The Interstellar Queen of Scavengers

Chapter 1398: Chapter 1398: Let’s Wrestle!

”Hold on tight.” Shen Sheng hears Ji You’s words, spreads his arms around the head of Ji You’s mech, and speaks happily.

”Mm.” Ji You murmurs, then she begins to accelerate.

The crowd sees two pitch-black mechas tightly embracing, like a stem with twin lotus blossoms, inseparable, leaving the audience gasping in amazement.

Then.

Ji You, carrying Shen Sheng’s mech, begins to accelerate her mech.

Her speed changes from slow to fast; initially, everyone can see her trajectory, then gradually, she becomes invisible.

Once again, she shows all the audience her unparalleled speed and control!

”Strong.”

”What a powerhouse.”

”To drive an antique mech at high-end mech speeds is beyond ordinary prowess. She’s also ruthless!

Ruthless how?

Do you know?” In the audience, a boy stares intensely at Ji You on the stage and throws out a question.

The students around him mostly appear confused, but a few with wide-open mouths say, ”It’s related to physical endurance.”

”Exactly.” The boy, still staring at the stage, says softly, ”Although you haven’t personally piloted an antique mech, you must have some understanding of its performance, right?

Antique mecha, as the first generation version, has many incomplete functions, primarily requiring high physical quality. Due to technological limitations, antique mechs have poor performances, unlike the current standard mechs which can almost fully ensure pilot safety, antique mechs cause great bodily harm during high-speed operations. For example, people who experience motion sickness in turbulent environments will find it unbearable, seriously damaging their health. Hence, the first generation antique mechs once demanded very high requirements for pilots, only those with A-level spiritual power and physical strength could drive it.

Additionally, playing with the first generation mechs requires talents at an S-Class level and above. Even if one’s physical strength and spiritual power both reach S-class, it’s not certain that they can endure actions beyond the limit.”

The boy watches the ongoing high-speed operation, already at a visually undetectable speed, he can only resume viewing in holographic mode, then continues, ”At this speed, Ji You and Shen Sheng can still persist, with no issues!

If it were me, I’d already be dizzy beyond recognition.

Beasts!!!

Indeed, they’re beasts!!!”

As the boy speaks, he keeps his eyes glued to the stage, the fiery passion in his eyes growing ever stronger.

No one doesn’t worship the strong.

Even children admire the strong.

The desire to admire the strong is human instinct.

After the boy’s explanation, everyone suddenly understands more about Ji You and Shen Sheng’s strength on the stage.

However, someone remarks, ”Is Ji You admitting defeat? She pilots the mech, flying with Shen Sheng around the whole arena, without considering energy consumption?”

”Her energy consumption is originally much higher than Ji You’s, right? Planning to give up?”

”If they intended to admit defeat, they would’ve done so earlier, why circle the stage everywhere?”

”Playing around?”

”Entertaining everyone?”

”Is she really that kind-hearted?”

...

Amidst the buzzing discussion, someone suddenly says, ”Hey! The speed is slowing down! Look quickly!”

”Huh?” Everyone stretches their necks to look over, discovering Shen Sheng still holding Ji You, but slightly different — Ji You also extends both hands, grabbing the two sides of Shen Sheng’s mech thighs, as if preventing Shen Sheng from falling off.

The crowd: ”...”

Silence.

Then.

Someone covers their mouth, saying, ”Feels a bit odd, like it’s not a fight we’re watching.”

”Yeah, doesn’t feel like a fight, more like a show of affection.”

”Dang. I just wanted to watch a fight, but even that is couple teasing?”

”A single dog indeed senses a bit of malice.”

”+1.”

”Ahem... How long are they going to show off?”

Just when the audience below the stage is at a loss, Shen Sheng speaks, with a hint of pride in her tone, ”Ji You, you really can’t shake me off, can you?”

Ji You: ”Hm.”

Upon hearing this, Shen Sheng smiles happily, ”I’ve practiced being sticky for so long, even with you, I’m sure you can’t shake me off.”

Her voice carries a child-like pure joy.

Ji You, affected, laughs too: ”Yeah, you are stickier than me.”

Shen Sheng: ”Haha.”

The crowd: ”...”

No fighting, just mutual praise?

Could it be they’re watching a fake arena match, instead of a praising contest?

Also, is being sticky something worthy of pride?

Just then, Shen Sheng shifts her tone and suddenly says: ”Ji You, you’re grabbing me because you want to self-destruct, right?”

Hm?

Upon hearing this, everyone perks up.

Ji You shows no awkwardness at having her inner machination exposed, speaks with a hint of laughter: ”Yes, you’re smart, you’ve figured it out.”

Shen Sheng shakes her head, speaks earnestly, ”It’s not about being smart, your method of piloting antique mech is just a few, sticky + self-destruct. If it’s not me, others can guess too.”

Ji You listens quietly, her movement running with Shen Sheng on her back doesn’t stop.

No sign of pause, at all.

Ji You chuckles, ”So, do you already have a way to counter it?”

Shen Sheng proudly says, ”Of course.”

Shen Sheng, holding onto Ji You’s mecha head, eyes focused on the back of the mech, vision seemingly piercing the mechanical wall to meet Ji You’s gaze inside the cockpit: ”With me, your self-destruct won’t succeed.”

Her tone is full of confidence.

She indeed has the reason for her confidence.

Shen Sheng has researched countless times, deciding what method to use when Ji You attempts to self-destruct to counter and then kill the opponent.

After much thought without results, she finally discovered it. The only way is to control the opponent’s mech before the self-destruct, Shen Sheng already has ideas on how to control it.

Shen Sheng says, ”I’m serious, you won’t succeed.”

Ji You chuckles, ”Let’s wait and see.”

Shen Sheng sits in the cockpit, the mechanical arm gripping Ji You’s mech hand, slightly applying force, her expression becomes more serious: ”Come on.”

While everyone, including Shen Sheng on the stage, thought Ji You was about to exert control, suddenly, she drives the mech to a sudden halt. Due to inertia, the two mechas stumble, then slide a considerable distance before slowly coming to a stop.

Everyone is surprised: ”Whoa! Running too fast, tripped?”

”Finally tripped!”

”Turns out running too fast can really make you fall, hahaha...”

Amidst a burst of laughter from the audience, many don’t notice the two tightly entwined mechas have quietly separated, Shen Sheng inside the cockpit suddenly feels a bit frustrated: ”So cunning! I didn’t prepare for you tripping!”
