Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 744: Chapter 787: Adorable Little One

Chu Yi’s crying really startled Mo Xuehong. Out of instinct, Mo Xuehong immediately cradled Chu Yi and paced around trying to soothe him!

However, no matter how she tried, she couldn’t calm him down!

It wasn’t until she realized the futility of her efforts that Mo Xuehong had a sudden revelation. Lowering her head to ask the crying Chu Yi, ”Little one, crying so hard, are you hungry?”

Unfortunately, how could a child understand adults’ words? He just kept crying!

”Oh dear, if you’re hungry, what should I do? I don’t have any formula or bottles!” Knowing Chu Yi might be hungry, Mo Xuehong was truly at a loss.

At first, she planned to kill this little one to accompany Qin Muyao in death! Bringing him home was completely accidental, so she hadn’t prepared anything for the baby! Now the child is hungry, what should she do? At this time during New Year, all the shops are closed. Where could she buy any formula?

But if she let the child cry continuously, he would undoubtedly cry himself tired!

Mo Xuehong cradled Chu Yi, utterly panicked, not knowing what to do! Hearing him cry made her inexplicably sad!

Seeing Chu Yi crying so hard, Mo Xuehong suddenly had an idea, hurriedly saying, ”Little one, don’t cry, I’ll get you something to eat right now!” With that, she placed Chu Yi on the sofa in the living room and swiftly went to the stove, filling a clean pot with water and putting it on the gas stove, then cleaned some rice!

While waiting for the water to boil, she returned to the living room, picking up the still crying Chu Yi, and went to the kitchen. Once the water boiled, she held the child in one hand, poured the cleaned rice into the hot water with the other hand, and began stirring the rice with a spatula in the hot water.

As she stirred the rice, she softly cooed to Chu Yi, ”Little one, be good, don’t cry, food will be ready soon, just wait a bit longer!”

Perhaps exhausted from crying, or maybe he smelled the scent of rice, Chu Yi gradually stopped crying, blinking his tear-filled eyes pitifully at Mo Xuehong, looking as pitiful as can be.

Seeing Chu Yi like this, Mo Xuehong felt an inexplicable pang of heartache!

When she realized her feelings, Mo Xuehong was taken aback!

She actually felt pity for the child of her beloved daughter’s murderer? Why would she feel pity for him? Wasn’t her original plan to get revenge on Ye Anxin by snatching this child?

Even so, Mo Xuehong couldn’t help but feel worried and pained by Chu Yi’s crying, and happy seeing his smile!

Looking at the child in her arms, Mo Xuehong muttered to herself, ”Little one, will you stay here with me forever? Muyao’s gone, maybe she saw how lonely I am, and sent you to keep me company! Maybe this is her arrangement from beyond!”

Chu Yi perhaps did not understand Mo Xuehong’s words, only blinking his tear-filled eyes looking at her!

”Little thing, since you’re not speaking, I’ll take it as you agreeing!” Mo Xuehong couldn’t help but gently touch Chu Yi’s forehead with hers, then glanced at the boiling water, smiled slightly, and said warmly, ”Alright, the food is ready! I’ll feed you now!” With that, she turned off the heat, took out a clean bowl and soup spoon, poured the thick rice soup into the bowl, holding the child in one arm and the bowl of rice soup in the other, she sat down on the living room sofa.

After sitting down, she lifted her left foot to place the child’s head on her left arm, held the soup spoon in her right hand, and with each spoonful of rice soup, she blew under it until it gave off no more steam before carefully bringing it to Chu Yi’s mouth, cautiously feeding the rice soup into his mouth!

Feeling food entering his mouth, the already very hungry Chu Yi didn’t care about the taste, opened his mouth wide, and greedily swallowed it down!

Seeing his satisfied look after drinking the rice soup, Mo Xuehong smiled contentedly and continued feeding spoon after spoon of cooled rice soup into Chu Yi’s mouth!

Because every time Mo Xuehong fed the rice soup, she would blow on it first. Whenever Mo Xuehong blew on the soup, Chu Yi would blink his eyes, quietly waiting for her to feed it into his mouth.

Just like this, Mo Xuehong carefully and steadily fed him an entire bowl of rice soup!

After the rice soup, Chu Yi stopped crying! Perhaps tired from crying earlier, or perhaps full, he yawned lazily with his mouth open, his eyelids drooping, looking sleepy.

Seeing him sleepy, Mo Xuehong quickly stood up holding him, gently jostling his little body while comforting him to sleep, ”Come, let’s sleep now, be good... let’s sleep!”

Chu Yi was very obedient. With a few gentle jolts from Mo Xuehong, he quickly closed his eyes and fell asleep!

Seeing him sleep so sweetly, Mo Xuehong brought him back to the bedroom, took off the white coat wrapping him, gently placed him on the bed, and tucked him in carefully!

Seeing him sleeping soundly, making sure he wouldn’t wake up soon, Mo Xuehong contemplated for a while before taking some clothes from the wardrobe, changing them, putting on a hat, and heading out!

Although rice soup can temporarily fill the child’s stomach, ultimately, it’s not nutritious! A child should ideally drink breast milk or formula! Moreover, there were no diapers at home, no clothes for the child to change into—many things were missing! Since the child was asleep now, she thought it might be a good time to go out and see if any mother-and-baby stores are like some taxis now, staying open during New Year to earn extra money!

While thinking this, Mo Xuehong went downstairs and casually hailed a taxi, heading to the nearest large shopping mall!

Since Mo Xuehong’s rental apartment is right in the city center, close to the mall, she reached the destination quickly!

However, Mo Xuehong wandered through several malls and none were open; all the shops were closed for New Year’s!

Standing at the entrance of a recently visited shopping center, looking at the sparsely populated street, Mo Xuehong glanced at the last shopping mall nearby, hesitating whether she should go in and have a look!

Jin City is huge, with clusters of malls everywhere! Each area connects several shopping malls! And she had nearly checked all the malls in this cluster, leaving only the last one! If this one isn’t open, she’d have to take a taxi to another shopping area!

But she’d been out for quite a while already. If she were to take another ride to another area, she was worried about the little one waking up at home and being scared when he couldn’t find anyone!

In this situation, she could only hope that the last shopping mall had a mother-and-baby store that was open! Otherwise, she would have to go back and come out again another day!
