Reborn As Super Heiress

Huo Sining’s guess was entirely correct. On the afternoon of the day she woke up, the whole Gu family rushed to the hospital to visit her. Of course, the main focus was their little daughter.

Master Gu was happily holding the little one, reluctant to let go. Mr. Gu, who was usually stern and rarely smiled, was grinning from ear to ear at this little girl, laughing heartily, almost about to argue with his father about who gets to hold the child.

Chen Yu and his wife were also very envious of Huo Sining. The two of them had been raising their child for six or seven years, and their son had finally reached the age where even a dog would dislike him. They both felt overwhelmed and wished they could put Gu Chengxuan back in the womb and give birth to him again, hoping to have a well-behaved daughter in his place.

Moreover, the Gu family had prepared a lot of birth gifts for this little girl. Just the shops, properties, stocks, funds, and shares alone made Huo Sining speechless.

Master Gu handed these things directly to Huo Sining. When she received them, she felt it was inappropriate and immediately shook her head, refusing:

”Grandpa, this... isn’t suitable. The child is so young, how can she handle such blessings? Please take them back. Tuan and I truly appreciate the thought.”

Master Gu, however, frowned and said unhappily, ”What are you talking about, child? These are things we prepared long ago for the child, not for you.”

Madam Gu, who was beside him, nodded with a smile and said, ”Yes, it’s for our dear granddaughter. The child is still young, you should keep these things safe. We’re getting old, and we can’t take them with us when we die. Eventually, they’re meant for you. Nannan is a girl; she’ll need a dowry in the future to stand firm in her husband’s family. Let’s consider this as the birth gift from your grandpa and me to the little girl.”

Huo Sining was left in stitches: ”Aren’t you in a bit of a rush? The child has just been born and you’re already talking about marriage. Even if you want to give it, shouldn’t it be when the child is discussing marriage?”

Madam Gu laughed and said, ”We don’t even know if we’ll live to see Nannan get married; these things will be given to you sooner or later. It’s better to give them to you earlier and let you and A Xu worry about it. Your grandpa and I are just waiting to enjoy our grandchildren’s company and a happy retirement.”

Huo Sining wanted to protest again. She really wasn’t used to accepting such precious things, even if they were from the Gu family’s elders. Besides, when her daughter marries, the dowry should be prepared by her. Huo Sining’s daughter should never be shamed by wanting, even if she marries.

Still, before she could speak, Chen Yu couldn’t help but laugh: ”Sister-in-law, you should just accept it; this share is originally Nannan’s. When I gave birth to Chengxuan, there was a share too. Nannan is not an exception; it’s the intention of the old master and mistress.”

Huo Sining was stunned and instinctively looked towards Chen Yu.

The reason she declined was partly because she wasn’t used to accepting money, and partly because she was worried about Chen Yu’s feelings. After all, Chen Yu is the Gu family’s eldest daughter-in-law. If the old master and mistress bypass Chen Yu and give so much wealth to Nannan, it’s hard to be sure Chen Yu, the eldest daughter-in-law, wouldn’t mind.

But what Huo Sining didn’t expect was for Chen Yu to actually persuade her in return, and she could feel that her sister-in-law was sincere in her words, not just pretending to be generous.

This made Huo Sining feel warmth in her heart. She had always known Chen Yu was easy to get along with, but when it comes to money, one can’t be assured out of the blue. Still, Chen Yu was genuinely like a big sister, which made Huo Sining feel closer to her and quietly grateful that she had such an agreeable sister-in-law.

”Since it’s the intention of the old master and mistress, I won’t decline anymore. I thank you two on behalf of Nannan, and when she grows up, she will surely repay you both well.”

Huo Sining was not one to be overly coy. Since even Chen Yu had no objection, she accepted it openly.

Although she’s now very wealthy, and indeed such things don’t appeal much to her, this is the elders’ intention, and one never declines a gift from their elders, so she decided to keep it for her daughter for now.

The two elders were even happier seeing Huo Sining accept the things. Madam Gu curiously asked:

”Has Nannan’s name been decided yet?”

Huo Sining shook her head: ”It was all too sudden, there wasn’t time to think. Gu Xu hasn’t come back yet, so I thought I’d wait until he returns.”

Madam Gu nodded without speaking, but Master Gu had a different opinion:

”That boy is unreliable. Knowing his wife was pregnant, why didn’t he think of a name earlier? Just calling the child Nannan isn’t good. We can wait for him for the formal name, then we four can discuss it together. But a nickname doesn’t need to be so elaborate; let’s decide on a nickname first.”

Mr. Gu and Mrs. Gu exchanged a glance and both agreed on this idea, nodding repeatedly: ”Yes, yes, let Ning Ning decide.”

Huo Sining smiled and glanced at Gu Chengxuan nearby: ”Chengxuan’s nickname is Tuan Tuan, right? Let’s follow along with Chengxuan’s naming. Let’s call Nannan’s nickname Yuanyuan.”

Master Gu couldn’t help but clap his hands and laugh at this name: ”Tuantuan Yuanyuan, this has great meaning! That’s the best nickname!!”

And so, our little daughter of the Gu family began her long, round journey, during which a lot of jokes ensued.

Around four o’clock, little Gu Chengxuan finished school. The little guy cried and shouted to visit his sister in the hospital as soon as he left school. Chen Yu had no choice but to bring him to the hospital.

The little guy rushed towards the bed eagerly as soon as he entered the ward, asking curiously: ”Auntie, Auntie, where’s my sister? Where’s my sister? I want to see my sister!”

Huo Sining had just finished feeding little Yuanyuan. The little one was sleeping on the bed, and suddenly felt something poking her cheek. She got annoyed and waved her hand, hitting the annoying thing.

The little guy had only been born a few days, and her strength was small, so it didn’t hurt at all when she hit Gu Chengxuan’s finger. Gu Chengxuan wasn’t angry at all; instead, he found it very novel:

”She grabbed my hand, Auntie! My sister grabbed my hand!”

Huo Sining couldn’t help but laugh: ”Your sister wants to play with you, but she’s still too young. We’ll have to wait two more years until she can walk and talk, then Tuan can play with her.”

Little Gu Chengxuan became a bit sulky when he heard he had to wait two more years: ”Two years is such a long time.”

Even as he said this, the little guy leaned earnestly close to his sister and murmured softly: ”Sis, grow up quickly. Brother will protect you! If anyone bullies you, Brother will beat them up!”
