Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 723: Chapter 766: Creating a Mystery

Mu Beiting muttered a curse under his breath and picked up the desk phone to dial the intercom. Not long after, Pete arrived.

Mu Beiting’s long fingers rhythmically tapped on the desktop as he calmly issued orders, ”Give the order to find the lady’s whereabouts! The last place she went was the Blue Sky Building. Use that as a starting point and conduct a comprehensive search. Make sure to find her in the shortest amount of time!”

”I understand, I’ll get on it right away!” Pete nodded and was about to leave when Mu Beiting’s phone on the table beeped with a text message alert.

Pete paused, turned back to look at Mu Beiting, and didn’t leave.

Mu Beiting picked up the phone, unlocked it, and opened the text message, only to see the words: ’If you want Ye Anxin to stay alive, come to the top floor of the Blue Sky Building alone! Do not call the police, do not bring any subordinates, or if I discover anyone else, I’ll push Ye Anxin off the rooftop!’

The message was sent from Ye Anxin’s phone, and there was no signature at the end.

Upon seeing this message, Mu Beiting’s expression darkened, and a cold light shone in his eyes.

”President...!” Seeing Mu Beiting’s unpleasant expression, Pete didn’t dare to leave and hesitated while looking at him.

Although he didn’t know what had happened now, he knew it must be related to the lady. Something must have happened to her, otherwise, the usually calm and composed president wouldn’t be this tense.

”Stay in the office and wait for my orders!” With that, he didn’t bother with the files on the desk, grabbed the down jacket from the coat rack, and walked towards the door while putting it on.

Watching Mu Beiting’s figure drive away, Pete sighed helplessly, walked to the desk, and expertly tidied up the documents on the table for him.

This time, Mu Beiting didn’t let a driver take him; instead, he drove himself to the Blue Sky Building.

Because the distance between the Mu Group and the Blue Sky Building wasn’t too far, it took less than half an hour for Mu Beiting to reach his destination.

When Mu Beiting just parked the car, the text message notification in his pants pocket sounded again.

Mu Beiting took out his phone, checked the message, and saw the words: ’Come to the top floor alone! Don’t tell anyone, and don’t bring anyone up, or I’ll push Ye Anxin down immediately!’

The phone number was still Ye Anxin’s, but there was still no signature at the end!

Mu Beiting raised his hand to look at the watch on his wrist; it was fifteen minutes to six! Because it was winter, it was already completely dark, and the streets were mostly empty, with people who should have returned home already doing so!

Mu Beiting parked the car directly at the main entrance of the Blue Sky Building, ignored the people coming and going, opened the car door, and took big strides towards the elevator!

Although there weren’t many people in the mall, there were still people going up and down on almost every floor, and the Blue Sky Building had a total of twenty-two floors! So, by the time Mu Beiting reached the top floor, ten more minutes had already passed!

After exiting the elevator, Mu Beiting found the stairway and climbed up to the rooftop!

When Mu Beiting opened the rooftop door, the rooftop was empty, not a sign of Ye Anxin, not even the people who kidnapped Ye Anxin.

And on the rooftop, besides the thick snow, there weren’t even any footprints!

Mu Beiting took out his phone and was about to make a call when a message alert sounded again!

Mu Beiting opened the message and saw the words: ’Walk forward ten steps, crouch down, and brush away the snow to find a black shopping bag. Take out the watch inside and wear it! Don’t ask why! If you want to see Ye Anxin, just do it!’

Mu Beiting’s face was dark as he took big steps forward, ten steps, crouched down, and brushed away the snow-covered ground. Not long after, a black shopping bag appeared before his eyes!

Mu Beiting opened the shopping bag, revealing a beautifully packaged box! Mu Beiting opened the box once more, and a black diamond watch appeared in front of him!

At the moment he saw the watch, the gloomy expression on Mu Beiting’s face seemed to disappear in an instant, and his tightly pursed lips curved into a faint smile!

Mu Beiting took the watch from the box, removed his own watch from his wrist, and put on the black diamond watch from the box!

The watch was simple and elegant, stable and restrained, matching Mu Beiting’s inherent temperament, as if it were tailor-made for him!

After Mu Beiting put on the watch, the phone in his pocket was still unresponsive!

Mu Beiting waited for a while, seeing the phone still hadn’t reacted, couldn’t help but take it out, and sent a message to Ye Anxin’s phone number, ”What next? I want to see Anxin!”

Before long, the phone responded! Mu Beiting opened it to see the words: ’Walk fifty meters to the right!’

Obediently, Mu Beiting turned around and walked to the right, silently counting in his heart as he walked!

The closer he got to the destination, Mu Beiting started to see a faint flicker of firelight ahead!

After walking past an atrium, once he saw what was by the atrium, he was taken aback.

He saw a beautifully set dining table by the atrium, adorned with a European-style vintage five-arm candelabra. White candles were placed on the candelabra, and because of the strong wind, fearing the candles might extinguish, an arched glass cover was placed over it. Beside the candelabra was a bottle of red wine. On the long dining table, exquisite tableware was placed, covered with lids, making it unclear what was inside!

And Ye Anxin was standing by the dining table, hands behind her back, smiling charmingly at him.

This scene and setting made Mu Beiting’s throat involuntarily move!

”Uncle, happy birthday!” She said as she tiptoed to give him a birthday kiss, then opened her arms and tightly hugged the man.

Mu Beiting gulped, his throat choked, and his lips opened and closed slightly, but ultimately he couldn’t utter a word!

Seeing that Mu Beiting didn’t speak, Ye Anxin thought he was angry, let go of him, looked up at him, and cautiously asked, ”Uncle, are you angry? Angry that I shouldn’t have done all of this, angry that I made you worried?”

Seeing her cautious face fearing to upset him, Mu Beiting forcefully embraced her, saying in a hoarse voice, ”You remembered?”

Hearing this, Ye Anxin was initially stunned, then quickly reacted, saying with a smile, ”Of course I remember Uncle’s birthday! I just wanted to give Uncle a surprise, so I did all of this to mysteriously lure you here, wanting to spend the first memorable birthday of your life alone with you!”

Listening to Ye Anxin’s words, Mu Beiting held her tighter, almost melding her into his heart.
