Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 726: Chapter 769: Opening Up the Heart

The large snowflakes landed on their bodies and faces, quickly melting from their warmth!

Ye Anxin smiled and said, ”Uncle, now that we’re full, let’s go for a walk downstairs together! Do you remember six years ago, the snowy night when we walked hand in hand through the streets?”

”Mm!” Mu Beiting nodded, placing Ye Anxin gently down from his lap, taking her hand, and carefully walking on the snow-covered rooftop, leading her away to take the elevator to the first floor.

After leaving the Blue Sky Building, Ye Anxin took out her phone and called the restaurant’s waiter to clear the tableware from the rooftop!

Once she finished the call, Ye Anxin held hands with Mu Beiting as they walked out of the Blue Sky Building!

The snow outside was getting heavier, yet Ye Anxin didn’t feel cold at all; rather, a warmth seemed to flow through from Mu Beiting’s hand into her whole body!

”The road is snowy; be careful, I’ll hold your hand!” Mu Beiting said, tightening his grip on Ye Anxin’s hand.

”Okay!” Ye Anxin nodded obediently, and the two of them descended the steps, aimlessly wandering the snowy streets!

Because of the snow, there weren’t many pedestrians, just a few people passing by in a hurry, along with fast-moving vehicles on the street!

Walking on the snowy streets, Ye Anxin took the chance to say, ”Uncle, I know that you grew up in an incomplete family without the warmth of a family, and you never knew what family or relatives should be like! So you developed a withdrawn and arrogant personality! Even so, I’ve never regretted marrying you, Uncle! From now on, can we open up our hearts and not close ourselves off in our own worlds? Whatever you have in mind, share it with me; even if I can’t solve it, sharing it with one more person will lighten the burden. Uncle, don’t you think so?”

Mu Beiting walked beside her, silently listening without responding.

Seeing Mu Beiting remain silent, Ye Anxin tried another approach, ”Uncle, are my hands warm?”

Mu Beiting nodded and softly replied, ”Mm!”

Ye Anxin asked again, ”Right now, don’t you think my hands are the warmest thing in the world?”

Mu Beiting answered without hesitation, ”Not just right now! They’ve always been!”

Ye Anxin lowered her head, braving her nerves, and with a hint of shamelessness, said, ”Uncle, don’t you feel that holding my hand is like holding the whole world?”

Mu Beiting nodded, brought Ye Anxin’s hand to his lips, and kissed it gently, saying sincerely, ”Mm! These hands are more precious than anything in the world!”

Ye Anxin stopped, lifted her head, and looked directly into Mu Beiting’s deep, unfathomable eyes, squinting slightly with a warm smile, ”Then promise me, Uncle, to let go of all the unpleasant past and start our new life from today, okay? Mo Xuehong and Qin Muyao are in the past; since they don’t cherish their bond with you, you don’t need to care about them anymore! The more you care, the more it hurts when you’re hurt! I don’t want you to be heartbroken over people who aren’t worth it! I want you to be happy, basking in the joy from me and the children!”

Looking into Ye Anxin’s eyes, which were brighter and clearer than the stars in the night sky, Mu Beiting agreed without hesitation!

”A promise is a promise; let’s pinky swear! Even if Mo Xuehong appears again, we can treat her as a stranger and not let her cause any unhappiness!” Saying this, fearing that Mu Beiting wouldn’t agree, she quickly extended her pinky.

Mu Beiting smiled and also extended his pinky to hook onto Ye Anxin’s!

Because of this smile, the lines on Mu Beiting’s face became incredibly gentle, making him appear much more approachable!

Ye Anxin gazed captivated at the smile on Mu Beiting’s handsome face and couldn’t help but say, ”Uncle, your smile is really beautiful; you should smile more often. I love to see you smile!”

Hearing this, Mu Beiting’s smile unconsciously grew wider and wider!

Under the dim streetlights, on a snowy night, on a quiet street, Mu Beiting stood facing Ye Anxin, gazing deeply into each other’s eyes!

It felt as if time stood still, snowflakes falling onto their bodies and hair!

The scene froze at this moment, as if it were a beautiful and romantic manga scene!

.........

Time slipped away unnoticed, and in the blink of an eye, it was the second New Year that Mu Beiting and Ye Anxin would celebrate together!

Although Mu Beiting and Ye Anxin had been married for nearly seven years, they spent five years apart, celebrating the New Year together only the year they got married!

Thus, Ye Anxin placed great importance on this New Year, starting her preparations early! Not only did she put up red couplets at the door, but she also hung red lanterns to create a festive atmosphere and bought the household staff a red New Year’s outfit each!

Not just that, but even Mu Beiting, who usually despised the color red, and his son were dressed up in cheerful red outfits!

Due to her pregnancy, Ye Anxin had to have a red outfit specially tailored for her at a clothing store!

On New Year’s Eve, Ye Anxin got up early to help the staff prepare the New Year’s Eve dinner in the kitchen!

Halfway through, Ye Anxin suddenly thought of the old man at the Mu Family ancestral home!

Thinking of the old man spending New Year lonely made Ye Anxin feel an ache in her heart!

At this moment, Mu Beiting happened to come downstairs and saw her standing there holding greens absentmindedly. He couldn’t help but walk over and say softly, ”Let the servants handle this; you’re about to give birth—and carrying that big belly around could lead to an accident!”

Ye Anxin turned to look at Mu Beiting, in a daze for a few seconds, seriously pondered for a while, and then washed her hands clean, took Mu Beiting out of the kitchen, and sat on the living room sofa. After hesitating for a moment, she couldn’t help but say, ”Uncle, today is New Year’s Eve, which should be a family reunion day! We, as a family of three, are happily celebrating here, but the old man is all alone at the ancestral home! In the past, at least Rufeng and her son accompanied him for New Year, but now, he’s all alone! Why don’t we bring the old man over to join us for the New Year’s meal?”

Honestly, although the old Mu Family man had made mistakes in the past, he had realized his wrongs and even sought to make amends, wanting to reconcile the father-son relationship!
