The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

This really worried Fang Jianhua.

Yang Anzhen tugged on Fang Jianhua’s sleeve and smiled while saying to Director Yu: ”I’ll talk to my dad later, by the way, let’s pay the deposit first.”

Director Yu waved his hand: ”Don’t give it to me. Tomorrow, you should go to the factory and find the accountant. Just pay it there and get the paperwork done.”

So the couple took the money back.

The next day, Yang Anzhen didn’t go to work and had Fang Jianhua take her to the Yang Family.

Last night, when Yang Erchou woke up, Anning had already talked to him about buying a house.

Yang Erchou felt that Anning was promising. Having stayed in the Capital, his horizon was definitely broader than his own, and he was willing to listen to Anning. Since Anning suggested buying a house, he thought he had enough money anyway, so he agreed.

However, when he woke up early, Yang Anzhen mentioned it was better to buy more, which left Yang Erchou a bit confused.

”Where can I find people who are willing to buy a house and have money?”

Anning laughed upon hearing this: ”No problem. Sister, let brother-in-law agree, and I’ll contact my classmates later. I have several classmates whose families are wealthy; they’ll definitely want to buy houses too.”

Yang Anzhen was relieved after hearing that.

After breakfast, Anning said she would take a walk in the village and stepped out of the house.

She followed the small path to the foot of the mountain.

The weather was freezing cold at the time, and the wind was blowing fiercely at the foot of the mountain, keeping people away from the chill. When Anning arrived, Xiao Yuan had just come over.

Anning held Xiao Yuan back to speak in whispers.

”Take this opportunity and buy a few houses for your family. It’ll prevent future quarrels from ruining your reputation. The houses are cheap now. Buy them first and transfer them to their names once the place develops. One house per person, fair and square. If they want to stir trouble, they can’t.”

To Anning, buying houses for the Xiao Family wasn’t a big deal. Solving the future worries with a little money seemed very worthwhile to her.

Xiao Yuan also felt this was feasible.

”Alright, I’ll go talk to Director Yu today.”

Besides Xiao Yuan, the Xiao Family has six children. Adding Xiao Qun and his spouse makes seven houses. Seven family courtyard houses plus seven street-side houses would ensure that even if they’re lazy and don’t like to work, they still have a place to live and rental income. They won’t starve.

Xiao Yuan then said to Anning: ”How about you accompany me to the county today? I’ll go to the bank and get some money for you.”

Anning thought for a while: ”Okay, if I give the money to my sister, I won’t have to go back to school early.”

They agreed, and Anning slowly made her way back.

Xiao Yuan returned saying he had to go to the county for some errands.

He borrowed a bicycle and rode to the county. When he got to the county, Anning had arrived too.

Xiao Yuan and Anning found a place to eat before going to the bank to withdraw money.

Xiao Yuan withdrew half a million, gave Anning 150,000, and carried the rest in a snakeskin bag, riding his bicycle to the textile factory.

Once there, Xiao Yuan first found Director Yu and explained that he came to buy houses because he heard from Yang Anzhen that houses were being sold here.

When Xiao Yuan mentioned buying several houses, it delighted Director Yu.

With Xiao Yuan buying seven street-side houses, plus the six houses that Yang Anzhen and her father wanted, most of the street-side houses were sold. The remaining family courtyard houses would be easier to sell since they’re priced at 15,000 per unit, cheaper than the street-side houses.

Thus, Director Yu immediately took Xiao Yuan to the accountant to pay the money, got the receipt, and arranged for someone to help Xiao Yuan with the property certificates. By the end of the day, most of the procedures were almost finished.

Meanwhile, Anning, having received the money, didn’t go home either.

She went to find Fang Jianhua.

Fang Jianhua was at work in the workshop. When his colleagues told him someone was looking for him, he was puzzled. He came out to see Anning and laughed: ”Why are you here? Have you eaten yet? Let brother-in-law take you for a meal.”

Anning waved her hand: ”No need, I’ve eaten. I came to give you money.”

”Where did you get the money?”

Fang Jianhua was stunned.

After all, Anning had mentioned she would send money once she reached the Capital.

Anning smiled: ”I borrowed it from a classmate. One of my classmates has a wealthy family. She’s quite well-off. I called her this morning and borrowed the money. I’ll repay her once I’m in the Capital.”

”She lent you money just over a phone call?”

Fang Jianhua found it quite incredible.

Anning explained: ”She and I have a good relationship. She knows I’ve earned money from translating books and will definitely repay her.”

That makes sense. After all, they’re classmates, studying together for four years. Anning couldn’t avoid returning it. What’s more, Anning isn’t short of money; she just needs to manage it temporarily.

Fang Jianhua, after thinking about it, felt Anning’s reason was sufficiently convincing.

Anning handed a black plastic bag to Fang Jianhua: ”There are 120,000 inside. Count it.”

Fang Jianhua was startled, his face turning white: ”Sister, did you just carry it over like this?”

Anning nodded: ”Hmm, who would think there’s money in a trash bag?”

Fang Jianhua, acting like a thief, hugged the plastic bag tightly: ”I should quickly pay the money. Holding it makes me nervous.”

Anning followed Fang Jianhua to the accountant. Until then, Fang Jianhua hadn’t paid the deposit; he just paid the full amount at once and started working on the paperwork.

Anning helped Yang Erchou pay the deposit.

By the time Anning returned from the county, it was nearly dark.

She came back and told Yang Anzhen: ”Sister, my classmate’s family bought seven houses, so I took the chance to pay the deposit for our family too. Oh, and I borrowed money from my classmate in the Capital, brother-in-law has already bought the house with full payment.”

”Really?”

Yang Anzhen was overjoyed: ”That’s great! Tomorrow, I’ll go check out the new house. I heard our factory’s houses are really good. They don’t need decoration and can be moved into directly.”
