Reborn As Super Heiress

Thus, when Huo Sining received Liao Song’s call again, she learned an unexpected piece of news: Wang Zhongwei and Zhong Yuejin had gotten into a fight.

Huo Sining couldn’t help but laugh, ”Isn’t that just what you wanted? Dog eat dog, a mouthful of fur. Let them fight, you all can just sit back and watch.”

Liao Song’s mood was naturally very good, especially since he also found out that Ma Liwen had left Fuzhou, seeming to have fallen out with Wang Zhongwei and not planning to continue with the walnut business at Fuzhou Market.

Knowing this news, Liao Song felt relieved. Without Ma Liwen’s support, Wang Zhongwei would find it much harder to succeed alone. With one less formidable enemy, things would be much easier for Liao Song to handle, hence his excitement.

Unlike Liao Song’s relaxation, Huo Sining thought a bit more. She suspected whether it was a trick orchestrated by Ma Liwen and Wang Zhongwei to deliberately act for Liao Song to let down his guard.

So during the conversation with Liao Song, Huo Sining didn’t forget to pour cold water, reminding him not to get too complacent, and to keep an eye on the situation with Wang Zhongwei and Ma Liwen, while also remaining vigilant about Cousin Xiao from Fangshan.

Liao Song knew that Huo Sining meant well and wasn’t annoyed, carefully noting down her reminders.

However, it was clear that Huo Sining was overthinking. This time, Wang Zhongwei had indeed fallen out with Ma Liwen. After such losses, both were somewhat discouraged and unlikely to engage in the walnut business anytime soon.

After waiting for more than a month without hearing any new updates from Liao Song, Huo Sining estimated the matter had been resolved, hence she no longer paid attention to Liao Song’s affairs and focused solely on nurturing the two orchids Yue Shuwen had brought back this time.

In two months, the original orchid seedlings had been cultivated into full-grown orchids by Huo Sining, blossoming with extraordinarily beautiful orchid blooms.

During this period, Huo Sining also researched a lot of reputable orchids, thus gaining some understanding of previous Orchid Society exhibitions. She was certain that past high-priced orchids like Supreme Lotus and Su Guan He Ding weren’t as good as the two pots in her hands.

However, before the international Orchid Society began, she decided to keep it a secret and not let these two pots of orchids be seen for the time being.

Concerned that prolonged exposure might delay their blooming period, Huo Sining decided to store them directly in the storage ring after ensuring they needed no more adjustments.

Moreover, she also nurtured the orchids previously sent by Yan Xuesong, though she didn’t spend much effort on them, simply planting them in the villa’s yard. Various orchid varieties mingled together, thriving in harmony.

If Yan Xuesong were here to see these orchids being planted so casually by Huo Sining, he would surely be distressed.

Because these orchids had transformed into a completely different appearance under Huo Sining’s care.

Though Yan Xuesong had mentioned these orchids weren’t great varieties, they also weren’t that bad. After being nourished with spiritual energy by Huo Sining, these orchids grew exceptionally well, more refined than those generally cultivated by ordinary people.

Such flowers would definitely be in high demand at general orchid enthusiasts’ exchanges, easily fetching tens of thousands per pot.

However, Huo Sining never thought about selling these orchids for money. Her current wealth was enough that she had no need for it. Not to mention the company’s earnings, Windsor Reed’s side sent her dividends regularly after their diamond mine extraction, so these orchids weren’t worth much in her eyes.

If any thieves sneaked in, recognizing their value, they wouldn’t need to enter the villa. Just digging out a couple of orchids from the flower bed would instantly make a fortune.

This illustrated what having money and being capricious meant, but Yan Xuesong was unaware of all this. He and Chen Qiankun were anxiously waiting for Huo Sining’s news, fearing their efforts would be in vain again.

In mid-August, walnuts reached their maturity season, and things became tenser on Liao Song’s end. He left the Fuzhou business and directly went to Imperial Capital, staying at his cousin’s place, eagerly awaiting the first batch of ripe walnuts.

By this time, Huo Sining’s belly had ballooned like a balloon, and her due date was fast approaching.

The son was still an egg while the daughter was ready to come out first, leaving Huo Sining confused by this bizarre situation, feeling both amused and helpless.

Gu Xu was even more anxious than Huo Sining, yearning for a darling little girl. Whenever he thought about his little soulmate from a past life resembling his wife, fair, tender, and adorably soft, his heart melted into oblivion.

Even before the baby was born, Gu Xu had already pushed away most of the company’s affairs, spending dedicated time at home with his wife and daughter, learning about prenatal and postnatal practices. When free, he would recite poetry and songs to Huo Sining’s belly. Occasionally, when the daughter moved inside the womb, Gu Xu’s excitement was boundless, greeting his daughter from across the belly with a wide smile.

However, this aspiring father’s joy didn’t last long. By the end of August, he suddenly received a mission that required a secret deployment, not only him but Song Hui and Yu Fei as well.

What the mission entailed, Huo Sining did not know. Upon receiving the call, Gu Xu’s expression immediately turned solemn, and back in the room, he tightly embraced his wife.

Gu Xu felt some guilt, knowing his wife was due soon, yet he couldn’t be with Huo Sining. With the urgency of the task, he had no choice.

Huo Sining was quite understanding, yet she couldn’t help but feel reluctant, her eyes reddened as she choked back tears, ”You... go early and return early, don’t take risks; safety first. The child and I will be waiting for you at home to come back safe!”

Gu Xu had seen his wife’s strong queen-like demeanor and witnessed her cunning as a fox but never like this. His heart ached, realizing how much he owed his wife. Almost impulsively, he lowered his head, grasped her head firmly, and kissed her deeply.

They kissed for over ten minutes, until his wife panted, eyes dazed, releasing Gu Xu from his bitter restraint. Observing the small woman with swollen lips dazedly before him, Gu Xu’s eyes darkened, unable to resist whispering beside her ear:

”Wife, when I get back, I’ll definitely make it up to you!”

Although it was a serious promise, under such circumstances with Gu Xu’s deep and ambiguous gaze, Huo Sining’s mind was in turmoil. Not until Gu Xu closed the door upon leaving did she regain her senses.

Her ears flushed red, and she couldn’t help but mutter at the tightly closed door.
