The Comeback of the Cannon-Fodder Supporting Actress

Yang Anzhen knew Anning had money, so she was eager to pay the deposit to secure the house.

Anning took her into the bedroom, where the sisters whispered privately.

Anning said to her: ”Sis, to be honest, the place where your factory is building houses is really great. If you can buy, buy a few more units; you won’t lose out, especially street-facing houses. Buy at least three units, and if you can buy more, I’ll tell Dad, let him put some money into it, you help him buy a few units.”

”Does Dad want to buy?”

Yang Anzhen was still unsure.

Anning assured her: ”Leave it to me, I’ll talk to him properly. Besides, we are not spending his money now; the money he has in the bank isn’t earning much interest anyway. It’s better to invest it in real estate or something.”

”Then I’ll go back and discuss it with your brother-in-law.”

Yang Anzhen also didn’t know how many units each person could buy in the factory, so she didn’t dare decide.

Anning laughed and whispered: ”Later on, let my brother-in-law bring some things to the factory leaders to talk.”

Yang Anzhen understood: ”Okay, I guess this deal can be made. The factory is not doing well now, so they are thinking about building houses to sell. After all, the land was previously allocated to the factory; the leaders are just thinking about building houses to sell and make more money. But you know, the workers in our factory don’t have much money; the houses will be built and won’t sell, and the leaders are anxious.”

The sisters were talking when Fang Jianhua came to pick up Yang Anzhen.

Yang Anzhen took Fang Jianhua and explained the house buying situation.

Fang Jianhua heard Anning had money and still wanted to lend it to them to buy a house; he was extremely happy: ”Ningning, don’t worry, my sister and I will definitely repay you.”

Anning waved her hand: ”No rush, I’m doing it for my sister and my nephew. As long as they’re doing well, it’s fine with me. Repay slowly, I’m not in a hurry to use the money.”

Fang Jianhua was even more touched: ”We still have some money in hand. I’ll gather a bit more and pay the deposit first. The factory leader has made it clear that after paying the deposit, within half a month all the money must be paid, otherwise not only won’t the house be bought, but the deposit won’t be returned.”

”Half a month is enough; I’ll leave early and transfer the money when I get to school.”

Anning guaranteed Fang Jianhua.

The three discussed for a while longer, and then Fang Jianhua took Yang Anzhen home.

The couple went home and looked at their passbook.

Back when the two got married, the Fang Family gave Yang Anzhen a two thousand yuan dowry, the Yang Family didn’t take the dowry money, it was all given to Yang Anzhen, plus another ten thousand yuan as a wedding gift. Of course, on the surface five thousand was given, and the other five thousand was only known by Yang Anzhen and Fang Jianhua.

In addition, Fang Jianhua and Yang Anzhen had been working for several years, and neither was wasteful with money, so they also saved some money.

The two pulled out the passbook and added it up; they had almost twenty thousand yuan.

Fang Jianhua calculated: ”A deposit for a street-facing house is two thousand per unit, for three units it’s six thousand; a unit in the family compound is fifteen hundred, and seven thousand yuan is enough for the deposit.”

Yang Anzhen gave Fang Jianhua a ten thousand yuan passbook: ”Withdraw a little more, besides the deposit, go to the factory leaders and network a bit, get Dad three street-facing units.”

”Okay.”

Fang Jianhua saw that it was still before closing time for the bank, so he took the passbook out to withdraw money.

He withdrew ten thousand yuan and came back, Yang Anzhen took a bit of money to buy quite a few things.

In the evening, the two took the items to the factory director’s home.

The factory director’s surname was Yu; Director Yu was worried.

The houses were built, but the county’s economy wasn’t developed; few wealthy people, and those with some money were saving it. As long as there’s a house to live in, there really weren’t many people wanting to buy houses.

He wanted to sell the houses to the factory workers, but these workers were also just ordinary families. Over the years, they haven’t really saved much money.

So, genuinely few people were buying the factory houses, and still many street-facing and family compound houses hadn’t sold.

Director Yu had dinner and was worried about how to advertise to get the factory workers to decide to buy houses.

While he was contemplating this, Fang Jianhua and his wife came to his door with cigarettes and alcohol.

When Fang Jianhua explained the purpose of their visit, Director Yu was pleased.

”You know... the factory houses are selling fast.”

Director Yu was eager to sell houses but still had to pretend: ”Buying is fine, after all, you two are factory workers, and it’s right for the factory to look after you. But outsiders buying...”

Director Yu kept a stern face, looking very serious: ”You came, and we have a good relationship, if I didn’t agree, it would be unreasonable; so, tell your father-in-law, see if he knows anyone, find some people to buy more units. This way, it wouldn’t look like just selling to one family; we’d have a reasonable excuse.”
