Reborn As Super Heiress

In the days following the fertilization, Xiao Shan conducted a period of point monitoring on these trees, only relaxing after confirming that the fertilizer did not harm the walnut trees.

The effects of the fertilizer were not immediately apparent, and Xiao Shan couldn’t discern any real changes in the walnut trees during his daily observations.

However, one detail greatly surprised Xiao Shan and a few other rural women.

The surprise was that the flowering period of the walnut trees seemed unusually lengthy this time.

Previously, the flowers of walnut trees would typically bloom and wither within three to five days, but this time, they persisted for a full week before withering.

This anomaly only appeared on the walnut trees Liao Song had purchased; other trees in the village, including those at the old village head’s home, bloomed and withered within the usual three to five days.

Due to the unusual circumstances, Xiao Shan specifically called Huo Sining, who found nothing strange, merely noting it as a normal post-fertilization phenomenon that could only be deemed successful based on the subsequent stability in fruit setting.

This also indicated the utility of the fertilizer, causing Xiao Shan to feel secretly thrilled. After finishing the call with Huo Sining, he then discussed the matter with the several households, advising them not to widely promote the unusual situation of their walnut trees and notably not to mention the special fertilizer substances brought by Huo Sining.

This was also at Huo Sining’s instruction; she explained to Xiao Shan that the fertilizer substances were still under research, with specific details not yet fully developed, hence not available for market use. The limited fertilizer was procured by her pleading with two professors.

The fertilizer was the result of the professors’ research, meant to be patented in the future; careless information leaks might attract the covetous intents of others, potentially leading outsiders to exploit and steal the professors’ hard-earned research outcomes.

Thus, confidentiality was paramount, with no information leaks allowed.

Xiao Shan, hearing Huo Sining’s words, took the matter very seriously, admitting to sincerely discussing it with the several farmers.

Although these farmers lacked cultural education, they appreciated that their walnut trees’ opportunity for professional professor-developed fertilizer transformation was entirely thanks to Liao Song’s patronage, which thrilled them inwardly.

They might not grasp the significance of research results, but they understood the substantial impact on their households brought by increased walnut tree fruit-setting rates, choosing in silent excitement and fervor to remain unvoiced.

Who wouldn’t choose to quietly profit from such a windfall? Nobody was foolish enough to spread the news, aware that it might spark envy and grudges among covetous villagers possibly leading to irreparable acts behind the scenes.

Nobody wished for such incidents, so the six households who received the fertilizer remained silent, acting as though nothing ever happened.

As everyone had walnut trees, nobody paid attention to the different flowering durations of the other six households’ trees; even if anyone noticed, they wouldn’t reflect on it, merely assuming their own trees bloomed early without further thought.

Thus, with the days swiftly passing, Huo Sining’s belly grew larger. Her active lifestyle erupted into one of seclusion.

Yue Shuwen and Zhong Xiaoyao spent the period researching childbirth, though they both admitted cluelessness on the differences between Jiaoren egg laying and human childbirth.

Gu Xu also suspected that his wife was about to initiate labor, so he hurriedly managed his workload, renovated the basement using the best soundproof materials available.

On this particular morning, Gu Xu delegated his work to Song Hui, and after completing the last few matters, he hastily returned home.

After lunch, as Huo Sining prepared to ask Gu Xu to accompany her on a walk through the yard, she suddenly sensed something amiss bodily.

The deep sinking sensation in her abdomen jolted her into sudden awareness, her face changing drastically.

”Gu Xu!”

Urgently, she called out to Gu Xu.

Raising his head, Gu Xu noticed the odd expression on his wife’s face; in that instant, he reacted, promptly moving her to the sofa in the living room.

He calmly instructed the household staff, ”Yingzi, promptly take Aunt and the children on a trip to the ocean park. I’ve had Xiao Qi arrange the tickets; drive there, Xiao Qi will meet you there.”

Yingzi stood stunned, instinctively aware through her keen senses that something was amiss.

She glanced at Huo Sining, inquiring, ”Miss Huo, are you alright?”

Struggling for composure, Huo Sining weakly gestured, ”I’m fine, all of you go ahead. Have fun with the kids.”

Yingzi, dispatched by Master Lu, wouldn’t accept orders from Gu Xu without Huo Sining’s consent.

However, as Huo Sining spoke likewise, despite her reluctance, Yingzi had no choice but to nod and agree.

Upon learning they’d be venturing out, Tongtong, the little girl, naturally rejoiced in delight, though over there, Niuniu and Qibao somehow sensed something, turning back repeatedly, casting worried glances at Huo Sining.

Engines roared to life, quickly clearing the house of idle folks; swiftly, Gu Xu took action, moving his wife to the basement.

Having reacted, Zhong Xiaoyao swiftly closed the open yard gate, locking all villa doors and windows.

Meanwhile, Yue Shuwen prepared all necessary items for childbirth, promptly delivering them to the basement.

The three entered the basement, each tense, casting worried glances at Huo Sining, imagining the upcoming bloody scenario in their minds.

Gu Xu tightly grasped his wife, listening to the painful and muffled sounds she emitted, his veins bulging, unable to take his eyes off her, yet opening his mouth wanting to comfort her.

Yue Shuwen and Zhong Xiaoyao unconsciously gripped each other’s hands, seemingly drawing strength from one another.

The three incessantly prayed, mentally bracing themselves, preparing things such as hot water and towels.

However, what happened the next second left everyone stunned inside the room.
