The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Geng Shuhua had been crying continuously.

Especially after seeing Anning, her sense of shame grew stronger, feeling unworthy to face Anning.

Su Liang was also feeling quite guilty and uncomfortable: ”We really didn’t expect that in just a moment, the child would be gone. If I had known, I wouldn’t have watched them play chess.”

The Old Madam wanted to complain a few lines, but seeing Su Liang and Geng Shuhua feeling so distressed, what else could she say?

If she uttered any complaints, wouldn’t it force the Su family couple to seek death?

Anning was very anxious, but she didn’t blame her parents-in-law.

”Dad, Mom, now is not the time to cry; we need to quickly find a way to locate the child. After all, the child just went missing, so they are easier to find. Once time passes, I’m afraid it will be too late.”

”Right, right, let’s hurry and search.”

Su Liang got up and walked out, with Geng Shuhua following behind.

At this moment, Anning’s phone rang.

She saw a message on the phone and immediately took out the laptop she brought.

Anning opened the laptop and sat down.

Yang Erchou became even more anxious seeing her like this: ”What are you doing? How can you check the computer at a time like this? You...”

Anning raised her hand, signaling Yang Erchou not to worry.

She quickly entered commands on the computer and then called the police station: ”I’ve located the children; I need your cooperation to bring them back quickly.”

Soon, a van stopped at the hotel entrance.

Anning boarded the van with her laptop.

Once she got on, Xiao Yuan hurriedly returned and sat inside the vehicle.

Anning, unable to spare time to talk to Xiao Yuan, continued entering commands into the computer, closely monitoring the children’s whereabouts.

Sitting in the car, Su Mingyu quietly took out a packet of Medicine Pills from the small cloth bag she carried and gave one to Su Mingzhu.

”Sister, swallow it.”

Su Mingzhu obediently swallowed the pill.

Su Mingyu swallowed a pill as well.

Then, she took out a very small medicine bottle.

She opened the cap, emitting a faint fragrance.

”Pretend to sleep.”

Su Mingzhu knew what Su Mingyu was doing and quickly reminded her.

Su Mingyu tilted her head and closed her eyes, appearing as if she had fallen asleep.

Su Mingzhu also slumped on the backseat, closing her eyes tightly.

The driver in front wrinkled his nose: ”What smells so good?”

The person sitting in the passenger seat also took a sniff: ”It really does smell quite fragrant.”

After a moment, the driver’s eyes grew heavier; he tried to keep them open, but he lacked energy.

”I can’t do it; I’m so sleepy.”

Afraid of an accident, the driver stopped the car by the roadside.

He turned to look and saw the person in the passenger seat already sound asleep.

At this point, the driver realized something must have gone wrong.

He tried to push open the car door to get out.

But when he reached out, he found his whole body was soft, lacking any strength.

The driver was shocked and turned to check on Su Mingyu and Su Mingzhu, but found himself too weak to move, eyelids unbearably heavy.

Once the driver also collapsed, Su Mingyu nudged Su Mingzhu.

”Sister, they’re asleep.”

Su Mingzhu opened her eyes to check on the two people sleeping in the front.

”What should we do now?”

She asked Su Mingyu.

Su Mingyu frowned: ”Watch this.”

She took a pen out of her small bag, then crawled up to the front seats.

Holding the pen, Su Mingyu scribbled all over the two people’s faces, many ghost talismans, and finally wrote the words ”human trafficker.”

”That’s too lenient on them.”

Su Mingzhu felt letting the traffickers off like this was not right.

Su Mingyu smiled: ”This pen was made by mom’s senior brother. The ink inside has a strong dye effect; it won’t wash off the skin and will also cause some damage.”

”I see.”

Su Mingzhu clapped her hands: ”Mom’s senior brother is amazing.”

The smile on Su Mingyu’s face faded: ”It’s just alright. I’m just too young; otherwise, I could have done it myself.”

Su Mingzhu felt like she took a massive blow.

If anyone asked her how it felt having a genius sister, she would say it was not pleasant because around her sister, she always felt as dumb as a pig.

Fortunately, her family was good; mom and dad loved them and didn’t favor her sister for being smarter. This made Su Mingzhu not feel imbalanced or jealous of her sister. If it were another family, Su Mingzhu couldn’t guarantee how things would be.

”What do we do next?”

Su Mingzhu asked again.

Su Mingyu retrieved phones from those two traffickers and put them in her small bag: ”Let’s get off the car first, then call the police.”

”Okay.”

Su Mingzhu and Su Mingyu pushed the car door open and stepped out.

Once they got out, they dared not wander too far because this road was really deserted, and no one was in sight for a long time. They didn’t know where they were; if they went too far, who knows, someone might kidnap them again.

The two children found a place to hide.

Then Su Mingzhu took out a phone and dialed the police hotline.

Su Mingyu sat on the ground, continuously checking the phone.

”What are you looking at?”

Su Mingzhu asked.

Su Mingyu looked up at Su Mingzhu: ”I’m checking who the traffickers contacted, any information that might lead us to find more of their accomplices and save more children.”

This made sense.

Su Mingzhu also began carefully checking the phone.

The two children didn’t wait long before Anning came with people to find them.

As soon as she and Xiao Yuan got out of the car, Su Mingzhu, hiding behind the bushes, shouted loudly: ”Dad, Mom, we’re here...”

Anning quickly ran over. Seeing the children safe and sound, she sighed in relief.

Xiao Yuan also came over and picked the children out of the bushes.

”How did you two escape?”

Su Mingyu pointed at the car: ”Those two were stupid; they used knockout medicine on us but weren’t prepared against it themselves.”

Xiao Yuan understood; Su Mingyu used the knockout medicine to put the traffickers to sleep, allowing the two children to escape.

He lightly tapped Su Mingyu’s bottom: ”In the future, don’t be so reckless. Do you realize the consequences of putting traffickers to sleep while you’re inside the car?”

Seeing Su Mingyu’s eyes turn red with grievance, her little face full of consternation, Xiao Yuan couldn’t help but feel heartache.

But he still hardened his heart to educate them: ”What if the traffickers fell asleep without having time to stop the car? You two kids sitting in a car with no driver, how dangerous is that? The car might crash into a tree, roll into a ditch, or even hit another car. By then, could your little lives still be safe?”

Su Mingzhu was also being educated by Anning. She listened quietly, not daring to speak.

Indeed, as Xiao Yuan said, they hadn’t thoroughly considered their actions. They only thought of taking down the traffickers without considering their own safety. This was a moving vehicle; danger could happen at any moment.

”I know my mistake.”

Su Mingzhu bowed her head to admit her fault.

But Su Mingyu was very stubborn: ”I’ve calculated; that situation wouldn’t have occurred, and even if it did, I could drive the car to a safe place to stop. I know how to drive.”

”Remarkable, huh.”

Xiao Yuan said grumpily: ”Being able to drive is amazing, huh? Ming Yu, you have to remember that things in this world are never foolproof just because you calculated them. Accidents happen anytime, and I hope you can always stay vigilant and cautious, not letting your intelligence inflate your ego.”

Those words were harsh, and Su Mingyu became even more aggrieved and upset.
