Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 543: Chapter 540: The Situation

Knowing that Huo Sining and Jiang Xiaoqin had come to the old residential area to view jade roughs, Zhou Zhen immediately felt curious.

In this period of time, the amount of jadeite that had come from Huo Sining’s hands had seriously alarmed Zhou Zhen, he had not expected this woman surnamed Huo to be so formidable at gambling on stones.

Out of more than a hundred rough stones, two-thirds had increased in value when cut, and although there were no pieces of superior jadeite, this woman managed to make tens of millions in capital in just a single week.

Zhou Zhen didn’t know that Huo Sining had stowed several dozen pieces of superior jadeite into her space ring, or else he would have probably gone mad.

After learning how formidable Huo Sining’s skills in stone gambling were, Zhou Zhen had made up his mind to follow this woman Huo Sining and find a way to sabotage her money-making plans, which is why his original intention in coming to the Jiang Family was to cause trouble and wreak havoc.

However, having heard Uncle Jiang Qi’s words, Zhou Zhen now felt somewhat tempted.

He wanted to know what kind of roughs Huo Sining took so seriously to come all this way to inspect.

As long as jade could be cut from them, Zhou Zhen wouldn’t mind snatching them from Huo Sining’s hands, as this would not only mess up Huo Sining’s plans but would also benefit him- why not?

But after entering the underground room, and seeing those roughs, Zhou Zhen got furious, those were not any roughs, they were clearly just a bunch of quarry rocks!

Zhou Zhen felt like he might have been scammed; he had made a bold claim to Jiang Sanbo that he was willing to pay double the price Huo Sining was offering for those roughs, but now that he saw a bunch of Mogang rocks, his complexion immediately darkened.

Zhou Zhen had suffered several losses at Huo Sining’s hands, could it be that this woman was setting him up again?

Zhou Zhen suddenly felt extremely vexed and thought himself to be somewhat masochistic, for without any good reason deciding to stir up trouble with Huo Sining and her group. Not only did he fail to make Huo Sining jump out of her skin, he also got himself implicated. Wasn’t this a clear case of ’trying to steal a chicken only to end up losing the rice used to lure it’?

The more he looked at those roughs, the more stifled he felt, not even wanting to glimpse Jiang Sanbo again, and he walked straight out of the underground room towards the yard outside.

Seeing Zhou Zhen’s gloomy and extremely upset expression, a smirking smile spread across Huo Sining’s face:

”Young Master Zhou, please wait, what a coincidence to meet you here. It seems we have similar taste, both interested in Old Master Jiang’s pile of roughs. I just don’t know, what do you think would be a fair price for that pile of roughs, Young Master Zhou?”

Zhou Zhen, upon hearing this, was instantly seething. What did this woman surnamed Huo mean by that?

”Actually, I quite fancy that pile of roughs. If Young Master Zhou doesn’t want them, I’ll buy those Jiang Family’s roughs for twenty million!”

Huo Sining looked up at Zhou Zhen with a smile, her eyes deep and emotion inscrutable.

Twenty million?!

Not only were Zhou Zhen and his group stunned, but also Ouyang Jun and the others, along with Jiang Sanbo who had followed Zhou Zhen out from the underground room, couldn’t help but gasp in shock.

What did twenty million represent? Even if Jiang Sibo’s jade gambling shop, which Uncle Jiang Qi passed on to him, did well, the net profit for a good year would only be around one or two million. That is to say, for that shop, Jiang Sibo would have to work diligently for twenty to thirty years to make twenty million.

That year, Uncle Jiang Qi spent 200,000 to buy five large trucks of jade roughs, four of which had already been cut open, and they all turned out to be white Mogang Rock with not a hint of green.

And now this woman cavalierly offers 20 million for the last truck of worthless stones—is she joking? Or did she get her head stuck in a door?

Jiang Xiaoqin also got startled and looked at Huo Sining with a mixture of surprise and doubt.

Even though she wanted to sell off her grandfather’s pile of stones, her original purpose was to cut the jadeite out to stimulate her grandpa; maybe it would help him regain his sanity.

While Jiang Xiaoqin is also a shrewd merchant, she never thought of swindling Huo Sining. Huo Sining had clearly inspected the jade roughs in the basement and even pronounced them worthless, so why is Huo Sining offering such a high price to buy them now?

”Miss, are you serious about the twenty million...?”

Jiang Sanbo swallowed instinctively.

Twenty million! Even if the money wasn’t for him, he couldn’t help but show greed in his eyes, thinking that if this sum made it to Uncle Jiang Qi’s hands, he would surely get a share, being Uncle Jiang Qi’s nephew, right?

Zhou Zhen was also taken aback. He had seen the jade roughs in the basement; they were nothing but a pile of Mogang Rock, without even half a piece of jadeite.

But now Huo Sining was claiming she would spend 20 million to purchase them. Could it be that there was something mysterious hidden in those stones that he had missed? Or was this Huo putting on another act, aiming to lure him in?

”Don’t believe her—this Huo girl is up to no good, definitely playing some trick on purpose!”

When Ye Zixin heard Huo Sining’s offer of 20 million, a cold smirk appeared on her mouth, and she quickly turned her head to whisper to Zhou Zhen, urging him to be cautious.

Zhou Mei, who had faced off with Huo Sining before, strongly agreed with Ye Zixin’s view.

Hattori Keiko, standing among the crowd, was somewhat surprised. She had seen Huo Sining in the Imperial Capital and knew that she owned that large store in Wangfujing, but she hadn’t expected Huo Sining to be into stone gambling as well.

Seeing Huo Sining ready to spend 20 million on a pile of Mogang Rock, Hattori Keiko couldn’t help but sneer inwardly.

Although she wasn’t well-versed in stone gambling, she knew that Mogang Rock wasn’t considered jadeite rough. Huo Sining seemed to have no understanding of stone gambling—throwing her money away was like playing a lute with no knowledge of music.

Hattori Keiko would love for Huo Sining to buy the jade roughs and then lose everything. Once Huo was bankrupt, she would have no choice but to sell the store, and then Hattori Keiko could swoop in with a lowball offer and take over the Wangfujing store for herself.

With this thought, Hattori Keiko’s eyes flashed with a secretive glow. She kept silent, but her eyes were firmly fixed on Huo Sining.

Zhou Zhen had been tricked by Huo Sining and her group several times. During the Pingzhou Public Plate, Huo Sining swindled a piece of stone containing High Jade from him, and then at the stone gambling convention in S City, that woman used a Fortune, Prosperity and Longevity piece to create chaos, ruining his plan to use the convention as an advertisement for Zhou’s Jewelry.

Furthermore, during Su Group’s Donghua crisis, it was this woman who provided Su Jinyuan with a piece of High Ice Type Jadeite, foiling his plot to frame Donghua.

Having suffered so much at her hands, Zhou Zhen was extremely wary of Huo Sining and no longer dared to take her words lightly or to be careless in his actions.
