The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Anning looked at Pei Yu, not really understanding what she was thinking.

Pei Yu got a bit anxious: ”Don’t look at me like that, I’m just thinking, life’s just like this, especially for us women. We’re only young and beautiful for a few years, so we might as well enjoy life while we are. Your third sister just wants to avoid work, eat well, and dress nicely. I’m not after that; I just want a good-looking, young, and strong guy.”

Anning understood that Pei Yu was somewhat in a self-destructive mindset.

She reached out to hug Pei Yu and whispered in her ear: ”Aunt, don’t worry, I will deal with the person who bullied you sooner or later.”

As soon as she said this, Anning could feel Pei Yu trembling all over.

Soon, hot tears fell onto Anning’s neck.

Pei Yu started to sob.

Thinking of Pei Yu’s fate in that past, Anning felt quite heartbroken as well.

In that life, Pei Yu was bullied and taken advantage of because of her beauty and bad reputation. The Pei Family didn’t have any influential people to stand up for her, so she was subject to much abuse. In the end, she couldn’t take it anymore and was driven mad.

Thinking about these things made Anning’s chest hurt with grief.

Pei Anyi was a bit at a loss seeing Pei Yu cry.

She hurriedly tried to comfort Pei Yu, but what she said was not very pleasant to hear.

”Aunt, don’t cry, okay? Why are you crying? If you like good-looking guys, I’ll find one for you. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll flirt with one and bring him home, and then you can...”

Anning slapped her in anger: ”Shut up.”

An Yi was quite afraid of Anning, so seeing her get angry, she quickly closed her mouth and didn’t speak.

Once Pei Yu had cried enough, Anning said: ”Aunt, I know you’re upset. I didn’t understand when I was young, but I do now. That’s why I brought you and third sister out. Back home, people gossip behind our backs, but in Dream City, no one knows us. We can start afresh.”

While wiping her tears, Pei Yu said: ”I know, I understand. When you said you wanted to take us south, I knew what you were thinking. Actually, it’s for the best. Now that we’re out, at least we won’t burden you. The Eldest and second are lazier and less practical, but at least their reputations aren’t as bad as ours.”

Anning wanted to explain something, but Pei Yu smiled and waved her hand: ”We’re family, so there’s no need to say those empty words. If you can settle us down, it’s like giving me and your third sister a lifeline.”

”Aunt, if you want to find a good-looking guy, you’ll need money. Look at my third sister; she’s pretty, and she wants to find a rich man to follow and live well. There are many like her; this isn’t about gender. If you just want to have fun, make good money first. Once you have money, you can find anyone you like. If not, there are many clubs in the city with...”

Anning lowered her voice, softly explaining the ins and outs to Pei Yu.

Pei Yu listened, her eyes shining as if she had found her direction.

”Ningning, just tell me, how can we make money?”

Actually, Anning had already thought it through, so she began to persuade Pei Yu: ”First, we need to improve ourselves. If you don’t know anything now, that won’t work. Let’s learn something first, then think of ways to make money.”

Pei Yu started thinking.

Just as they were pondering over the matter, Xiao Yuan returned.

After coming back, he took the three women out for a meal. When they returned to the hotel, Xiao Yuan shared what he had found out.

Xiao Yuan learned that there are some small commodity distribution centers here, as well as many clothing wholesale markets. There are also small factories processing scattered goods. Many people come here to buy goods to sell elsewhere. He specifically inquired about the market; watches and some electronics that are expensive back home are quite cheap here.

Xiao Yuan suggested that Anning take the third sister and little aunt to get some goods to flip. He planned to take money to the stock market and see if he could turn a profit.

Anning was a bit worried: ”The money we have could work for flipping small items, but for the stock market, it’s likely not enough.”

Xiao Yuan laughed: ”Just give me a little to test the waters. The stock market is just becoming regulated; I don’t fully understand it yet, so I don’t dare to invest a lot.”

Anning nodded: ”Alright, then let’s give it a try.”

While discussing with Xiao Yuan, they didn’t avoid Pei Yu and An Yi since they planned for the four of them to come out together and discuss matters together. Of course, they didn’t intend for Pei Yu and An Yi to come up with solutions.
