The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Anning has been staying in a hotel for the past few days.

Not far from the hotel where Anning is staying is the new development by Yiqihang Company.

Yi Qihang considers himself to be reborn, believing he carries an aura like Long Aotian, commanding loyalty from all around just by his presence.

He thinks the followers he has gathered are all loyal to him.

He also believes that his woman is devoted to him.

Therefore, he trusts these people completely.

Yi Group Real Estate is not only filled with Yi Qihang’s followers, but also with people he had good relationships with before he became successful, as well as his woman’s relatives.

For example, people like Xiao Li and those opportunistic like Yang Fugui.

They don’t understand real estate at all, they’re just in it for the money.

With so many people at Yi Group Real Estate who don’t know the industry and only want to make a quick buck, how can it possibly do well?

After so much siphoning, one can only imagine the quality of the houses they build.

Anning didn’t fully believe the information gathered from the investigation; she personally went to the construction site to verify.

The quality of those houses was really substandard; some didn’t even use qualified steel bars, and many places used bamboo sticks instead.

Letting homeowners live in such houses is harmful.

During this period, most people preferred to buy completed properties. Yi Group’s development was not complete, so not many people had bought it, but as the development was nearing its completion, more people started coming to buy in recent days.

This morning, Anning began assembling the machine in her hotel room.

Soon, a drone was assembled by her.

She placed a laptop in the hotel room, connected the computer to the drone, opened the window, and let the drone out.

She controlled the drone to fly over Yi Group’s development.

Anning had previously calculated accurately, adding some data and instructions during the drone assembly.

Using these instructions, she controlled the drone to crash into a newly topped-out building of Yi Group.

With that crash, the building shook twice and then collapsed with a roar.

And as that building fell, it crashed onto the development behind it, bringing down four buildings in succession.

At this time, Yi Group’s sales office was promoting an event, pulling prospective homeowners who wanted to buy a house into the office to view models.

The fall of the four buildings produced a huge sound, shaking the sales office as if there was an earthquake.

Homeowners rushed out to see what was happening.

Upon seeing the situation, many turned pale with fear.

Four buildings collapsing under the clear sky, despite the staff’s boastful claims about how great the development was, how solidly the houses were constructed, and the quality of materials used—calling it good?

Damn it, the houses hadn’t even been occupied yet and they collapsed. If someone had actually bought a house here, they’d be at a huge loss.

Others thought about how lucky they were for not going in to look, otherwise, they would’ve been crushed to death.

Fortunately, at this time, Yi Group was thinking about holding an event and wanted to take homeowners to view the houses, so there was no construction today. No workers were in the development, nor had they organized homeowners to enter the community, so there were no casualties.

However, some people who bought properties from Yi Group began to look panicked and after regaining composure, rushed to the sales office demanding refunds.

Anning had already recalled the drone by this time.

She disassembled the drone and packed it into her bag, packed up the laptop, checked out of the room, and left.

Anning took a taxi back to school, and as soon as she entered, she hurriedly looked for Professor Zeng from the Physics department who taught her.

Professor Zeng thought highly of Anning, admired her greatly, taught her many things, and even invited her over for meals.

The couple was the kind of scholars who were entirely devoted to research, with good character and temperament, and Anning had great respect for Professor Zeng and his wife.

She soon arrived at Professor Zeng’s doorstep.

Coincidentally, Professor Zeng and his wife had just returned from grocery shopping.

Seeing Anning rushing to his door, with a pale face and eyes full of panic, he was startled.

”Anning, what are you doing here? Did something happen?”

Professor Zeng asked Anning while unlocking the door.

Anning took a deep breath, and upon seeing Professor Zeng, her eyes turned red, and tears started falling: ”Professor, I’ve made a mistake.”

”Come inside first.”

Mrs. Zeng smiled and took Anning’s hand to lead her inside: ”Come in and have some water before talking.”

Once inside, Professor Zeng put down the groceries before asking Anning, ”Tell me, what happened?”

Anning lowered her head and remained silent for a long time, before wiping her tears, and looking up at Professor Zeng: ”Professor, I’ve really messed up, I won’t be sentenced, right? I don’t want to go to jail.”

Professor Zeng’s expression grew darker: ”Explain what exactly happened?”

Anning stammered, ”I, I’ve been doing research lately. I built a drone by myself. I just wanted to test fly it, but I couldn’t try it at school, so I wanted to find an open area. I rented a hotel room yesterday and spent all night assembling the drone. Just as dawn broke today, it was ready. I controlled it to test fly, but who knew—who knew what was wrong with my drone? Anyways, at one moment, it lost control and crashed into Yi Group’s development, bringing down four buildings.”

Anning started crying again at this point: ”Professor, I really didn’t mean it. Who knew Yi Group’s development was so fragile? My drone is so small, how could it bring down the building with just one crash? Do you think Yi Group will send someone to kill me?”

Professor Zeng’s expression went through a big change, from concern to shock to delight, and then to anger.

”A drone? You built a drone?”

Anning nodded: ”I just wanted to try and build one, and ended up really doing it.”

She added: ”Professor, my drone can be invisible; when it crashed into the building, no one saw it; Yi Group probably doesn’t know I’m the one who brought down their building, right? They’re not going to sue me, are they?”

Professor Zeng grew more delighted.

He pulled Anning to stand: ”Come, I’ll take you somewhere to test fly it again.”

This time, Professor Zeng called someone over.

The person came by car, and Professor Zeng took Anning to the car all the way to the suburbs.

Anning assembled the drone in the car.

When the car stopped in a very open area, Anning connected the computer to the drone and controlled it to fly out.

”Make the drone invisible,” Professor Zeng said.

Anning input a few commands on the computer, and the drone disappeared from Professor Zeng’s view.

Professor Zeng was trembling with excitement, ”Anning, does anyone else know you built a drone?”

Anning shook her head: ”I did it myself, apart from you and this driver, no one knows.”

”Good, good, good.” Professor Zeng said three times: ”You don’t have to worry, what’s happening with Yi Group is nothing. With your drone, no one will do anything to you, besides, Yi Group’s houses collapsed because of their own quality issues, what’s it got to do with you?”

Professor Zeng started to defend her.

He gestured to the driver, who immediately made a call.

Soon, several cars arrived, escorting Anning back to collect her materials, research notes, and recorded data.

Meanwhile, Anning’s drone and computer were requisitioned.

Of course, she herself was taken to the research institute.

Once Anning entered the research institute, the media began vigorously reporting on the collapse of Yi Group’s development.

The quality inspection department started intervening, and once they checked, the quality problems of Yi Group’s houses were thoroughly exposed.

As Yi Qihang was losing everything in Hai City, a call came in, notifying him of Yi Group’s development collapse and that the authorities wanted him back for investigation.

Yi Qihang was completely dumbfounded.

Fear followed quickly, he immediately booked a flight to return.
