The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Anning finally had some free time, so she drove to pick up her child from school.

She arrived at the school gate, drove around looking for a parking space, finally found one, and when she was backing up, unexpectedly, a person dashed out from behind, and Anning quickly hit the brakes, but the car still bumped into that person a little.

Anning parked the car, opened the door, and got out: ”Are you okay?”

The person on the ground was a young, pretty girl. She was wearing a beige turtleneck sweater and pencil pants and looked like she had a good figure.

”I’m fine, just twisted my foot trying to dodge quickly just now.”

The girl smiled at Anning when she got closer: ”I can’t get up right now, could you help me up?”

Anning went over to help the girl up: ”Do you need to go to the hospital to get it checked?”

The girl waved her hand: ”It’s nothing serious, I’ll go to a Chinese medicine clinic and get it pressed; it will be fine.”

”That’s fine too.”

Anning opened her wallet and handed some money to the girl: ”Anyway, it was my car that bumped you, this is for the medical fees, don’t refuse it.”

The girl was quite straightforward and reached out to take the money.

”Are you here to pick up your child?” the girl asked.

Anning nodded: ”Yes.”

The girl also laughed: ”I’m here to pick up my child too, you see, just parked the car and then...”

Anning looked at her watch, and the girl leaned closer, continuing to chat with Anning: ”Are you picking up your brother or sister?”

”My daughter.”

Anning replied.

”Wow, couldn’t tell you were already married and had a child, I thought you were about the same age as me.” The girl looked surprised: ”You’re really good at taking care of yourself, your skin is so nice, sister, how do you maintain it, teach me?”

”No maintenance, just natural.”

Anning’s voice grew increasingly indifferent.

Nonetheless, the girl seemed even more enthusiastic: ”Sister, which grade is your child in?”

Anning chuckled: ”First year of high school.”

”Oh, my brother is also in the first year of high school, which class is your child in, maybe they know each other.” The girl kept trying different ways to get closer to Anning.

”Class three.” Anning spoke briefly, then looked down at her watch: ”My child is about to finish school, I need to go pick them up, let’s not chat anymore.”

Anning got up and left, just reached the school gate for a little while, when Mingzhu and Mingyu came out carrying school bags.

”Mom.”

Seeing Anning, both children were quite happy.

Anning took their hands to the car.

The girl hadn’t left yet: ”Sister, these are your two daughters, they really are beautiful.”

She smiled and asked Mingzhu and Mingyu: ”Classmates, do you know Sun Fan?”

Su Mingzhu thought for a moment: ”He’s in our class.”

”Well, we really are fated.”

The girl looked at Anning: ”My name is Sun Mi, what is your name, sister?”

Anning simply smiled without stating her name, opened the car door to let the two children sit inside, and then went to drive.

After a few days, seeing the weather changing, Anning took some time to get clothes for the elders and children at home, and while shopping, she bumped into Sun Mi.

”Sister, we’ve met again.”

Sun Mi smiled and greeted Anning.

Beside her stood a tall, handsome man, who looked at Sun Mi with a face full of loving tenderness: ”Mimi, is this your sister?”

Sun Mi shook her head: ”No, it’s Sun Fan’s classmate’s mom, we met at the school gate.”

”Oh.”

The man nodded, then smiled at Anning: ”Hello.”

Anning nodded and turned to leave.

Sun Mi felt somewhat aggrieved: ”Does she think I’m a scammer?”

”What’s going on?”

The man asked Sun Mi.

Sun Mi explained how Anning accidentally knocked her over while parking, gave her medical fees, and she accepted it.

The man frowned: ”Why didn’t you tell me before; she hit someone, giving money is the right thing to do, how come you turned into a scammer later, also she knows your brother is a classmate of her daughter, yet she behaves so indifferently, really thankless.”

”Don’t say that.”

Sun Mi tugged on the man: ”Maybe I’m just not likable, but I do genuinely like that sister.”

Anning walked far away but could still hear their conversation.

She couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh.

Back home, before going to bed, Anning told Xiao Yuan about these incidents: ”I just can’t figure out what Yi Qihang is up to, logically he should be looking for you, why can’t he stop bothering me.”

Xiao Yuan listened with an angry face: ”Turned into a woman but still full of mischief, huh, really something.”

Anning laughed, comforting Xiao Yuan: ”Don’t be mad, his issue is pretty easy to solve, soon enough, I’ll make sure he can’t stir up any trouble again.”

The next day, Anning tidied up and prepared to return to the laboratory.

She stayed in the lab for a while and upon leaving, ran into the woman Yi Qihang had transformed into a few more times; Anning slowly approached Sun Mi in secret without any noticeable action.

On this day, Anning went to pick up the child again and bumped into Sun Mi once more.

She familiarly greeted Sun Mi, who smiled: ”Sister, didn’t expect to see you again.”

Anning then invited Sun Mi: ”Got some time? If so, come to my house for a visit.”

Sun Mi quickly agreed: ”Sure.”

So, the two picked up the children and went to Anning’s home for a bit.

After Sun Mi left, Anning called out her bodyguard who had been secretly protecting her.

They went into the study, and when they came out, the bodyguard was holding a large file bag; Anning ordered: ”This matter is very important, make sure to deliver it yourself.”

Once the bodyguard left, Anning’s lips curled into a bright smile.

Su Mingzhu saw this and silently mourned for certain people.

Su Mingzhu had long suspected that Sun Mi was deliberately trying to get close to their family.

However, Su Mingzhu didn’t know who Sun Mi really was; she always thought Sun Mi was some kind of spy.

After another two days, Anning heard from the bodyguard that Sun Mi had been taken away on espionage charges.

Then, several men who were close to Sun Mi earlier were also taken for investigation.

When Xiao Yuan returned, Anning remarked: ”The problem is solved; some issues need to leverage others’ strength, no need for us to intervene too much.”

Xiao Yuan laughed and hugged Anning: ”I don’t see him as a threat, just find him annoying.”

”He won’t be able to bother you anymore.”

Turning around, Anning embraced Xiao Yuan.

Sun Mi, or Yi Qihang, couldn’t have expected to be taken by the authorities and placed in a sealed space for interrogation.

At first, Yi Qihang was defiant: ”What are you doing, I am a legal citizen, haven’t committed any crimes, why arrest me?”

When the two interrogating him presented some documents, Yi Qihang was too scared to speak.

No matter what, he had never really been capable, in his first life he was ordinary, living well because he married a good wife, and in the second life he thrived relying on foresight, but a slight move from Xiao Yuan sent him plummeting.

His character was not tenacious, more of a coward, and seeing those documents listing his entire life and details of his sex-change and plastic surgery operation scared him.

”I, I, I just like changing sex, is that wrong? I was afraid of being judged, so I got a new identity, that’s my fault, but this shouldn’t be enough to bring me here, right?”

Yi Qihang tried stubbornly to resist.

But those who brought him here did not listen to his excuses: ”Ms. Yang is a scientist highly valued by the country, she is currently involved in vital scientific research, which concerns national secrets, and you intentionally tried to get close to her, repeatedly creating opportunities for ’accidental’ encounters, we have to suspect you of attempting to steal intelligence.”

The interrogators calmly explained: ”Additionally, you have abnormal energy fluctuations, which further strengthens our suspicion that you’re engaged in espionage.”

”No.”

Yi Qihang was truly terrified: ”What energy fluctuations, there’s nothing on me...”

But no matter what he claimed, he was still transferred to a special research institute, where Anning also arrived, bringing personnel to study the system within Yi Qihang.
