Chapter 1563: Noel’s Intention

Rose was smiling, but she couldnʼt respond to any of Noelʼs stories. It was completely ridiculous.

Noel gave her only three stories. The first one was about the pillars, which ended up becoming the helpers of the current Ardagan family.

The second one was the fake execution. However, he didnʼt clarify everything, including the possibility of them really colluding with King Oliver before his transformation, as Duke Lorelei testified.

Noel just smiled, implying that it could be anything, and it was better to remain hidden. The less they knew, the better.

Rose didnʼt plan to pry into the business of the previous Ardagan family. Meanwhile, Elaine finally understood why Rose had told her that the thing she knew about Noel was what Noel wanted her to know.

There was indeed a conspiracy behind it, and there might be another conspiracy behind that conspiracy.

As a result, it would be a never-ending conspiracy until they didnʼt know which one was the truth anymore.

The last one he told them was the thing about his exile to the Demon Banner Army. Rose might know a part of it, but she didnʼt know everything.

This was the reason he came to know everything.

Rose just sat down while saying with a sigh, ”This is too much to take on.”

Elaine nodded in agreement. ”My lord. May I know one thing?”

”Yes?”

”How do you plan to portray your parents? Do you want them to be seen as a hero like your uncle?”

Noel shook his head. He believed his parents were already to live as outcasts for the rest of their lives. So, bringing them back like this was definitely something they didnʼt expect.

He might be able to portray them as a hero, but it would be hard. Even Laufey still had a bad reputation.

Hence, Noel answered, ”No. I donʼt really care about their reputation. Itʼs fine even if itʼs bad. As long as there is enough justification for them to live in the open again, that is enough for me.”

Elaine fell silent for a moment. It was an unexpected answer from Noel. If he wanted to, he was capable of creating whatever images. Yet, Noel just wanted them back. He didnʼt care about anything else.

Even if their reputation was rock bottom, he still had the strength to protect them. As long as they could return, that was enough. He didnʼt want them to live in constant fear that the people would kill them because of the story or prepare for another execution because of the fake one.

As long as those two could be managed, he didnʼt care about anything else.

Elaine nodded in understanding. ”In that case, I shall prepare everything this way.”

”Thank you.” Noel smiled. ”I have prepared a lot of arguments to convince you. After all, you are rather too strict with the rules.”

”If you wish to, you can simply use your strength to prove your point, and I will have no choice but to fulfill your wish, my lord.”

”And do you think I will do something like that?”

”Of course not. It is for this reason I choose to follow you.” Elaine shook her head. ”Besides, wanting oneʼs parents back… Youʼre not the only one with that feeling.”

Elaine had her father exiled, but that was only to avoid execution. To be able to reunite again was a blessing that couldnʼt be described.

She had experienced it thanks to Noelʼs forgiveness. That was why she understood his feelings.

”Still, it doesnʼt look like we have enough people to fight them, no?” Rose asked. ”If you think about it, how far have the organizations been searching for the ancient demons?”

”According to the information…” Noel raised two fingers. ”The north has been completely swept by them. If they want to get more ancient demons, they have to go further north or start heading west.

”So, Iʼm assuming that they will be going there. The biggest problem will be on the western front. We might have to face them there. Unlike the northern front, the western front is less reinforced.

”Hence, it is easier to break open. Even if I know it is a trap, I will still personally go through the western front,” explained Noel.

”But we donʼt have any control over the western front, right? I mean, there are some, but our influence is not as deep as in the north.”

”Indeed. Hence, we will be using the airships to fortify their defenses. It has high mobility as well as high firepower, so it is suitable to become a fortification.”

Elaine nodded with a serious expression. ”In that case, I will begin the negotiation with the western lord and, if possible, a treaty.”

”I will take care of the route after that then.” Rose agreed with Elaine.

”Good. We will shift a portion of our army to the Lesen family and the Stargaze family. The Stargaze family is located in the middle of the northern front, so they are suitable to become the center of our defense.

”Meanwhile, I will send the reinforcements to the Lesen family so that you can distribute them to handle the invasion from the west.”

Since the Lesen family was located on the western part of the northern front, it was indeed the closest one to the western front. With her family at the center, Noel wanted to strengthen the western front.

If they were able to win this battle, the Lesen familyʼs strength, reputation, and relationship would be something no one could underestimate anymore.

”Thank you for your trust, my lord. My brother, my father, and I will certainly not disappoint you.” Elaine lowered her head, understanding what would happen.

Noel waved his hand as if it were not a big deal. ”Anyway, we need to know—?”

Seeing Noelʼs abrupt stop confused the two of them. They tilted their heads, wondering what was going on.

Noel simply snapped his fingers as the doors opened themselves, revealing Tristan and Sandra, who were about to enter.

”Tristan, Sandra. What are you two doing here?” Noel squinted his eyes.

With a big smile on his face, Tristan took out a few cards while declaring, ”Master. I did it. I created an advanced rune card.”

”!!!”
