The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1351: Chapter 1151: Killing the Enemy

Arrows were fired chaotically, the hit rate was unknown, but judging by the constant wailing from the enemy, it was clear the accuracy was not great.

The opposing squad leader had a dark expression, making for a tense atmosphere.

The deputy commander asked, ”Should we keep firing arrows?” The previous consumption of arrows was considerable, making the frugal deputy a bit uncomfortable.

The squad leader replied, ”Fire!”

And so—

A barrage of arrows continued to rain down on Guan Ning and others, who kept howling.

But!

These enemies were very cunning; instead of advancing towards the city gate, they retreated step by step, withdrawing 500 meters.

The distance between both sides thus increased. As a result, the arrows’ accuracy decreased.

Seeing this, the enemy squad leader twitched at the corner of his mouth, clenched his teeth, and suddenly said, ”Close combat team—”

Before he could finish, he shut his mouth, realizing that this might be a ploy to lure them out. If they send out forces now, they might fall into an ambush. So, he changed his order and said, ”Stand by and be ready.

He initially wanted to send the close combat team to engage the enemy.

Thinking it over, he decided against it.

Apart from fearing an ambush, the squad leader remembered Commander Charles’s stern warning before leaving: Don’t attack the gate lightly; use the base as a defensive hub and try to stall for time.

Why stall for time?

Our personnel are stationed inside, sheltered and protected from the cold in the base, maximizing body protection. Conversely, if the enemy attacks the commander’s base under the same conditions, they would pay a high price. They might even defeat themselves without a fight.

Another reason is that stalling might allow time for Charles to return with the main force.

...

In short, without understanding the enemy’s situation, buying time was the best tactic for our side.

So, after reconsideration, the enemy squad leader dispatched a small group to the ’howling’ site to gather intelligence.

But!

None of the dispatched intelligence officers returned.

The enemy squad leader’s face turned dark.

Time ticked away.

Seeing the enemies on the wall quiet down, Gu Peiyuan thought for a moment and said, ”Let’s get closer and continue to make noise to harass them!”

Since they were making a big scene, only using their own impersonated sounds seemed unrealistic. Gu Peiyuan resolutely decided to continue luring the enemy!

The enemy squad leader saw the dark shadows getting closer and, unceremoniously, said, ”Fire!”

Swish—

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Arrows were fired recklessly!

Gu Peiyuan and a few others were quite sly, taking only a few steps forward before immediately retreating.

So, a large number of arrows fell to the ground.

Guan Ning seized the opportunity to pick up the arrows: ”These are all good stuff.”

He Nu said, ”Indeed, these are great items. Pick them up, take them back, and we can use them at will.” Saying this, he howled and created noises while also picking up a few arrows.

...

Listening to the majestic noises, Lou’s men who had just reached the mountain pass paused. Lou frowned deeply, and Wei Yun asked, ”Should we go over to support now?”

At their pace, they could arrive in about 20 minutes.

Hearing the increasing noise, Lou, who had been calm, couldn’t help showing a flash of urgency in his eyes.

If it really was Ji You’s ambush, then the Array Flag was in danger.

Originally, Lou wanted to rest a while at this natural checkpoint to let the warriors recuperate a bit, but the situation was urgent.

After a brief moment of silence, Lou raised his head, a hint of determination in his eyes, and said, ”Move out!”

”Everyone, accelerate towards the Commander Base!

In the next second, the warriors under Lou’s command did not hesitate, all rushing towards the target!

At that moment, a faint, distinct sound was heard, crisp and clear. Lou’s heart sank with a strong sense of foreboding!

”Retreat!”

”Retreat!” At this critical moment, Lou, with keen instinct, directly ordered the troops to retreat immediately!

However—

When half immersed in the encirclement, how could they retreat easily?

When Lou looked up, he saw a mass of black-clad figures; beads of sweat immediately formed on his forehead!

Indeed!

It was indeed a mess.

”Kill!”

A soft voice floated from the crowd, decisive, and even melodious. Hearing this single word, beads of sweat trickled down Lou’s forehead even faster.

Ji You!

It was Ji You!

Indeed, she was laying in ambush here. They should never have come out! They should have stayed hidden and waited till dawn to plan.

But! It’s too late for regrets now.

A sense of bitterness swept through Lou’s heart. He cleared away these chaotic thoughts and pulled himself together!

What about Ji You?

Isn’t Ji You still human?

As long as she isn’t a deity, she can be defeated.

”Capture their leader, Ji You!” Lou shouted but feared his men couldn’t identify Ji You, he added, yelling, ”The shortest one in the crowd!”

Ji You:”...”

Ji You couldn’t help yelling, ”If you want to fight, fight, no personal attacks.”

Lou didn’t respond. He jumped up, slicing towards an enemy caught off guard!

Clang!

The attack was blocked!

Lou withdrew the blade and continued to chop!

At that moment, the clear voice from the crowd suddenly said, ”Lou the Iron Fool, stop fighting, surrender. In honor of our schooldays, I’ll leave you a whole corpse.”

Lou: ”...”

The fierce fighting erupted, both sides entangled in a chaotic melee. The entire scene looked utterly chaotic. Lou saw that the enemy wasn’t organized and felt strange, but remembered Ji You loved disguises. He shouted, ”Group into teams, defeat the enemy, don’t split up!”

Seeing the enemy’s chaos, Lou’s men shifted from initial panic to calm, becoming more valiant! Several felt they’d taken down a few foes and were quite capable, bursting with confidence.

He directly chased the fleeing enemy.

Swish! Swish! Swish!

From the side, cold arrows suddenly flew, piercing straight through some people!

The person was immediately lost.

Seeing this, Lou was at a loss for words: ”Retreat! All retreat!”
