Cutesy Wife Sweet Like Honey: Mr. Mu's Nightly Dote!

Chapter 731: Chapter 774: A Long Wait

After Ling Yueyue hung up the phone, Xiao Bai returned the mobile to Mu Huajian.

Mu Huajian held the phone tightly in his hand and anxiously asked, ”What did your Aunt Yueyue say? How are the baby’s clothes going to be prepared?”

He suddenly remembered after hearing Xiao Bai’s call with Ling Yueyue that everything for childbirth, including wraps and clothes, needs to be prepared beforehand! Even milk should be brought to the hospital in case the mother does not have breastmilk right after the baby is born!

Earlier at home, Ye Anxin suddenly had stomach pains, and in the rush to come here, he forgot all about it!

Xiao Bai answered, ”Aunt Yueyue said she would take care of the clothes and everything! Since Aunt Yueyue has had a baby before, I think she knows what to bring!”

”That’s good! Otherwise, us three guys wouldn’t know what to do!” He said, and before he could breathe a sigh of relief, Mu Huajian suddenly remembered something and quickly asked, ”And the confinement nanny? What about the confinement nanny? It’s New Year’s Eve, everyone is on holiday! What do we do about the nanny?”

”Ah...!” Hearing this, Xiao Bai stared wide-eyed, completely baffled.

Mu Beiting glanced at Mu Huajian, took out his cellphone from his pants pocket, and dialed a number! It wasn’t long before the call connected, and Pete’s familiar voice came through, ”President, Happy New Year, what can I do for you?”

Mu Beiting said seriously, ”The nanny I asked you to find before, call her now and tell her to come to the hospital immediately!”

”Now...!” Pete was momentarily stunned and quickly asked, ”Is Madam going into labor?”

Mu Beiting replied casually, ”Yes!”

”Alright! I got it, I’ll call the nanny now! She’s probably having the New Year’s Eve dinner at home right now!” Saying this, he bid farewell to Mu Beiting and hung up the phone.

After everything was arranged, everyone fell silent! Mu Huajian stood for a while, feeling a bit overwhelmed, and sat down beside Xiao Bai!

Not long after he sat down, a nurse came out from the delivery room! The three immediately got up to greet her, and Mu Beiting impatiently asked, ”How is the situation? Did she give birth? How much longer will it take?”

The nurse smiled and patiently explained, ”Sir, don’t worry, Madam is currently exerting herself in there! Although it’s her second child, the first was a C-section, so this natural birth is her first, which may take longer, but there’s no need to worry! After the child is born, we’ll come out to announce the good news!”

Mu Beiting, still uneasy, asked, ”Will my wife be alright? If not, we could opt for another C-section!”

Seeing Mu Beiting’s anxious and restless expression, the nurse couldn’t help but laugh, ”Sir, don’t worry, childbirth is something every woman goes through, she’ll be fine! Babies born naturally are generally better than those born via C-section, so if a natural birth is possible, it is preferable. Besides, a woman can only have three C-sections in her lifetime; your wife’s uterus has already been incised once, and we don’t advise cutting it again! A C-section may feel comfortable at the time, but the incision will be very painful after the anesthesia wears off! After a natural birth, if everything goes well, she’ll be able to walk almost immediately. So, don’t worry, everything will be fine!”

”Oh!” Listening to the nurse, Mu Beiting surprisingly complied!

”If there’s nothing else, I’ll get back to work!” The nurse said, nodding at Mu Beiting before leaving.

Knowing his father was worried about his mother, Xiao Bai held Mu Beiting’s hand to comfort him, ”Dad, don’t worry! Mom will be alright! I believe she’ll bravely give birth to my little brother or sister!”

Mu Huajian also offered comfort, ”Yes, Beiting, don’t worry. Medicine is so advanced now, Anxin will be fine!”

Mu Beiting swept them a light glance and then sat back in his previous seat!

Xiao Bai and Mu Huajian exchanged a look and also returned to their prior seats!

And so, another long wait began!

Before Ye Anxin came out of the delivery room, Ling Yueyue came rushing in from outside, with Huo Junmo by her side! Both were carrying a lot of stuff, bags big and small.

Seeing that Ling Yueyue finally arrived, Xiao Bai quickly went to greet her, ”Aunt Yueyue, you’re finally here!”

”If it weren’t for preparing things for your soon-to-be-born sister or brother, I would have been here earlier! She went into labor so suddenly, with no mental preparation, and I had to clear everything in a hurry—I was nearly worried sick!” As she spoke, Ling Yueyue anxiously asked, ”How is it? What’s the situation? Has Anxin come out yet?”

”No! She’s been in there a long time, but there’s been no news, and we don’t know how things are now,” Xiao Bai shook his head and then asked, ”Aunt Yueyue, what did you bring?”

Ling Yueyue placed her things on the chairs outside the delivery room and began rummaging through bags as she spoke, ”Swaddles, clothes, diapers, bottles, formula milk! I had swaddles and clothes at home, all meant to be gifts for your sister after she was born! But we didn’t have diapers, bottles, or formula at home! To get these, I had to bring our Mr. Huo into the picture, coaxing and pressuring people to open their doors for us on New Year’s Eve—missing out on their dinners! Luckily, I didn’t arrive too late, better late than never!”

Xiao Bai, with an innocent expression, said, ”We didn’t know either! Earlier, we were having a nice dinner, and then Mom suddenly said she had stomach pains and was going into labor! Everything happened too quickly, and we weren’t prepared at all!”

Ling Yueyue suddenly remembered something and asked, ”And the nanny? Have you contacted the nanny?”

Xiao Bai replied, ”Dad just called Uncle Pete! The nanny should be here any moment!”

Upon hearing this, Ling Yueyue breathed a sigh of relief but couldn’t help but grumble, ”That’s good! But isn’t your mom something, timing the birth to coincide with New Year’s Eve! What a way to spend the holiday!”

Hearing Ling Yueyue complain about his mother, Xiao Bai quickly defended her, ”Mom didn’t want it this way either! She hadn’t even finished her dinner!”

Ling Yueyue couldn’t help but roll her eyes at him, ”Alright, fine! I know you’re worried about your mom! So young, yet already shielding your mom like this!”

”...!” Xiao Bai gazed at Ling Yueyue without a word but with an unusually determined expression.

”I’m exhausted, I have to sit down and rest! When the mother and child come out, we’ll be busy again!” Saying this, she plopped down onto a chair.

Only after sitting down did she notice that, besides Mu Beiting and Xiao Bai, there was an elderly man with white hair present!
