Reborn As Super Heiress

”In the morning, we were all waiting for that wealthy boss to come to our house to check the goods, but after the big boss saw our trees, he wasn’t interested at all. He walked around the yard a few times and then left.”

”That wealthy boss is really too much. Our trees are no different from the village head’s trees, yet after he saw them, he just found some random excuse to brush us off and in the end just walked away.”

”Where have you seen business being done like this? I think this person is completely unreliable. Despite what the people at the village entrance said about him being generous, who knows if they’re just being deceived by him!”

Hearing these women talk, Xiao Shan was instantly surprised: ”Are you saying Boss Wang wasn’t interested in your walnut tree, and he didn’t buy it?”

Aunt Liu nodded: ”Yes, not just ours, but Yan’er and Ni’s families also didn’t sell. Only six households behind the village head’s family are left. That man did look at each family’s walnut trees but ended up not taking any.”

Upon hearing this, Huo Sining instinctively glanced at Liao Song, furrowing his brows, feeling this matter was a bit suspicious.

She and Liao Song have both seen those families’ walnut trees, all are old walnut plants, blooming well, and as Xiao Shan had mentioned, these are old walnut seeds in the village with stable fruit-bearing rates every year, basically a sure profit.

Why did Wang Zhongwei come all the way here and suddenly leave these few trees without buying them? This is really odd, isn’t it?

Liao Song and Zhong Zifan exchanged a glance, each wondering if there was some deceit involved.

Aunt Liu instead looked eagerly at Liao Song: ”Xiao Liao, you saw our trees in the morning too, the price Auntie offered previously, do you find it suitable? If so, how about selling to you?”

Seeing Liao Song not speak, Aunt Liu became more anxious: ”If not, then lower the price a bit, just like the number you mentioned before, how about that?”

Several other women, seeing Aunt Liu eager to lower the price, also chimed in: ”And mine too, Boss Liao, we’re selling, price is negotiable!”

Xiao Shan also couldn’t figure out what was going on; these women were all playing hardball this morning, not even wanting to negotiate with Liao Song, and now they were eagerly asking Liao Song to buy, the change was too drastic, leaving Xiao Shan confused.

Liao Song couldn’t help but whisper to Zhong Zifan: ”What should we do? Should we still buy? Could it be that Wang Zhongwei was just flaunting earlier, buying those walnut trees at a high price and then ran out of money, so he left these behind?”

Zhong Zifan frowned at these words: ”That’s also possible, but remember, we almost fell into Wang Zhongwei’s trap before, I think this might be their scheme, better be cautious.”

Liao Song nodded, yet felt reluctant: ”My cousin’s place is still somewhat unreliable, but these families have genuine old walnut trees, if we really scoop them all up, when the fruit ripens, we’ll surely profit, leaving these trees here without buying, are you content?”

Zhong Zifan glanced at Liao Song, understanding his thoughts, and advised: ”Considering Wang Zhongwei and Ma Liwen’s ways, don’t you think they haven’t probed the situation here before coming? They must have investigated early on and know how many walnut trees are in the village, so running out of money seems unlikely.”

”And remember, before encountering us, their purchasing speed was quick, aggressive, apparently intending to contract all the walnut trees here in the village. But why did they stop buying and leave those walnut trees behind after they encountered us?”

”I think this is a trap, they might be deliberately luring us in!”

Hearing Zhong Zifan’s words, Liao Song paused, admitting his analysis was reasonable, this might indeed be Wang Zhongwei’s trap.

”Then what do you suggest?” Liao Song helplessly looked at Zhong Zifan.

Zhong Zifan didn’t say anything, yet Huo Sining suddenly spoke up: ”Leaving these good trees unsold, what are they up to? Don’t you want to figure that out?”

”Instead of guessing here, why not go and take a look? If you don’t see it for yourself, probably this will nag at you, right?”

Huo Sining gave Liao Song a playful smile, and he awkwardly smiled back, not denying her question.

The village women were persistently selling their walnut trees now, which was a complete turnabout from their cold attitude in the morning, leaving Liao Song speechless, he interrupted them:

”Aunt Liu, please stop, your walnut trees, I only glanced at them briefly this morning, I haven’t inspected them closely. If you truly intend to sell to me, we can’t transact here, I need to go to your home to check them out, shall we?”

The women were delighted to hear this: ”Yes, yes, let’s look at the trees first, come, come, I’ll take you there!”

And so these women, who claimed to be visiting the Xiao Family earlier, suddenly turned and walked ahead, not even entering the Xiao Family’s yard.

Seeing this, Xiao Shan felt exasperated yet understanding; these women were so eager to sell their walnut trees because other villagers’ walnut trees had fetched good prices, while theirs were left unsold, fearing they might not find a buyer eventually and lose two to three hundred thousand a year, it worries them.

In recent years, villagers have been relying on these walnut trees for income; other sources are basically negligible, it’s the walnut trees they live on.

Huo Sining had heard this from Xiao Shan after arriving at the village, but after entering the first household’s yard, Aunt Liu’s home, and seeing the walnut tree there, her face turned sour instantly.

Meanwhile, Liao Song and Zhong Zifan were also inspecting the walnut tree in the yard attentively; though they’d seen it once in the morning, fearing any hidden issues, they were examining more thoroughly now.

Yet, they weren’t experts in planting, no matter how carefully they inspected, they couldn’t figure out anything.

Only Huo Sining, upon touching this walnut tree, discovered the problem with it.
