The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Rong Junhao frantically searched through the trash can, retrieving the items one by one.

Assistant Liu wanted to help, but Rong Junhao gave him a fierce glare: ”Get lost.”

Sitting in his wheelchair, he painstakingly and madly took out each item representing his feelings from years ago that he had given to Anning, not minding the dirt as he wiped them clean with his sleeve.

Standing aside, Assistant Liu watched him, seeing his messy state, inexplicably feeling some resentment towards Anning.

Assistant Liu thought Anning was too cold-hearted. Not to mention her breaking off the engagement because Rong Junhao became a vegetative state, even after he woke up, she wouldn’t visit unless he called her, proving she was a heartless person.

Rong Junhao fished out the scarf he had bought for Anning during their engagement from the trash can and, seeing the slightly worn scarf, hugged it and cried out loud.

That scarf was from the night they got engaged. He was so happy that he asked Anning to go out to watch fireworks with him that evening.

That night was especially cold, and the two of them held hands as they walked through the streets and alleys. Later, when it started to snow lightly, he was afraid Anning would catch cold, so he bought her a scarf from a street vendor. Anning also bought him a scarf and wrapped it around him.

The patterns on both scarves were similar, looking like a couple’s set. He was really thrilled back then.

Later, he often wore that scarf in winter. Although it was just a scarf worth a dozen yuan, he treasured it greatly and wore it for years. As it got worn, he didn’t dare to wear it anymore.

Seeing Anning’s scarf also slightly worn, he realized that back then, Anning was the same as him, carefully preserving their relationship.

Endless regret enveloped Rong Junhao.

He buried his face in the scarf: ”Why won’t you give me a chance, why do you have to leave me? Please come back, I’ll do anything as long as you return...”

Assistant Liu, feeling a bit uneasy, softly called out to Rong Junhao: ”President Rong.”

Rong Junhao looked up, his eyes red and slightly teary.

He carefully folded the scarf and placed it on his lap, continuing to search through the trash can: ”Assistant Liu, go find a bag and pack all these things up.”

Assistant Liu went to look in the car but couldn’t find one. He caught up with a garbage collector and asked for a black plastic bag.

Item by item, Assistant Liu carefully put the things Rong Junhao retrieved into the bag.

Rong Junhao kept taking out everything he had given to Anning until together with Assistant Liu they packed it all in the bag, and then Assistant Liu pushed him into the car.

As they were leaving, Rong Junhao glanced back at the old Yun Family residence.

There were so many memories there, he had spent many happy times there, but now, he couldn’t even enter.

Anning waited for Rong Junhao to leave before she drove back to the company.

On the way back to Mrs. Yun’s, Anning considered that Rong Junhao seemed particularly unstable and might be on the verge of a breakdown.

Anning was pondering whether or not to push him further.

If she continued to provoke Rong Junhao, there would be two outcomes: either he couldn’t take it and would destroy himself, or he’d take many down with him.

Later, Anning thought, based on Rong Junhao’s recovery, it wouldn’t take long for him to walk freely.

By then, he would definitely find out about Anning and Xiao Yuan. Even if Anning didn’t want to provoke him, he would be unable to bear it, so she might as well stir things up.

When Rong Junhao returned to the Rong Family, his mood had improved a lot.

He asked Assistant Liu to help him carry the things inside, then washed them clean one by one and put them in the cabinet in his room.

The scarf, he specifically took out to place next to the one in his closet. Two couple’s scarves together, as if he and Anning were together again.

Turning around, Rong Junhao asked Assistant Liu: ”Where is Ning Ruoxi now?”

After receiving the cold shoulder from Anning, Rong Junhao despised Ning Ruoxi deeply.

He was eager to find someone to vent his anger on, and Ning Ruoxi was the perfect choice.

Thinking how his whole life changed because Ning Ruoxi was ill that day, and he had to take care of her, thus missing the chance to save Anning, he hated Ning Ruoxi even more.

He believed Ning Ruoxi did it on purpose, she must have been jealous of Anning and faked illness to harm her.

Assistant Liu hesitated: ”Young Master Rong, Miss Ning she...”

”What about her? Is she still struggling with a mortgage, no job and no money...”

That’s the situation Rong Junhao could imagine for Ning Ruoxi.

Assistant Liu shook his head: ”No, Miss Ning found a job. She’s working as an assistant to a young artist.”

”What?” Rong Junhao turned his wheelchair to face Assistant Liu: ”A young artist? What is her relationship with him? Turns out she’s a fickle thing, just a few days and...”

Assistant Liu nervously bowed his head and spoke softly: ”Miss Ning’s job was arranged by Mr. Yun. That young artist is quite close to him.”

”Ningning doesn’t have any artist relatives, right?” Rong Junhao thought it over carefully: ”And none of our classmates from high school or college went into acting... Maybe it’s a friend she met later? Bring over that young artist’s information. Since it’s Ningning’s friend, I’ll lend a hand, help her out a bit.”

Rong Junhao assumed the young artist Assistant Liu mentioned was a female artist and was thinking of helping her to win Anning’s favor.

Instead, Assistant Liu brought over Xiao Yuan’s photo and some information. Rong Junhao glanced at it and threw the photo on the ground: ”It’s a man?”

Assistant Liu remained silent, which was as good as confirmation.

Rong Junhao frowned: ”You just said Ning Ruoxi was placed by Anning to this artist? What is Anning thinking?”

Assistant Liu shook his head: ”Mr. Yun’s thoughts aren’t something a mere mortal like me can guess.”

Rong Junhao waved his hand: ”Leave the information, you can go out now.”

Assistant Liu put down the information and quickly ran out.

Rong Junhao was left alone in the room.

He picked up the information, carefully reading it, then looked at the photo of Xiao Yuan on the ground and thought of Ning Ruoxi.

”Ningning, what should I do with you? Ning Ruoxi caused your death, yet you can forgive her, why can’t you forgive me? Or are you doing this on purpose, to take revenge on Ning Ruoxi?”

If that were the case, then Rong Junhao really couldn’t touch Ning Ruoxi now.

He feared provoking Anning if he did something wrong.

He looked down at Xiao Yuan’s information again: ”Only nineteen, Ningning might not be... maybe...”

Suddenly, Rong Junhao thought of a possibility.

He couldn’t help but laugh.

”Ningning, you still care about me, don’t you? You’re just upset. I hurt you so deeply, you must be trying to torment me, right? But you’re also afraid Ning Ruoxi would regain my attention, so you deliberately placed her with a handsome, good-natured young male artist. You want her to fall for him, don’t you?”

Rong Junhao felt his guess was correct.

After all, he and Anning had years of deep feelings. In that previous life, Anning went to such lengths for him, disregarding everything. For him, she would do anything, so deep, so intense was her love, it couldn’t just retract at will.
