Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 511: Chapter 507: The Bug

”Captain Chen, if there’s nothing else, please leave! If you continue to harass us, I won’t hesitate to call security to handle this!”

Miss Huo unceremoniously issued an eviction order.

A strong sense of unwillingness flashed in Chen Xiaolong’s eyes. He had come all the way from Hetian and hadn’t managed to ask anything, and had even been clawed by that Tibetan Mastiff—was he really supposed to just leave?

”Miss Huo, may I use your restroom? That’s not an unreasonable request, is it?” Chen Xiaolong suddenly asked loudly.

Huo Sining turned back in surprise to look at Chen Xiaolong, who had an embarrassed expression on his face and was clutching his abdomen as if in extreme discomfort: ”Just now, those two Tibetan Mastiffs gave me quite a scare...”

Su Qingqing couldn’t help but snort with laughter. Was this the rhythm of being scared to the point of wetting himself by Heitan?

Huo Sining also couldn’t help laughing and didn’t deny Chen Xiaolong’s request.

”Come in,” Huo Sining said in a straightforward manner after a moment’s thought.

”Thank you!” Chen Xiaolong walked into the house, trembling and in a fluster under the watchful eyes of the two Tibetan Mastiffs.

Huo Sining pointed out the location of the restroom: ”The restroom is over there. When you’re done, you can leave! If you harass us again, I really will call security!”

Chen Xiaolong nodded, his face somewhat sheepish: ”You don’t need to tell me; I’ll leave right away!”

With that, he rushed into the restroom. After tangling with those two Tibetan Mastiffs all afternoon, he really couldn’t hold it any longer. Damn it, he had been so scared by those two Mastiffs that he had almost wet his pants. To think that he, a dignified police captain, could be brought to the brink of wetting himself by dogs—should this story get out, he would lose all face!

After relieving his urgent need, Chen Xiaolong finally had the mind to take a good look at the clean, bright restroom. On his way from the living room, although it had been just a fleeting glance, he had taken note of the interior of the villa.

A house within a school district, facing S University that Huo Sining attended, no less a standalone villa with its own courtyard. Whether it was the geographical location, environmental facilities, or the interior decor of the residence, it could definitely be described as a luxury home.

A house like this would cost at least eight to tens of millions. Such a property was beyond the wildest dreams of a policeman. How had a young girl managed to get rich in such a short span of half a year and move into such a luxury home?

The more Chen Xiaolong looked around, the more curious he became. He simply couldn’t leave with a reconciled heart.

”Captain Chen, are you done yet?” Huo Sining, who was sitting in the living room, had been waiting for five minutes and seeing that Chen Xiaolong hadn’t come out yet, couldn’t help but call out.

”I’m done, I’m done.”

Chen Xiaolong opened the door and walked out. Huo Sining said indifferently, ”Then I won’t keep Captain Chen any longer. Please go back.”

This time, Chen Xiaolong left briskly, but just as he reached the door, Huo Sining suddenly called out to him: ”Wait a moment!”

Chen Xiaolong turned his head and looked at Huo Sining with a smile: ”What now, does Miss Huo want to invite me to stay for dinner?”

With a slight curl of her lips, Huo Sining said, ”I just wanted to say, Captain Chen, it seems you’ve left something behind.”

Chen Xiaolong’s smile immediately faded as he feigned nonchalance, ”What could I have left behind? Nothing at all.”

Coldness flashed in Huo Sining’s eyes as she revealed her discontent, ”Captain Chen, let’s not beat around the bush. I haven’t made a fuss about you secretly tracking me, but this behavior of yours has truly crossed the line. I would expect someone who has climbed to the rank of captain to not be foolish!”

Sweat once again beaded on Chen Xiaolong’s forehead. He looked up at Huo Sining, ”I don’t understand what you’re talking about.”

Huo Sining smiled, no longer wanting to play a guessing game with Chen Xiaolong. Without another word, she stood up and walked to the restroom. It wasn’t long before she came out with a black button, which she dropped at Chen Xiaolong’s feet.

Upon seeing the black button, Chen Xiaolong’s face turned deathly pale, and he looked up at Huo Sining in disbelief.

Unwilling to retreat in such a sorry state, he had concocted the excuse of needing to use the restroom, where he secretly installed a bugging device inside Huo Sining’s restroom.

This bugging device, camouflaged as a real button, was very small, and in the corner of the restroom, it was virtually unnoticeable. Chen Xiaolong never thought that his sneaky trick would be uncovered so swiftly, nor did he expect the bugging device to be found in such a short amount of time.

This woman was nothing short of a demon; how on earth did she discover it?!

”Captain Chen, can you tell me, what exactly are you trying to do? The kidnapping case has already been closed. What’s the point of this obsession? Or do you really think I wouldn’t dare to touch you? Don’t overestimate your importance. Courting death like that could ruin the good future you have!”

Huo Sining’s expression was grim. She didn’t have a penchant for peeping, but regarding Chen Xiaolong, she had to remain vigilant. So, when she was in the living room, she activated Heavenly Eye inadvertently.

The restroom was over ten meters away from the living room. Her Heavenly Eye could only see a blurred silhouette of the restroom, yet she saw Chen Xiaolong wandering aimlessly, eventually standing still in a corner and crouching down to fiddle with something.

At first, Huo Sining was just suspicious, but then she really found a bugging device in the restroom. She was beyond furious. She truly couldn’t understand—what on earth did this damned Chen Xiaolong want to do?

Neither her rise to wealth nor the kidnapping case had anything to do with this man in terms of any benefit. Moreover, the kidnapping case was already closed. Was he insane? Why was he so adamant about hounding her?

Moreover, this man had even installed a bugging device in the restroom of her home. Huo Sining couldn’t control the rage in her heart any longer. It was nothing short of outrageous!

”Captain Chen, as a Criminal Police captain with real power, infringing on my privacy without any directive—don’t you think you owe me an explanation?”

Chen Xiaolong didn’t speak. Since his bugging device was discovered, he knew he was in the wrong; there was nothing else to say. If Huo Sining were to use the bugging device as evidence to report him, he might not face severe consequences due to his status, but a reprimand or disciplinary action was inevitable, so he chose to remain silent.

Seeing Chen Xiaolong remaining silent, Huo Sining sneered,

”Do you think silence will make this go away? Captain Chen, do you believe your investigations are just and you have a clear conscience?”

”Everyone has their own secrets, and by law, citizens’ privacy rights should be protected. Your unauthorized action makes me feel very unsafe. Tell me, to protect myself, what should I do?”

Chen Xiaolong stayed silent.

The corners of Huo Sining’s mouth turned up slightly as she spoke coldly, ”Captain Chen, what if one day, your privacy—or even that of your wife, parents, and friends—all of those people’s privacy was exposed under the sun. How would you feel about that, invigorating?”
