Reborn As Super Heiress

After the agreement was signed, Liao Song and Xiao Shan both looked over at Huo Sining in unison.

Huo Sining smiled and said, ”Leave the next steps to me. I expect the two professors will definitely get back to me within the next couple of days. If necessary, I’ll bring them over to take a look.”

Huo Sining spoke with such seriousness that Liao Song and Xiao Shan naturally believed her.

Little did they know, this was just an excuse Huo Sining used to brush them off. In reality, she hadn’t contacted Chen Qiankun or Yan Xuesong, nor did she have much interaction with them, let alone know what research projects they were working on. What she claimed was purely made up.

She had already thought of a strategy: once back, she would pretend that Chen Qiankun and Yan Xuesong were too busy with their academic work to come to the Imperial Capital and had entrusted the matter to her.

Then, Huo Sining would prepare some special fertilizer material, infuse a bit of spiritual energy into them, and send them to Xiao Shan, pretending these were the growth promotion substances researched by Yan Xuesong and his team, capable of enhancing the growth and fruit-bearing of walnut trees.

She would then advise Xiao Shan to apply these fertilizer substances to the roots of each walnut tree, ensuring the act was convincingly performed.

Since those walnut trees had already been modified by her, this year’s batch of flowers would definitely not be an issue. She believed that once the walnuts matured, the yield rate of this batch of walnut trees would be remarkable this year.

Huo Sining was very confident in this, which is why she dared to make such claims and weave such elaborate lies.

Because Huo Sining usually conducted herself meticulously and earnestly, neither Zhong Zifan nor Liao Song doubted her. They truly believed that the S University professors, Chen Qiankun and Yan Xuesong, were researching this amazing technology. While internalizing their secret joy, they were also extremely curious and expectant of the growth promotion technology Huo Sining talked about.

Even though Huo Sining didn’t guarantee that this would definitely work, Liao Song’s originally anxious heart inexplicably calmed down upon seeing Huo Sining’s composed demeanor. He chose to trust Huo Sining because this woman always provided him with the best solutions in difficult times and helped him out smoothly.

Therefore, Liao Song signed the agreement with his cousin without hesitation. If Madam Xiao hadn’t stopped him, he would have been willing to put up hundreds of thousands as a deposit.

After signing the contract, they didn’t intend to linger at the Xiao Family. Taking their leave from Madam Xiao, they prepared to first depart.

However, after only a few steps, Huo Sining suddenly remembered something. She raised her head and looked at Xiao Shan earnestly:

”Cousin Xiao, I think you should not disclose the agreement with Brother Liao Song before the fruits mature.”

Xiao Shan was taken aback, looking at Liao Song and then at Huo Sining, unsure of what she meant.

Huo Sining smiled and said, ”Brother Liao Song and that Boss Wang you met today have some personality clashes. That Boss Wang has deceived us before; he’s not a good person. If he finds out you have a dozen walnut trees behind the mountain and have found a growth method, he might sabotage it. Although saying this makes me somewhat petty-minded, one should not have harmful intentions, but neither be without precaution. Both you and Aunt Xiao should be careful not to casually tell others.”

Upon hearing this, Xiao Shan suddenly became enlightened.

Huo Sining was not without reason in bringing up Wang Zhongwei, especially given that Wang Zhongwei was with Ma Liwen this time. Both are troublemakers and have had previous grievances with them. If they knew about the opportunity with Xiao Shan’s walnut trees, who knows what shady tactics they might employ to obstruct this deal. If that happened, it would be too late for regrets.

Not only would Liao Song be unable to bear such losses, but Xiao Shan himself definitely wouldn’t want to lose a business worth millions for no reason. Hence, Huo Sining’s words were noted by Xiao Shan, and even Madam Xiao nodded solemnly, saying:

”Girl, don’t worry, my son and I won’t say a word. These walnut trees are planted on the back mountain, and our family’s mountain is fenced off from others. Normally, no one comes to the backyard, so no one will notice. Besides, the villagers all know our trees have only been planted for a few years, far from bearing fruit, so no one will suspect a thing.”

Huo Sining felt relieved after hearing Madam Xiao’s words. She nodded and said, ”That’s good, then we’ll take our leave now.”

With that, Huo Sining and her companions headed for the gate.

Just as they opened the gate, they saw a few people rushing over toward them: ”Hey, hey, hey, Shan, is this the cousin who wants to buy walnuts?”

Xiao Shan paused, looking at the approaching people and nodded, ”Yes. Aunt Liu, Sister Zhang, what brings you all here?”

The women who came were the ones Huo Sining and Liao Song had seen before, the households at the end of the village that grew walnuts. Liao Song had spoken with these women before, so he remembered them.

However, previously these women carried themselves with haughty attitudes, so why were they now collectively rushing over, and looking quite anxious too?

Seeing Xiao Shan ask, they awkwardly smiled and said, ”We... we just came over to visit, to chat with your mom. Where are you all going?”

Xiao Shan clearly sensed something was off with them, so he quickly smiled and said:

”My cousin came today to buy mountain produce, but didn’t find anything suitable, so I’m planning to take them back now.”

When the women heard Liao Song and the others were leaving, their expressions immediately changed: ”Ah? Leaving already? Didn’t you just arrive today?”

Xiao Shan laughed, ”Since there’s nothing to buy, staying would just be a waste of time. It’s better to head back and think of other ways.”

The women exchanged glances, obviously perplexed.

Xiao Shan saw the women’s anxious and frustrated expressions and could vaguely guess their purpose for coming, so he couldn’t help but ask curiously:

”Auntie, is there something you need?”

Aunt Liu, upon hearing Xiao Shan’s question, became anxious and slapped her thigh, saying:

”Shan, since you ask, I won’t hide it from you. After all, we’re from the same village, and this matter can’t be hidden anyway.”
