Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 522: Chapter 519: The Fate of Zhu Xingwang

”Auntie, as of today, Rui Qi’s treatment has come to an end. What he needs to do next is to overcome his own psychological barriers and persist in rehabilitation every day. I believe it won’t be long before he can discard his crutches and walk on his own,”

In April, Huo Sining used Spiritual Energy to comb through Lu Ruiqi’s body for the last time, making sure there were no viruses left in his spinal cord, and that his leg bones, muscles, and vascular nerves had all fully recovered. It was then that she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Song Chunxue was also overcome with emotion, covering her mouth as she cried silently. During this time, she watched her son slowly recover, from the revival of his leg muscles to gradually being able to feel pain and temperature changes, to this last half month when he could stand up slowly without the wheelchair and occasionally take a few steps with the support of crutches. This whole process could certainly be described as an emotional roller coaster, and absolutely heart-stopping.

In two months, she could never have imagined that Huo Sining, this young girl, could actually heal Lu Ruiqi’s illness in just two months’ time. It was simply inconceivable.

Lu Ruiqi’s eyes were also red-rimmed, but because Huo Sining had always told him that men should not cry, he forced his tears back, though his gaze at Huo Sining was bright and shimmering with joy.

Huo Sining smiled and stroked Lu Ruiqi’s head, ”The treatment is over, and I won’t be able to accompany you in rehabilitation. I’m going to Ruili tomorrow, so from now on it’s all up to you.”

Lu Ruiqi nodded his head, but his eyes held a trace of reluctance and curiosity, ”Sister A Ning, what are you going to do in Ruili?”

Huo Sining laughed, ”I’m going to gamble on stones. I’ve partnered with someone to open a Jade Studio, and in a few days, there will be a large Jade Public Plate in Ruili. We can go and buy a batch of raw materials to bring back.”

Yearning and envy flashed in Lu Ruiqi’s eyes, ”Sister A Ning, can I go with you once I’m well?”

”Of course,” Huo Sining laughed, ”once you’re well, I’ll take you around, anywhere you want to go, be it high mountains, grasslands, rivers, or seas.”

Not long after walking out of the Lu Family Villa, Huo Sining received a call from Su Qingqing, ”Ningning, I heard from Sister Yishan that you guys are planning to go to Ruili tomorrow?”

Huo Sining laughed, ”Your news is quite late. We’ve had this plan set up for nearly a month now.”

Su Qingqing sounded annoyed, ”Then why didn’t you tell me about it? I don’t care, I have to go with you guys. Even if I can’t gamble on stones, going to Ruili to see the scenery is still a good idea!”

Huo Sining found it amusing, ”Are you throwing a tantrum with your brother and now coming to pester me? What’s the matter, Jinyuan doesn’t want to take you with him?”

When it came to this, Su Qingqing got even more irritated. She had just called Su Jinyuan, and he rejected her outright, saying she would just cause trouble and drag them down. Su Qingqing hung up the phone in a huff, but then decided to call Huo Sining.

After some pestering, Huo Sining finally revealed the truth, ”Alright, stop the cajoling. We’ve already booked your ticket. Just pack a few sets of clothes you like tonight, and we’ll leave together tomorrow.”

Upon hearing this, Su Qingqing immediately felt exasperated, ”Well then, you were playing me, buying the ticket but not telling me!”

Huo Sining laughed, ”Whether I tell you or not, you would follow us by throwing a fit, right? Don’t I know you?”

Su Qingqing stuck out her tongue and subconsciously wanted to make a face at Huo Sining, but quickly realized that they were on the phone and Huo Sining couldn’t see her.

”You went to Professor Xie’s house yesterday, how is Professor Gan now?” Huo Sining suddenly asked.

”She’s feeling much better. A few days earlier, she went back to the hospital for X-ray scans, and the contusions in her skull have subsided, even her blood pressure has gone down.”

”It’s really strange. Ever since that Zhu Xingwang got unlucky and was caught, the professor’s illness suddenly got better. Even the doctors are baffled and keep saying it’s a miracle.”

Su Qingqing was full of confusion, but Huo Sining just chuckled and said, ”Joy rejuvenates the spirit, ah. The main culprit behind her illness received the punishment he deserved, and Professor Gan finally vented her anger. With her mood improved, her illness naturally healed more quickly.”

Su Qingqing had no doubt about it and nodded with a smile, ”That’s true. Moreover, Zhu Xingwang did indeed get what he deserved. It’s one thing for him to embezzle school research funds, but to slander Professor Gan, and even to patronize underage girls and force female students to sleep with him, how can such a person have the face to be a professor? He’s nothing but a heartless beast, utterly deranged!”

”Such people exist everywhere. It’s just that Zhu Xingwang’s misdeeds were detected and reported. Who knows how many Zhu Xingwangs are still out there under the radar, doing all sorts of unspeakable dirty deeds,” said Huo Sining indifferently.

”That’s also true, but no matter what, I’m just happy Zhu Xingwang has met his downfall. He was really too despicable, totally unbearable!” Su Qingqing was extremely pleased about Zhu Xingwang’s arrest.

Huo Sining also thought it was a job well done. After the incident at the Hilton Hotel, Gan Lijun’s research results were returned to her hands, but Zhu Xingwang kept jumping around.

Especially right after the start of the school year, Zhu Xingwang teamed up with a few professors from the neighboring school to denigrate Professor Gan, and many students got involved as well, creating a toxic atmosphere in the school.

If it weren’t for Qin Shaoyou promptly bringing out the research results to shut up the troublemakers, the situation might have escalated.

Seeing Qin Shaoyou take out the items, Zhu Xingwang’s face was absolutely a sight to behold.

Zhu Xingwang thought the items he had stored in Walmart were accidentally taken by someone. Although he didn’t strike the deal with the corporation, he had achieved half of his goal.

After all, without the research results, Gan Lijun couldn’t refute any slanders, so Zhu Xingwang conspired with several professors to make trouble, confident that Gan Lijun couldn’t produce anything to defend herself.

But Zhu Xingwang never expected that the items he had lost would be taken back by Qin Shaoyou. Seeing Qin Shaoyou present the results, the professors he had incited all stared at him in shock, and Zhu Xingwang himself was dumbfounded, his face turning from green to white.

What was supposed to be a palace coup turned into a farce. Not long after, Zhu Xingwang was reported for fraud and an investigation was launched by the judicial authorities.

A few days later, Zhu Xingwang’s fraudulent acts were not uncovered, but his embezzlement of public funds and misappropriation of research funds were exposed, and it wasn’t long before evidence of his embezzlement was found.
