Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 724: Chapter 767: Surprise

In Mu Beiting’s arms, Ye Anxin could hardly breathe and let out a muffled voice, ”Uncle, be careful with the baby!”

Hearing this, Mu Beiting slowly released the person in his arms.

Once free, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but take deep breaths of fresh air.

Catching her breath, Ye Anxin hurriedly asked, ”Uncle, do you like the birthday gift I gave you?”

Mu Beiting raised his hand, pointing to the watch on his wrist, ”Are you talking about this?”

”Yes! I personally picked this out for you yesterday! I know you like wearing watches, and since we’ve been married, you’ve always worn that same watch, never changing it, so I thought I’d buy you a new one!” At this point, she couldn’t help asking again, ”Uncle, do you like the birthday gift I gave you?”

Mu Beiting lowered his head, repeatedly and carefully observing the understated black watch on his wrist. After a long while, he nodded!

Seeing his expression, Ye Anxin thought he didn’t like the gift she gave him and couldn’t help saying, ”Uncle, do you not like the watch I gave you?”

Mu Beiting immediately explained, ”No, I really like it!”

Ye Anxin bowed her head in guilt, ”But you seem to be answering reluctantly! Actually, if you don’t like it, you don’t need to force yourself to like it! This is the first proper gift I’ve ever given to the man I love! So, it’s inevitable that the choice might not be satisfactory! If you don’t like it, I could...!” At this point, Ye Anxin didn’t know how to continue.

To say exchange it! That would be for tomorrow, and the birthday would already be over, meaningless!

Say next year, buy you something you like! She found out that Uncle didn’t seem to have anything he particularly liked! So, she really didn’t know what to do!

Mu Beiting gently pinched Ye Anxin’s chin, slowly lifting her head, tenderly saying, ”As long as it’s from you, I like it!”

Ye Anxin blinked, incredulously asking, ”You really like it?”

Mu Beiting nodded solemnly, ”Yes! I really do like it! But next time, don’t be so mysterious; you know I’ll worry about you!”

Ye Anxin pouted, playfully saying, ”Didn’t I just want to give Uncle a surprise? I heard that the joy after a lot of suspense is the biggest surprise! I know Uncle cares about me the most, so I deliberately played missing, first making you worry, then step by step bringing you here! I also know that Uncle would definitely come alone to avoid me getting hurt! So, I used this method to get the gift to you and then give you an unexpected surprise! How about it? Isn’t my idea creative?”

Mu Beiting said seriously, ”I don’t like you joking about your own safety!”

Ye Anxin smiled sweetly and agreed readily, ”Alright, I get it, I’ll listen to Uncle, and not joke about my safety to worry you in the future, okay?”

Hearing this, Mu Beiting finally nodded in satisfaction, ”Hmm!”

Suddenly, Ye Anxin seemed to remember something, looked up at Mu Beiting, and mischievously said, ”Wait... Uncle just said, so you remembered! What does that mean? You probably knew today was your birthday all along and have been waiting for my gesture, right?”

Upon hearing her words, Mu Beiting’s handsome face clearly blushed, his gaze flickering, not daring to look directly into Ye Anxin’s eyes.

Seeing this, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but laugh out loud, ”Haha, did I guess right? Uncle, you do remember your own birthday! Since you remember, and want to celebrate with me, why didn’t you speak up? Did you know that whatever you’re thinking should be said out loud, not left for others to guess! Only by saying it can everyone know what’s in your heart! Like this time, it just so happened that Uncle and I were on the same page! If I had forgotten, wouldn’t Uncle be disappointed and have to wait another year for the next birthday!”

Laughed at so openly by Ye Anxin, Mu Beiting’s handsome face turned even redder, his thin lips slightly open, stammering to explain, ”I... actually didn’t remember... It’s just that last time at the office entrance, I heard you solemnly tell that woman my birthday, so... so...”

Seeing Mu Beiting too embarrassed to continue, Ye Anxin quickly picked up, laughing, ”So since then, Uncle has been looking forward to the arrival of your birthday, hoping I can give you an unforgettable birthday, right?”

”...!” Mu Beiting pouted slightly, saying nothing, which was an indirect admission!

Never had she seen Mu Beiting so embarrassed, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but tease, ”Uncle, you’re really such a silent charmer!”

Mu Beiting glanced at Ye Anxin’s gloating face, and simply turned away not to look at her.

Knowing Mu Beiting was embarrassed, and if teased further, he might get upset, so she wrapped her arm around his from behind, changed the topic and said with a smile, ”Uncle, let’s have dinner! Let me tell you, today’s steak was personally cooked by me in the restaurant kitchen! I practiced for a long time and wasted a lot of ingredients before I succeeded!” As she spoke, she led Mu Beiting to one of the seats at the dining table. Once Mu Beiting sat down, she moved to the seat opposite on the long dining table.

After Ye Anxin sat down, both she and Mu Beiting simultaneously uncovered the lid on the steak!

Ye Anxin also uncovered the lid on the steak, picked up her knife and fork, and excitedly said to Mu Beiting, ”Uncle, quickly try it, see how it tastes? Is it good? How does it compare with the restaurant’s professional chef? I used to only know how to cook Chinese food, I’ve never made Western food before, this is my first time trying!”

”Hmm!” Mu Beiting nodded, picked up his knife and fork, and skillfully and elegantly cut a small piece and put it in his mouth, slowly chewing!

Ye Anxin didn’t move, she just looked at Mu Beiting expectantly, much like a child waiting for parental approval after doing something good.

Mu Beiting took one bite after another! Then, kept putting one piece after another into his mouth!

Seeing Mu Beiting only eat and not comment, Ye Anxin couldn’t help but pout, dissatisfied, ”What’s the taste? I worked so hard learning from the restaurant chef all day, at least give me some feedback or something!”

Mu Beiting took two more bites before opening his thin lips and firmly saying two words, ”Delicious!”

Upon hearing this, Ye Anxin’s eyes brightened instantly, ”Really delicious? You’re not just saying that to make me happy?”
