Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 715: Chapter 758: Sending Her Off One Last Time

After Ye Anxin brought Mu Beiting and Xiao Bai into the house, the butler immediately came over, reaching out to take the briefcase from Mu Beiting’s hand, and said with a smile, ”Sir, Madam, dinner is ready. You can eat after washing your hands!”

Ye Anxin nodded, hesitated for a moment, but couldn’t help saying, ”Butler Uncle, could you please take a bowl of food to Mo Xuehong outside! It’s snowing again outside, her trouser legs and shoes are wet, if she doesn’t eat something to replenish her strength, her body won’t hold up!”

Hearing Ye Anxin’s words, the butler hesitated a bit, ”Madam, there’s no need to worry about her! She threw all the food I brought her at lunchtime onto the ground! She doesn’t appreciate kindness at all and isn’t worth you being so kind to her!”

Ye Anxin smiled, unfazed, ”I don’t mind whether she appreciates it or not! I just want to do what I’m supposed to do!”

Hearing this, the butler had no choice but to nod reluctantly, went to the kitchen, filled a big bowl with rice, and picked out some dishes to take to Mo Xuehong outside!

After the butler left, Ye Anxin, Mu Beiting, and Xiao Bai went to the bathroom to wash their hands and sat down at the table to start eating.

They had barely taken a few bites when the butler came back, holding the steaming food in his hands.

Seeing the butler bring back the food untouched, Ye Anxin wondered, ”What happened? She didn’t want it?”

The butler shook his head and replied honestly, ”No! I didn’t see her outside, just a trail of footprints in the snow! She might have already left!”

”She left!” Hearing the butler’s words, Ye Anxin lowered her head and thought for a moment, but couldn’t help saying, ”Butler, have the driver follow the footprints and check! She hasn’t eaten all day and is carrying a body; she probably can’t hold on much longer! If something happens halfway up the mountain, it wouldn’t be good!”

The butler furrowed his brow, puzzled, ”That woman still hasn’t repented and blames all her misfortunes on you, Madam. Instead of being grateful for your kindness, she says awful things about you and Sir! Why concern ourselves with her well-being?”

Ye Anxin said helplessly, ”In the end, she’s still Uncle’s biological mother! Besides, everything she did before was instigated by Qin Muyao! Now that Qin Muyao is dead, she’s all alone and pitiful! Maybe one day she’ll suddenly come to her senses and realize she wrongly blamed us!”

Hearing this, Xiao Bai couldn’t help but say, ”Mom, you’re not thinking of reconciling with her and getting along peacefully, are you?”

Ye Anxin shrugged and smiled, ”If it’s possible, why not? If we can get along peacefully, why hold grudges?”

Hearing this, Xiao Bai couldn’t help but roll his eyes and said speechlessly, ”Alas! Hopeless!”

Ye Anxin smiled without responding to him, instead looking at the butler and gently saying, ”Butler, please do this for me! Tell the driver if Mo Xuehong has any requests, he should go along with them. If any request is too unreasonable, he should call me!”

”Alright! Got it!” Knowing his Madam’s compassionate nature, the butler nodded and turned to leave without saying more.

Watching the butler leave, Xiao Bai exclaimed helplessly, ”Mom, you’re too soft-hearted! That kind of woman should be left to die!”

Ye Anxin patted Xiao Bai’s head, unconcerned, ”Alright, let’s eat! Otherwise, the food will be cold!”

”I’ve been trying to reason with you all this while, but you just won’t listen! I want to see how that woman will repay your kindness!” He snorted coldly and buried his head in his meal, ignoring Xiao Bai.

Ye Anxin glanced at Mu Beiting, who hadn’t said a word from start to finish, and saw him eating as if he hadn’t heard their conversation!

Ye Anxin said no more, silently continuing her meal.

After eating, she went to the study to read, then went to bed. All the while waiting for the driver’s call, which never came!

Not until the next day did the driver return to report!

Seeing the driver return, Ye Anxin eagerly asked, ”Driver Uncle, how is it? Where’s Mo Xuehong now? And what about Qin Muyao?”

The driver answered truthfully, ”Last night, I met Mo Xuehong halfway up the mountain; she’d been carrying Qin Muyao for a long time. When she couldn’t go any further, she sat down in the snow to rest! When I came, she didn’t appreciate me saying that you sent me, Madam, but I forced her into the car! Later, she asked me to take her to the funeral home! Because there are more people at the funeral home, Qin Muyao was scheduled for cremation at noon today!”

Ye Anxin asked, ”What time this noon?”

The driver thought for a moment and said, ”It seems to be eleven-thirty!”

Ye Anxin nodded, smiled, ”Alright, understood! Thank you for your hard work yesterday! Take a good rest today!”

”Got it, I’m heading out now!” Saying this, the driver turned and left.

After the driver left, Ye Anxin looked at Mu Beiting, hesitated a moment, and couldn’t help but say, ”Uncle, let’s go to the funeral home later and give Qin Muyao a final send-off! Although she was awful, she’s already passed; let’s just let bygones be bygones. Everyone has many mourners when they die, but she only has Mo Xuehong. It’s really quite pitiful!”

Mu Beiting, without thinking, promptly refused, ”No way!”

Ye Anxin clung to Mu Beiting’s arm, smiled sweetly, and coaxed, ”Uncle...! Be generous, don’t hold grudges! We won’t meet Mo Xuehong, just secretly say our goodbye from a distance!”

Xiao Bai also persuaded, ”Dad, just agree to it! If you don’t let her send Qin Muyao off, she’ll feel guilty forever! After all, it’s just sneaking a peek, nothing more!”

Hearing this, Mu Beiting’s gaze darkened, after contemplating briefly, he nodded, ”Alright!”

Seeing Mu Beiting agree, Ye Anxin immediately beamed, ”Great! Let’s have breakfast first, and then head to the funeral home right after! We should still make it on time!”

”Alright!” Mu Beiting still just nodded lightly!

After having breakfast, they first took Xiao Bai to school, then headed to the funeral home!

However, upon arriving at the funeral home, Mu Beiting and Ye Anxin searched around but couldn’t find Mo Xuehong! With no other option, Ye Anxin had to consult the staff at the funeral home!

The staff carefully checked and then said, ”The original arrangement for Ms. Mo Xuehong was cremation at eleven-thirty in Furnace Five, but at nine in the morning, the family originally scheduled at that time consulted someone who said nine was an inauspicious time for cremation, not good for descendants! So they swapped times with Ms. Mo Xuehong.”
