The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Xiao Yuan waited until Ning Ruoxi stopped crying, then said to her, ”You’d better go back and settle your mom. I’m afraid Rong Junhao might take revenge on her if he can’t find you.”

Ning Ruoxi was scared: ”Will he, will he really do that?”

Anning nodded: ”You never know.”

Ning Ruoxi hurriedly grabbed her things and headed out: ”I’ll send my mom away to my grandma’s place in the countryside.”

Anning saw her off: ”You have three days to get your mom settled. After three days, you need to join A Yuan for filming.”

”Okay.” Ning Ruoxi paused at the door, then said to Anning, ”Give me two days, I can arrange everything for my mom in two days.”

”Alright.” Anning smiled and took out her phone to transfer some money to Ning Ruoxi: ”This is your settlement fee, deducted from your future salary.”

Ning Ruoxi turned back and bowed to Anning: ”Thank you.”

After seeing Ning Ruoxi off, Anning returned, and Xiao Yuan asked her, ”What’s really going on with that Rong Junhao?”

Anning pulled Xiao Yuan to sit down, her expression particularly serious: ”Rong Junhao’s situation is similar to ours. He must have gone through many worlds too, but I’ve found that after so many experiences, he hasn’t settled down, instead, he seems even more volatile.”

”So that’s why you want to act this way, to attack the heart first.”

Xiao Yuan quickly guessed Anning’s intention.

Xiao Yuan guessed correctly, and Anning admitted: ”If I can attack the heart, why bother with direct confrontation? Who knows what he’s been through. What if he turns into a madman and drags us down with him?”

That’s true.

If Rong Junhao has also been through many Cultivation Worlds or interstellar worlds and gathered enough power before returning, and if he’s willing to risk his own soul to take Anning and Xiao Yuan down with him, then this time Anning and Xiao Yuan might really be doomed.

”Kill and destroy the heart.” Anning coldly smiled: ”I quietly asked Ning Ruoxi, and she told me the truth. She doesn’t love Rong Junhao at all. In the past year or so, she hasn’t fallen in love with him. The only reason she took care of him is because he helped her in high school, which left a good impression. But after taking care of him for more than a year, that impression has worn off.”

”What happened in that world?”

Xiao Yuan remembered Anning had told him that in that world, Rong Junhao and Ning Ruoxi were together.

Anning thought carefully: ”Ning Ruoxi didn’t lie to me. In this lifetime or that one, she never fell in love with Rong Junhao while taking care of him. So... Oh, yes, in that world, soon after Rong Junhao woke up, he secretly confessed to Ning Ruoxi. On the surface, she didn’t outright reject him, but later she left. Based on what Rong Junhao is doing now, I must have misunderstood Ning Ruoxi in that world.”

Xiao Yuan also pondered: ”You mean in that world, Ning Ruoxi rejected Rong Junhao, and Rong Junhao threatened her with her job and her mother, forcing Ning Ruoxi to stay in the Rong Family. Later, after Ning Ruoxi secretly settled her mom, she ran away.”

Anning nodded: ”I think that’s what happened. In that world, Rong Junhao searched for Ning Ruoxi for a long time until the Yun Family went bankrupt, and I committed suicide by jumping into the sea. That’s when Rong Junhao found Ning Ruoxi, and reportedly, the two got along pretty well. But I think that was just on the surface, and Ning Ruoxi wasn’t willing to stay with Rong Junhao. She might have been dragged back by him, and once in the Rong Family, she was imprisoned by him.”

Xiao Yuan thought for a while: ”I think your guess is probably the truth. Ning Ruoxi is clear-headed, a decent young girl with strong values. Under normal circumstances, she couldn’t possibly fall in love with Rong Junhao. After all, anyone could see that in that world, you treated Rong Junhao with all your heart. During the years when Rong Junhao was neither dead nor alive, you managed his family’s company for him with dedication and never talked about breaking the engagement. When Rong Junhao woke up, you never wronged him, and you two grew up together, naturally having special feelings for each other. Under these circumstances, Rong Junhao still turned his back on you, causing the Yun Family to go bankrupt and forcing you to your death. Who wouldn’t feel cold-hearted and scared seeing this? After all, who can guarantee they won’t be the next you?”

Anning mused: ”Exactly, Rong Junhao could betray someone he grew up with, and Ning Ruoxi knows this. She knows her relationship with Rong Junhao can’t compare to mine. She’s definitely afraid she’ll end up like I did. After all, she can’t guarantee that Rong Junhao will love her forever. If one day he stops loving her and falls in love with another woman, would he drive her to her death for that woman? Ning Ruoxi can’t take that risk.”

The more Anning thought about it, the more she believed she was right. She clapped: ”Ever since Rong Junhao woke up, he’s been hating Ning Ruoxi, which shows their ending in that world must have been terrible. Ning Ruoxi must have done something that infuriated him. This infers that Ning Ruoxi never loved Rong Junhao; she was imprisoned by him and lost her freedom for years, finally driven mad by Rong Junhao, leading to irrevocable actions.”

”Do you think, in that world, Ning Ruoxi might have killed Rong Junhao in the end, or perhaps she was unfaithful, joining another man to kill Rong Junhao?” Xiao Yuan suddenly asked Anning.

Anning slightly frowned: ”It’s very possible.”

She then thought of how Rong Junhao was now acting deeply in love with her, as if he couldn’t live without her, and couldn’t help but curse: ”Damn it, was he ultimately killed by Ning Ruoxi and then realized I was the one who sincerely cared for him all along, realizing he loved me instead?”

If that’s the case, Anning felt that unless Rong Junhao was gotten rid of, her life wouldn’t be peaceful.

Xiao Yuan also sensed the seriousness of the situation.

”That would be terrible.”

The two fell into silence.

After a long time, Anning smiled: ”It’s actually not that bad. Like I said, kill and destroy the heart. Now that Rong Junhao knows I have memories of that world, he should know I hate him. I guess he thinks I hate Ning Ruoxi even more. When he finds out I’ve given Ning Ruoxi a job and am exceptionally good to her, I think it’ll drive him crazy because he always blames others for his mistakes. He must think all the blame for wronging me falls on Ning Ruoxi, but for me to treat Ning Ruoxi so well should make him realize the fault lies with him. Forcing him to realize this will drive him mad.”

Xiao Yuan also laughed: ”We’ll respond to actions with calmness.”

Anning held Xiao Yuan’s hand: ”I said it’s best to attack the heart. I thought about this when I brought Ning Ruoxi back. The reason to help Ning Ruoxi is to save her and also to force Rong Junhao to act first so we can gauge his bottom line.”

Anning hugged Xiao Yuan: ”From now on, I’ll be especially, especially good to you, which will drive him even more insane. When someone is too crazy, they’ll do irrational things. But you must take care and don’t get hurt by him.”

Xiao Yuan chuckled: ”When have you ever seen me get hurt by anyone? Except for you, no one in this world can hurt me.”
