Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 727: Chapter 770: Making Peace

Moreover, the old man is already of such an age, to put it bluntly, he doesn’t have many years left! Instead of wasting time on hatred, he might as well enjoy his remaining years in peace!

To be honest, the old man has treated her really well over the years. Although he was initially very resistant to her, it was all because of Xie Yunlu’s instigations. Later, the old man realized his misunderstanding of her and took the initiative to apologize!

She thinks that, after all, they are family, and blood is thicker than water, isn’t it?

Upon hearing Ye Anxin’s words, Mu Beiting’s gentle and handsome face was instantly overshadowed with gloom, with an uncontainable resistance in his eyes.

Taking in Mu Beiting’s expression completely, Ye Anxin smiled sweetly and wrapped her arm around his, saying with a smile, ”Uncle, it’s been so many years; if you can forget, just let go of it! You’ve managed to let go of your hatred for Mo Xuehong, so why can’t you forgive the old man? After all, the old man is actually much better than Mo Xuehong! Over the years, although he hasn’t fulfilled his duties as a father, if he hadn’t taken Uncle back from Mo Xuehong back then, Uncle wouldn’t have achieved what he has today! And all these years, the old man has been trying to make amends, reflecting and blaming himself while staying at home! In the past, when Uncle sent Mu Rufeng and his mother to another city, the old man definitely wouldn’t have agreed! But for Uncle’s sake, he did agree! This is enough to prove that the old man’s heart is now inclined towards Uncle, and that he cares about Uncle; he just doesn’t know how to express a father’s love for his child!”

Mu Beiting listened silently, never opening his mouth to speak!

Even though Mu Beiting didn’t speak, Ye Anxin knew he was listening to her, so she pursed her lips and continued, ”Uncle, let me call the old man! We’ll have the driver pick him up! It’s just the beginning of the meal preparations, there’s still time before New Year’s Eve dinner!”

After a long while, Mu Beiting finally uttered three words indifferently, ”It’s up to you!”

Although it was just three simple words, Ye Anxin immediately smiled happily! She knew how rare it was for such words to come from Uncle’s mouth!

Since Uncle said so, this proves that Uncle no longer harbors the same hatred towards the old man as before!

Thinking of this, Ye Anxin immediately picked up the phone next to the sofa and called the Mu family’s old house!

The call was picked up after just two rings, and the old and hoarse voice of the old house’s butler came through, ”Hello, who is this?”

Ye Anxin smiled politely and said, ”Butler, it’s Ye Anxin!”

”Ye... Ye Anxin?” Hearing this name, the butler was clearly stunned, unable to respond for quite a while!

”Yes! It’s me, Ye Anxin! Could you let the old man take the call? I have something to discuss with him!” Ye Anxin wasn’t surprised at the butler’s reaction!

She knew that for the people over at the old house, receiving a call from them was as rare as the sun rising from the west! So it’s no wonder the old butler took a while to respond.

”Alright, alright, madam, please wait a moment, I will call the old master!” The old butler finally reacted, nodding vigorously, and put the receiver down, then sent a younger, quicker-footed servant upstairs to call for the old master of the Mu family.

Even over the phone, Ye Anxin could almost hear the sound of the servant’s footsteps running up the stairs!

Ye Anxin held the receiver and waited patiently! Shortly, the familiar voice of the old master of the Mu family came from the other end, ”Anxin, is that you?”

Ye Anxin quickly replied, ”Old Master, it’s me!”

”Why do you have time to call me today?” After confirming it was Ye Anxin, the old master of the Mu family was indeed taken aback.

Since Ye Anxin’s entrance into the family, it was always him calling her first. She had never actively contacted him! Receiving a call today truly surprised him.

Ye Anxin smiled and said, ”Old Master, today is New Year’s Eve, wishing you a Happy New Year first!”

”Happy New Year, Happy New Year!” Mu Huajian nodded in agreement incessantly! Just the thought of Ye Anxin calling him made his heart unable to contain the excitement.

Ye Anxin tentatively said, ”Old Master, we’re having the New Year’s Eve dinner today, and I’d like the driver to bring you over to join us for dinner and to welcome the New Year together. Would you like to come?”

Upon hearing this, Mu Huajian was completely dumbfounded, ”What? What did you say?”

Ye Anxin calmly explained, ”I’d like the driver to bring you over to have New Year’s Eve dinner and welcome the New Year together! Neither Sister-in-law nor Mu Rufeng are home, and you’re all alone at home with no one to talk to. Today is a special day, and the family should be together! Therefore, Uncle and I discussed and hoped you’d come over to celebrate the New Year with us! Are you willing?”

After a moment, Mu Huajian stammered, ”I...I...I didn’t hear wrong, did I?”

Ye Anxin couldn’t help but laugh when she heard this, ”Old Master, you didn’t hear wrong! I’m telling the truth! We are a family. No matter what happened before, that was all in the past! Uncle and I sincerely hope you can come and celebrate the New Year with us!”

Mu Huajian replied incredulously, ”Really? It’s Beiting’s idea?”

He always thought that his son resented him deeply and would never forgive him! He never dared to hope for his forgiveness, nor did he ever dream that they would one day sit together for a New Year’s Eve dinner to welcome the New Year!

”Of course it’s Uncle’s idea! If it wasn’t, how would I dare to call you? Old Master, you know Uncle is not good at expressing himself, too concerned with his pride; he’d rather not make the call than swallow his pride! So, I had to do it for him! Would you like to spend New Year with us? If so, I’ll have the driver pick you up!” Saying this, Ye Anxin sneaked a glance at Mu Beiting!

Mu Beiting’s handsome face was clouded with gloom and looked extremely sullen, clearly in a bad and even very depressed mood!

Nonetheless, Ye Anxin didn’t mind at all, and she smiled broadly at Mu Beiting, using her expression and smile to soothe Mu Beiting’s gloomy mood!

On the other end of the call, it took some time for Mu Huajian to process Ye Anxin’s message and he suddenly woke up, quickly saying, ”I’ll come, I’ll come! But there’s no need to send a driver; it’s too much trouble! I’ll have my own driver take me there instead!”

If it wasn’t broad daylight right now, he would have thought he was dreaming, dreaming a dream that could never come true!

”In that case, Uncle and I will wait for you at home!” She said, exchanged a few more words, and then hung up the phone!
