Countless demons died due to this arrangement.

When Rui witnessed the massacre, she couldnʼt help but feel impressed. ʼAs expected of Master. He manages to create a killing zone by taking advantage of the natural terrain.ʼ

Rui looked to the left. ʼThey are able to lead the demons by using the airships. So, this is the outer fortification.ʼ

She had seen the fortification map. Due to the mountains all around the territory, they were able to create a small labyrinth and fill it with killing zones.

ʼThe demons that will die in this place will definitely exceed anyoneʼs imagination.ʼ Rui muttered inwardly.

It was truly amazing. ʼI remember someone telling me about the battle that took place a few years ago when the territory had just been built. They struggled against 75,000 demons.

ʼBut looking at this fortification, it wonʼt be weird if this place alone can annihilate a million demons.ʼ

Rui shook her head helplessly. ʼThere are still a lot of things I can learn from Master. Still, the demons definitely wonʼt just get beaten down like this. They must be preparing for something.ʼ

There were so many demons here, so there must be a leader.

However, what she expected never came. The ancient demons that were supposed to be the commanders of this army never appeared.

ʼWhatʼs going on?ʼ Rui squinted her eyes. She came out of her room to check with Grandel.

”Grandel. Have you seen any ancient demons?” Rui asked.

”Miss Rui.” Grandel politely bowed. ”I havenʼt seen one. I thought it was just me, but it looked like you also noticed something wrong.”

”Yes. The demons shouldnʼt be cowards. They will try to overwhelm us, so itʼs weird not to see a single ancient demon.”

”…” Grandel thought for a moment. ”What if the demons are trying to fight us in a different way? For example, gauging our strength with this initial attack?”

”!!!” Rui hadnʼt considered this possibility before. If it were true, the demons were willing to spend so many lives to calculate their strength. And after realizing their cards, the demons would invade humanity by avoiding those strengths.

In other words, they might have revealed this killing zone too early.

”This…” Rui clenched her hands into fists. ”Have we been outsmarted by the demons?”

”I am not so sure. If itʼs our lord, he might have predicted this, or so I believe. Or why would he even send you here? After all, Miss Incetta is here. And Young Master Tristan should have a trump card that can fight an ancient demon. I just donʼt believe the lord places him here without thinking about his safety.”

”Thatʼs true as well.” Rui also wanted to believe the same thing, but she couldnʼt help but worry.

In the end, this was the final assault. The demons must have prepared for everything.

In other words, this battle would be decided by who had prepared more.

When Rui was deep in thought, she suddenly noticed a powerful presence coming from the north.

”!!!” Rui turned around and released her own energy. It looked like Incetta had sensed that presence as well.

”Grandel. Handle the problem here. Weʼve got company.”

”Y-Yes?” Grandel didnʼt know, but it looked serious as both Incetta and Rui reacted.

Rui leaped off the airship, while Incetta jumped from her cityʼs wall.

Both of them headed in the same direction.

They looked at each other as if asking, ʼYou feel it too?ʼ

Both of them released their power as they approached the powerful presence. Ruiʼs fist was shining, and Incettaʼs sword had been covered by a fluid bluish aura.

They attacked the incoming silhouette behind the tree. The latter waved her hand as well, using her claws to counter their power.

”!!!” Incetta and Rui were surprised because she was actually able to stop their attacks at the same time.

”You demon!” Incetta and Rui leaped back to regain some distance as well as to see what kind of monster they were fighting against.

To their surprise, this didnʼt look like a monster. Instead, she looked like a human, but they could see a few animal features that werenʼt supposed to grow from a human.

”What the hell are you two doing-nya?! I am not a demon-nya! I am Phantom, Sir Noelʼs ally-nya! Sir Noel often rubbed my belly-nya (he did not).”
