The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1363: Chapter 1363: Bomb

Heidi received a mission to personally visit the underground storage room of the base. It was a very dark, cramped room, with only a charred black stone block propped against the door, looking from a distance as if it had been abandoned for a very long time...

Of course, Heidi didn’t head directly towards this stone door. After taking several turns, she finally reached her destination, twisting and winding.

There was no one at the door, no guards, and no other security measures, as if this place would be a piece of abandoned land with no use.

Heidi stood still for a moment, then reached out her hand.

Just at that moment, she clearly felt a slight anomaly, and her outstretched hand instantly retracted, then she heard a chilly sound whistling straight toward her left side!

It was an arrow.

This arrow struck the stone wall, making a crisp sound, then fell to the ground.

Heidi looked around and found several more clumsy arrows flying toward her, evidently randomly fired in by those enemies outside the base.

These reckless arrows fell before even reaching Heidi’s side.

Heidi stood expressionless.

In her heart, she felt somewhat relieved.

Yet, she couldn’t completely ease her mind, so Heidi withdrew her hand, then turned and walked toward a building in the center of the base, a three-story building about 5.5 meters tall, which was the weapon depot. Adjacent to the weapon depot were several two-story buildings, all aligned in a row, similar in size, height, and style, with no noticeable differences.

Heidi’s gaze swept over these aligned buildings without pause, then she lifted her foot, preparing to step into the central weapon depot.

But just then, the reckless arrows were shot haphazardly again.

Heidi’s step paused; she had grown numb from seeing so many arrows, so she ignored them, unlocked the weapon depot’s door, and went in.

The weapon depot looked spacious, but in reality, there weren’t many usable weapons inside since Commander Charles had used up a lot during two expeditions.

Heidi’s eyes didn’t even glance at the rows of weapons on the shelves; she kept walking to the end of the depot, stopped by a stone wall, then raised her hand and knocked.

Thump—

After a sound, an unexpected small door opened in the stone wall. Heidi stood blocking the door for a while, finding nothing unusual, and then walked in.

As soon as she entered, the door closed automatically.

At this moment, He Nu, hidden in the dark, quietly left because the attention-grabbing random arrows in front gave him cover; he came discreetly and left discreetly, hardly drawing any attention.

Behind the door.

A winding path about 5 meters long. Heidi reached the end, faced another door, then pushed it open and entered an even darker cave. As soon as she went in, she pinched her nose, saying, ”The smell is too strong.”

”Heidi?” someone immediately asked in the dark cave, ”What are you doing here?”

Heidi frowned and said, ”Are the bombs ready?”

The person answered, ”Ready, they can be used at any time.”

Heidi asked, ”How many are there?”

The person replied, ”The time was too short; only two were made.”

Hearing there were only two, Heidi was somewhat disappointed, but she also knew that given the limited conditions, using the available weapons and stock, coupled with scarce energy, it was very challenging to craft bombs comparable to Particle Cannons.

Fortunately, their team succeeded.

On the Original Battlefield, where there was no Mecha, no energy equipment, relying purely on human strength, the destructive power of these ’Particle Cannons’ was immense!

One could obliterate a whole area.

Because they had successfully made weapons with destructive power no less than a Particle Cannon, Commander Charles felt relieved leading people to attack Camp 5 to seize the Array Flag.

This was Commander Charles’ greatest reserve tactic.

To maintain secrecy, the enclosed room stank terribly, making Heidi cough hard as she asked, ”What is the explosive range now?”

”About a 1000-meter diameter.”

Heidi frowned, ”Only 1000 meters?”

The person said in a deep voice, ”Materials were limited, so this is the best we could do.”

Heidi said, ”Alright, give me one.”

The young man was taken aback, ”Now?”

Heidi replied, ”The situation isn’t right. We need to prepare for the worst. If the enemy attacks, we might not hold out, and then we’ll have to use this.”

Using the bomb, as its explosion covers about 1000 meters, it can turn the entire base into ruins within that range.

Thus, it is also a method of mutual destruction.

The young man thought for a moment, nodded, and said, ”Take one, and I still need to fine-tune the remaining one.”

”Okay.” Heidi extended her hand to take the small box wrapped tightly, her expression turning serious.

After taking it, Heidi didn’t return the same way. Instead, she pushed open a stone door and emerged into the low, abandoned stone house she had paused at before.

Outside the stone house, there was no one.

Heidi took a deep breath, with a ’bomb’ in her arms, her expression became even more serious. Then, she quickened her pace, trying to swiftly reach the battlements and rendezvous with the Squad Leader and others.

Suddenly—

A hand extended from the side, grabbing Heidi. Startled, Heidi was about to scream when a sharp, dull pain struck her head.

Bang~

Heidi had almost no resistance, wobbling and collapsing to the side.

The surrounding dimness, after the successful sneak attack, Ji You didn’t pause. She bent down, felt around in Heidi’s arms, and found a small box.

Looking down, a hint of realization flashed across Ji You’s face: [Indeed, it’s this kind of thing.]

Ji You had been holding off the enemy in front, sending He Nu to infiltrate the enemy camp to find out what other reserves they might have.

If not, she would immediately lead the army to directly attack the enemy.

But if there were, she had to eliminate the danger in advance.

It turns out there was indeed a reserve.

This thing, holding it is like a hot potato, might unexpectedly go off, and she would explode with it. With a stern face, Ji You carefully placed it safely.

Then.

Ji You didn’t immediately retreat to her side’s territory. Instead, she quietly took a few steps back to the unremarkable small house entrance and stopped once more.

Then—

Ji You indeed extended her hand, pushed open the door, which made a slight, subtle sound. The enemy’s reaction was quick, hiding instantly behind the door.

Ji You squinted, then chuckled softly and said, ”I know you’re behind the door, holding a bomb. But you can play by yourself, I won’t accompany you.”

With that, she turned and left.

The young man tightly clutching the ’bomb’ contemplated whether to ignite it. With a puzzled emotion passing through his mind, he cautiously watched Ji You’s figure, thinking, ”Is this person really not worried about me detonating the bomb?”
