Reborn As Super Heiress

Huo Sining had previously given Liao Song a warning, and Liao Song indeed took it to heart. But even Liao Song didn’t expect Ma Liwen and Wang Zhongwei to be so ruthless in their actions.

A few days later, Huo Sining received another call from Liao Song. The walnut trees of the six families in Fangshan Village had been poisoned by someone, and all withered overnight.

Upon hearing this news, Huo Sining was momentarily lost in thought.

”Can we find out who did it?” Huo Sining asked.

Liao Song was quite helpless: ”It was a unemployed thug from the village. This person claimed that because his own walnut trees were damaged while the other six families’ trees were unharmed, he felt jealous and, in a moment of impulse, committed the poisoning.”

Naturally, Huo Sining knew that such thugs’ words could not be trusted. The real mastermind behind it must be Wang Zhongwei or Ma Liwen, but since the one who poisoned didn’t expose them, it was impossible to directly target Ma Liwen and Wang Zhongwei.

”This person was definitely bribed by Ma Liwen and Wang Zhongwei, and they probably gave him a considerable hush money. Even if we investigate, we won’t find anything. It’s just a pity for those six families. The walnut trees have withered just like that. This year it might be tolerable, but from now on, these families have lost an important source of income. My conflict with Wang Zhongwei has implicated innocent people, and I don’t know how to face those six families.”

Liao Song was very depressed.

Huo Sining also didn’t expect that Ma Liwen and Wang Zhongwei could be so ruthless, cutting off the livelihood of innocents. Such people are truly hateful!

”Don’t worry yet. Remember, the fertilizer was something I got from the professors at S University. Those two professors are experts in plant cultivation. They might have a solution. I’ll head to Fangshan tomorrow to check the situation of the trees. There might be hope yet!”

Hearing this, Liao Song’s eyes lit up, becoming excited: ”Right, how could I forget this important thing? Please consult those two professors for me on how to save the trees. Don’t worry, I’ll cover the costs!”

Huo Sining laughed: ”What costs could there be? If they really can save them, would those professors really charge us? You’ve underestimated their integrity. But don’t get your hopes up too much. After all, we don’t know the trees’ current condition. If they’re really poisoned to death, even Professor Yan and the others might not be able to do anything.”

Liao Song nodded: ”I understand.”

”Also, although this issue started because of us, the real culprits are Wang Zhongwei and Ma Liwen. They’ll definitely pay for what they’ve done! Your task now is to find a way to counterattack these two, ensuring they don’t gain any benefits whatsoever. You have to make Fuzhou’s antique walnut market bigger and stronger, giving them no chance to survive. Otherwise, they’ll definitely come back next year when you least expect it!”

Huo Sining said coldly.

”Don’t worry. Even though those six families lost their walnuts, there’s my cousin’s side. His dozen or so walnut trees have nuts as good as those old trees’, even bigger. I reckon just the nuts from his trees can match the entire village’s annual output!”

Liao Song said proudly.

This, Huo Sining didn’t doubt. Compared to the six families’ walnut trees, the ones on Xiao Shan’s back hill had been properly enhanced with Huo Sining’s Spiritual Energy. If such trees couldn’t bear plentiful fruit, it would be unjust.

However, she couldn’t help but dampen Liao Song’s enthusiasm a bit: ”I’ll say it again, until the nuts mature, everything is still unknown. You know the style of MA Liwen and Wang Zhongwei by now. They’re definitely watching you, trying to sabotage all your resources.”

”Your cousin’s walnut trees on the back hill, everyone in the village knows they’re still young. Most people wouldn’t suspect anything, but don’t be blindly optimistic. You must stay vigilant. If word gets out, who knows what desperate and despicable actions Wang Zhongwei might take when cornered.”

”Your cousin Xiao’s dozen walnut trees are your last trump card. You can’t let it fall apart in your own hands!”

Liao Song was suddenly alert, realizing the truth in Huo Sining’s words, and quickly said:

”I know. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely keep this in mind. I won’t be going to Fangshan for a while, and I’ll also have my cousin ensure no outsiders enter the backyard to prevent word from spreading.”

Huo Sining nodded: ”You must also be cautious on your side. Don’t act too calm or confident. If necessary, put on an act with Zhong Zifan to appear even angrier and more annoyed, showing Ma Liwen and Wang Zhongwei that you know about Fangshan’s situation and that you’re so enraged you’ve lost your mind, making them think their scheme has succeeded.”

Liao Song was taken aback, remembering when he first met Huo Sining, who helped him recover fifty thousand that was scammed from him. She’d made him put on a show, presenting the Guanyin porcelain sculpture as genuine to his friends. From that incident, he fully realized that Miss Huo was a cunning and resourceful little rascal.

Now, with Huo Sining advising him again, Liao Song couldn’t help but laugh. He thought for a moment, then asked: ”This Ma Liwen and Wang Zhongwei, shouldn’t we find a way to deal with them? They’ve caused so much trouble. We can’t just let them off the hook so easily, can we?”

Huo Sining smiled: ”Indeed, we can’t. What do you want to do?”

Liao Song thought for a moment: ”Since they’re so eager to break into Fuzhou’s market, why don’t we turn the tables on them, using their eagerness against them?”

Huo Sining was thoughtful, then said: ”That’s indeed a good opening, but we need a thorough plan. Wang Zhongwei and Ma Liwen are old foxes with very strong vigilance. An ordinary trap might not catch them.”

Liao Song laughed: ”Then we use someone they trust. You remember Zhong Yuejin, right?”

Huo Sining was momentarily surprised: ”You mean Zhong Zifan’s uncle?”

Liao Song nodded: ”Yes, if we use him, would Wang Zhongwei even suspect anything?”

Huo Sining immediately smiled, realizing that this side of Liao Song was also quite strategic: ”The enemy of my enemy is my friend. If it’s Zhong Yuejin, it’s definitely feasible!”
