Reborn As Super Heiress

Upon hearing this from Huo Sining, everyone in the room turned their gaze towards her.

Even Liao Song and Zhong Zifan were puzzled and asked, ”Miss Huo, what do you mean by that?”

They felt like today’s trip yielded nothing, so why did Huo Sining say they had a gain today?

Huo Sining smiled and said, ”I’m not just saying this to comfort you. Brother Liao Song, others may not know, but you should be aware that I study at S University and have participated in a research project at the S University Research Institute.”

Liao Song nodded, ”I’ve heard a little about that. I heard you participated in a research project concerning Huaxia Koi.”

Huo Sining nodded in agreement and continued, ”Our S University may not excel in other fields, but in agriculture, we have a significant advantage. We don’t just study Koi Xianyu but also some flowers and the growth and study of old plants.”

”Have you heard of the names Chen Qiankun and Yan Xuesong?”

Liao Song and Zhong Zifan exchanged glances and shook their heads.

Liao Song, still confused, didn’t understand why Huo Sining brought up matters related to her school: ”Miss Huo, what’s the connection between this and our walnut gathering today?”

Huo Sining laughed, ”Of course, it has a connection. The two people I mentioned are old professors from our university’s Biological Research Institute, both at the vice-dean level and top experts in plant research.”

”They are experts in researching old plants. Two years ago, I was lucky enough to meet these two professors by chance and heard them mention a research topic on the rejuvenation of old plants and the induction of young plants. However, my understanding of plant science is limited, so I just listened casually and didn’t take it to heart.”

Upon hearing this, especially the mention of the topic on inducing young plants, Liao Song immediately got a sense of Huo Sining’s point. His eyes lit up, staring intently at her.

Huo Sining continued, ”Just now on the mountain, I took photos of these walnut trees with my phone and sent them to those two professors. I think these walnut trees might relate to their research topic. Consulting them might lead to a solution.”

”If these walnut trees can be induced to mature early, then I think Cousin Xiao won’t have to wait ten more years, and Brother Liao Song, your troubles could be resolved. Wouldn’t that be a win-win?”

Xiao Shan was stunned upon hearing this proposal from Huo Sining, and even Zhong Zifan was left speechless:

”Isn’t this the natural law of plants? Only old walnut trees produce good fruit, and can this really be artificially induced and accelerated?”

Huo Sining smiled, ”Peach trees bear fruit in three to five years. Why do walnut trees, after ten years of blooming, fail to produce normal fruit? I think it might not be about natural law. Maybe something happens during the flowering and fruiting process that people typically overlook.”

Xiao Shan was immediately stunned: ”Symptoms? Are you saying this may not be a standard pattern but an overlooked plant disease?”

Huo Sining nodded, then shook her head: ”I’m just reasoning based on normal logic. The exact situation will have to be determined by the professors. But I believe if they get involved, artificial intervention will surely have some effect. At least, you won’t be as passive as you are now!”

Liao Song and Zhong Zifan exchanged looks, finding Huo Sining’s words somewhat incredible.

Yet Xiao Shan quickly nodded and expressed, ”Alright, since Miss Huo says so, then I’ll entrust all these trees to you. Whether it succeeds or not, the harvest of this year is free for you.”

Huo Sining laughed, ”Why give it to me? I don’t do business with these things. It’s just my suggestion. Since Mr. Xiao agrees, you just need to let me use these trees as samples. How you and Brother Liao Song negotiate about the fruit afterward is up to you. I won’t interfere.”

Liao Song saw through it. Huo Sining was finding a way to solve his current dilemma. He knew very well that without exploring this alternative, he could only sit passively and let Wang Zhongwei run rampant in Fuzhou, seizing the market.

Huo Sining’s suggestion was the only opportunity he had at the moment. Even if it seemed unreliable, he had to give it a try.

Liao Song nodded, and his gaze towards Xiao Shan suddenly became solemn and earnest:

”Cousin, since Miss Huo is unwilling to get involved, let me make the decision. I’ll take on all your trees. Whether they bear fruit this year or not, and however many they bear, I’ll buy them all. I’ll draft a contract now, and we can sign it directly. I’ll pay you an advance, just like with the others. If this artificially-induced experiment fails or damages your trees, consider this money as compensation. How about it?”

Upon hearing this, Xiao Shan was immediately displeased: ”How can that be? If the trees don’t bear fruit, how can I take your money? We’re family; no need to formalize things. Signing a contract is fine, but let’s forget the advance. Count the fruit as it comes. Since you call me cousin, do you really think I’d take advantage of you? Do you see me, Xiao Shan, as someone blinded by money?”

The two brothers couldn’t reach an agreement, leaving Huo Sining amused as she watched. She knew very well that both Liao Song and Xiao Shan were considerate of each other, neither wanting to take advantage of the other, fearing gossip.

However, after her spiritual energy blessing, these walnut trees were bound to yield a miraculous crop this year. Regardless of the plan, neither would suffer a loss.

Huo Sining could already envision the expression of shock, akin to seeing a ghost, on their faces when the walnuts matured and brought them such an unexpected surprise.

”Alright, what’s there to argue about! Brother Song, let’s follow Xiao Shan’s plan. Once the fruit is ripe, count it as it is. Auntie is calling the shots for you; write the contract that way. No advances, or else I’ll turn my back on you!”

As the two of them continued their dispute, Old Granny Xiao suddenly spoke up.

Her declaration left no room for discussion, compelling Liao Song to pause, touching his nose with a helpless smile and nodding in agreement.
