Chapter 1598: Air Superiority

”It’s coming! Get ready!”

The fortress was standing strong in the Atracaeca Kingdom. Despite their current situation, they had no intention of backing down.

There was another reason. A great protector led them. Since the great protector was standing in front of them, they would be willing to fight to the very end.

Still, numerous demons were coming their way. Their fortress might be great, but they were far from enough to fight against hundreds of thousands of demons.

However, the great protector remained resolute. He shouted, ”No need to hold anything back. We will survive this ordeal. All the slaves who manage to survive this ordeal will be freed. I will use everything in my power to make sure that you are freed.”

Since there were so many demons, they had no choice but to employ everyone, including slaves. It was the only way to make up their numbers.

The battle abruptly changed when they suddenly saw incoming airships. There were five airships moving in a formation.

”Sir?! That’s...”

The great protector squinted his eyes, wondering what the airships were planning to do, only to be shocked by the firepower the airships could provide.

The five airships suddenly drifted to the right as multiple runes appeared. Each airship was activating 6 Rain of Light Runes.

With a combined 30 Rain of Light Runes, the light balls that were shot from the airships were in the hundreds per second.

These hundreds of light beams were basically annihilating the countless demons in their way.

*Roar!*

*Roar!*

The demons were roaring and trying to dodge the attack, but the airships were adjusted to match their movements.

More and more demons were falling down.

”Amazing.”

”So many demons are going down just like that?”

”This is too strong.”

The soldiers were dumbfounded. There were over a hundred thousand demons coming to their fort, but thanks to the airships, it was going down rapidly.

From their rough calculation, they realized that ten thousand demons had died in the first minute. If this continued, they would definitely be able to massacre their opponents.

Still, among those demons, there were very strong ones, especially the superior demons. There were at least 12 superior demons among them.

These superior demons were heading straight toward the airships.

However, they wouldn’t be a match against the airships and the Demon Banner Army.

”Get ready!” A woman stood in front of the airship while raising her hand. ”Release the Honor Bearer Runes. Get ready to kill those Superior Demons.”

”Oohh!”

The soldiers of the Demon Banner Army had very high morale, as this was the first time they had killed so many demons so easily.

They were eager to show their strength as well, especially the three captains that she had brought.

With the support of the Honor Bearing Rune, the people’s strength was amplified tremendously.

In the past, the Demon Banner Army was known for being elite, but thanks to this rune, they would be known as monsters.

The three captains simply jumped off the airships, while other soldiers who were strong enough would follow them. They were engaging the demons fiercely.

However, Milfa remained unmoved. She was observing the entire situation and didn’t seem to have any plans of taking action just yet.

Before coming here, she got a warning from Oscar.

”Milfa. Don’t underestimate your opponent this time. The demon kings should know our strength, but if he still launches an attack, it means he has enough confidence to win.

”There can only be two things that will allow him to win. Either he has enough numbers to overwhelm us completely or he has enough high-ranking demons to overpower our officers. That’s why people like us need to conserve their strength as much as possible.”

Milfa understood Oscar’s worry. It looked like Oscar believed the latter was the most likely possibility. Even if they didn’t have high-ranking demons, it was never too late to release all their strength to eliminate the demons.

Hence, Milfa continued observing the situation while making sure there were no demons coming to attack them.

”Continue with our original approach. I’m going to leave for a moment,” ordered Milfa as she leaped into the sky and landed all the way at the top of the fortress’ wall.

”What...” The soldiers were wary of her and accidentally pointed their spears toward her.

”I’m Great Protector Gram. Who am I speaking to?”

”Demon Banner Army, Demon Adjudicator Squad Captain, Milfa. My people will lower their numbers as much as possible before retreating. Unfortunately, this type of attack requires a lot of resources, especially the demon crystals.”

”Understood. We appreciate the help.” Gram nodded with a serious expression as he noticed something. ”Demon crystals?”

”That’s right. That’s what I’m planning to talk about as well. Once you and your men repel the demons, I’d like to ask you to gather the demon crystals to resupply our airships. This way, the airships can continue annihilating the demons.

”We’re planning to continue south.” Milfa’s suggestion was not a big deal.

They eliminated most of the demons, and they would be the ones to clean up. As long as they repeated the process a couple of times, there was no telling how much damage their group could deal to the demon army.

Gram thought for a moment before nodding his head. ”Understood. That will also help our people.”

”Hmmm.”

”We will use your fortress as an anchor point.”

”Got it.”

”In that case, I will be back.” Milfa nodded before jumping back to the airship and began to kill the demons at a much faster speed.

Gram was a bit speechless. It felt like his power was nothing compared to the airship, but there was not much he could do.

Even though he was a great protector, he couldn’t sense the depth of Milfa’s strength. He instantly realized that Milfa might not be just a captain. She might be even stronger than most captains. A spirit transcendence rank captain.

That was why it was better to cooperate with her. This was the best chance to survive.

While Milfa executed the plan brilliantly, her scale was pale in comparison to Noel.

Grandel pointed forward. ”Kill them all!”
