The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Anning washed up and came downstairs, seeing that the nanny had already prepared breakfast, she called upstairs: ”Mingzhu, Mingyu, come down for breakfast quickly, and let Uncle Li take you to school after you’re done eating.”

Su Mingzhu poked her head out from the second floor: ”Mom, just a moment.”

After about four or five minutes, Su Mingzhu came downstairs.

She was wearing the Peiying School uniform, a white shirt and a checkered short skirt, her hair tied in a ponytail, bouncing down the stairs full of youthful energy.

Old Madam smiled when she saw Su Mingzhu: ”Oh my, our Mingzhu looks so lively today.”

Su Mingzhu ran over and hugged the Old Madam: ”Of course, starting today I’m a high schooler, gotta be full of spirit.”

She turned back and called upstairs again: ”Mingyu, hurry up and come down.”

Su Mingyu came down with a small cool face, carrying her backpack, and seriously greeted the Old Madam, ”Good morning, Ms. Ge.”

The Old Madam was amused: ”You’re doing well too.”

Anning let the two kids sit down to eat, and while eating, she said, ”I’ve already spoken with the school, I have some things to attend to today, so I won’t be taking you, let Uncle Li take you to school. Oh, by the way, Mingzhu and Mingyu are not in the same class this time, Mingyu is in class one, while Mingzhu is in class three.”

”Oh, I got it.”

Su Mingzhu nodded.

She knew in her heart that she wasn’t the type with a high IQ. From elementary school to middle school, her grades were always good because she was reborn. But even being reborn couldn’t boost her intelligence. In the first couple of years of middle school, things were okay because the content was simpler, and she could pretend to be a top student. But when she got to the third year, those truly intelligent kids started to shine, and her grades began to slip.

At first, Su Mingzhu was very discouraged and in a bad mood.

Later on, it was Anning who comforted her, telling her that no matter what, they would love her very much, and to lift her spirits, even specifically took leave for her and took her out for a trip. This gradually led Su Mingzhu to accept reality.

This time during the high school entrance exam, Su Mingyu still scored first place, and she even scored higher than a perfect score.

Because Su Mingyu participated in various large competitions at school, the bonus points from these competitions were already quite a lot. Her score originally was just one point short of perfect, and with the bonus points, she obviously exceeded a perfect score by quite a bit, deserving the title of first place in the whole city, with many schools clamoring to have Su Mingyu attend.

However, since they had their own school, why go to another one? Su Mingyu still chose Peiying High School, sticking with Peiying through thick and thin.

Su Mingzhu did fairly well, but wasn’t placed in the top two classes. She was assigned to class three.

After finishing her meal, Su Mingyu pushed her bowl aside, took a napkin, and wiped the corners of her mouth: ”Sister, if you want to go to class one, I can help you with extra classes.”

”No need.”

Su Mingzhu quickly waved her hand: ”I’m fine in class three, I’m not as smart as you, I wouldn’t be able to keep up in class one.”

Since that’s the case, Su Mingyu didn’t press further, and stood up: ”Let’s go.”

At school, Su Mingyu went to class one, while Su Mingzhu found her way to class three.

She went in with her backpack, and as she entered the classroom, many familiar faces greeted her.

Class three had many students from Peiying Middle School, and upon seeing Su Mingzhu they smiled and said: ”Mingzhu, over here, over here.”

Some boys even stood up to offer Su Mingzhu a seat.

Su Mingzhu found a spot to sit, and next to her was her middle school friend, Li Hui.

”You’re also in class three?”

Li Hui asked Su Mingzhu softly: ”I thought you’d be in class one.”

Su Mingzhu chuckled: ”Mingyu is in class one.”

”Su Mingyu is simply unbelievable.”

Li Hui said indignantly: ”Who scores higher than perfect? How are others supposed to survive?”

Su Mingzhu put her backpack aside: ”What do you mean by saying that in front of me?”

Li Hui quickly smiled: ”So tell me, is your sister’s IQ normal?”

Su Mingzhu handed Li Hui a lollipop: ”My mom says my sister takes after her, and I take after my dad.”

As they were chatting, a few more classmates entered the classroom, and Su Mingzhu noticed a familiar figure, whispering to Li Hui: ”How did she also end up in class three?”

Li Hui shrugged: ”Who knows, but it’s odd she didn’t make it to class one, she used to act like such a big deal.”

They were talking about Xiao Mei.

Xiao Mei was originally a grade below Su Mingzhu. Later, in fifth grade, she took the middle school entrance exam early and scored quite impressively, then skipped a grade to be with Su Mingzhu and Su Mingyu.

Even though they were classmates, Su Mingzhu didn’t quite like Xiao Mei.

She wouldn’t say she disliked Xiao Mei, but she didn’t like her either.

”Where do you think she’s going to sit?”

Su Mingzhu quietly asked Li Hui.

Li Hui replied softly: ”She’ll definitely sit next to a boy, I feel like she’ll probably sit next to Tang Feiyu.”

Sure enough, Xiao Mei scanned the room and walked with her bag to Tang Feiyu’s side.

Before she could sit down, Tang Feiyu quickly placed a book on the chair beside him: ”This spot is taken.”

Xiao Mei’s eyes flickered, but she finally smiled and sat down in the back.

”See, told you so.”

Li Hui was quite pleased with herself.

Su Mingzhu took out a book to block her face and spoke softly to Li Hui: ”Are you still learning the Guqin?”

Li Hui shook her head: ”Stopped long ago, high school courses are tight, probably no time to learn anymore.”

”I’m still learning, my dad doesn’t relax on any of my courses. Now I also practice calligraphy every day, my mom’s teaching me the lute, and she even said she wants to find time to teach me and Mingyu embroidery. My goodness, spare me.”

”Is your mom raising a college student or an ancient boudoir lady?”

Li Hui counted on her fingers: ”You’ve been learning all sorts of things since elementary school, like calligraphy, traditional painting, and so many instruments, your dad even teaches you martial arts, and now embroidery? Seriously, being the Su family’s little princess isn’t easy. If it were me, I would’ve given up long ago.”

Although Su Mingzhu complained, she held no grievances against Anning and Xiao Yuan in her heart.

Honestly, she felt there weren’t better or more responsible parents than hers.

Xiao Yuan and Anning were so busy with work, but they’d still make time to teach her and Su Mingyu. Anning personally arranged all her courses from childhood, many taught by Anning herself, who always made learning enjoyable and never forced her or made her feel it was hard or dull.

Somehow she always felt she was learning while playing.

”What you learn belongs to you. I think even though studying is hard at times, once you learn it, it brings a lot of joy.”

Su Mingzhu said, then told Li Hui: ”Come to my place after school today, my dad said he’s cooking dinner tonight.”

”My God is cooking?

Li Hui instantly nodded enthusiastically: ”Of course I’ll come, my God is not only good-looking, his cooking is absolutely delicious. Only a fool wouldn’t go.”
