Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 540: Chapter 537 Jiang Family Inspects the Raw Material

Ouyang Jun instinctively wanted to refuse, but Huo Sining stopped him.

There was no doubt or inquisition in Huo Sining’s eyes, just a faint smile as he said, ”Since there’s more raw material to see, we’d certainly like to go, it’s just that I don’t know if that place is far away.”

A faint glimmer of hope burst forth in the girl’s eyes as if she had seen some kind of hope, and she smiled at Huo Sining, ”It’s not far, those raw materials are at my home. If you trust me, follow me.”

For some reason, even though the young girl seemed to have concealed something, Huo Sining instinctively felt that the girl wouldn’t deceive her.

While the girl might have had some small tricks and schemes, Huo Sining couldn’t see any malice or deceit in her eyes, just a pair of eyes pure and clear, showing this person was definitely not a petty and mean-spirited individual.

Moreover, her way of speaking and acting was very forthright, leaving Huo Sining with no reason to refuse.

”You just lead the way.”

A few people got in the car, Wu Jun drove and followed the young girl, arriving at a secluded alley in Ruili according to the route she pointed out.

Unable to drive any further, the group had to get out of the car and follow the young girl through the alleyways, not knowing how many twists and turns they took before they entered a courtyard.

Upon entering the courtyard, the young girl shouted towards the house, ”Grandma, I’ve brought some guests to see the raw materials, please make some tea for them!”

There was rustling from inside the house, and soon an elderly grandma in her sixties or seventies came out, trembling.

Seeing Huo Sining and the others standing in the courtyard, Grandma’s face instantly changed as she scolded the young girl, ”How many times do I have to tell you before you understand? That’s not raw material, it’s what those merchants used to deceive your grandfather. How else would your grandfather have gone mad? Isn’t having one madman in the house enough? Now you’re deceiving these people to come see the raw materials, do you want to follow in your grandfather’s footsteps?!”

Everyone was somewhat stunned, not knowing what the situation was; however, Huo Sining had learned the cause of Old Mr. Jiang’s madness from his assistant Er Niu and now, hearing Grandma’s words, immediately guessed her meaning.

It turned out that the raw materials the young girl had brought them to see were the batch that those raw material merchants had used to deceive her grandfather back then.

”Hmph, I didn’t deceive them. I just brought them to take a look. If they think they can gamble on a rise, they’ll buy. If they don’t like it, I won’t force them to buy. Besides, these raw materials have plagued my grandfather for a lifetime. If I can sell them, my grandfather’s wish will be fulfilled, and he might even recover!” the young girl retorted to her grandmother, making a face.

”You dare talk back? What did your father tell you? You’re not even listening to me now?” Grandma’s face suddenly darkened with anger as she glared at the young girl, ”Alright, you can sell those raw materials, but you have to clarify the source and history of the materials. At the very least, don’t keep these customers in the dark, otherwise, how are you different from those people back then?”

The young girl hesitated upon hearing Grandma’s words, but seeing her stern and uncompromising expression, she could only agree, and turning her head, she looked squarely at Huo Sining and asked a seemingly nonsensical question, ”Is your last name Huo?”

Huo Sining was somewhat bewildered, but there was no need to conceal something like a surname, so she simply nodded.

The young girl then hurriedly asked, ”A few days ago at Stone Dissolution Square, was it you who extracted seven Jade Heaven Beads from a piece of Mogang Rock?”

Huo Sining had revealed an Emerald Heaven Bead a few days ago, which was hardly a secret. There were many onlookers in the square at the time. So it was only natural that the news spread.

However, Huo Sining didn’t understand what the young girl meant by asking her this question, thus she spoke up:

”It was me, but little girl, what does that have to do with the raw jadeite you’re showing me?”

The little girl didn’t answer Huo Sining’s question at all, instead, she turned to her grandmother and exclaimed:

”Grandma, look, I didn’t lie to you, did I? Someone really did cut Emerald Jadeite out of Mogang Rock. Maybe what Grandpa said is true, maybe there really is Jadeite in those Mogang Rocks!”

Jadeite within Mogang Rocks, was it said by that crazy old man?

Hearing this, a sharp glint flashed through Huo Sining’s eyes instantaneously.

She indeed remembered the eccentricities of that crazy old man. The old man’s prediction about raw jadeite was incredibly accurate. Could it be, their family actually had raw jadeite?

”Your grandpa is out of his mind, talking gibberish, he himself can’t even make sense of it, and you believe him? Fine, fine, since it’s like this, go ahead and take them. But if they don’t buy, you must be polite and speak to them nicely, don’t be too overbearing!”

Upon hearing that Huo Sining had cut Jadeite out of Mogang Rock, Grandma Jiang’s worry eased. These people appeared to be seasoned pros in the Stone Gambling circles, surely her granddaughter’s words wouldn’t fool them.

”Grandma, don’t worry, I know what I’m doing! Please go make a few cups of tea for these guests, and I’ll take them to the backyard to have a look first.”

With her grandmother’s consent, the young girl seemed quite pleased and hurriedly led Huo Sining and the others toward the backyard.

The backyard wasn’t very large, surrounded by an earthen wall. In the center of the yard stood a grape trellis with a flower vine swing hanging from it.

Underneath the swing was tied a small yellow dog, which, seeing Huo Sining and her group enter, didn’t bark, but watched them with a pair of black glossy eyes.

The young girl led Huo Sining and the others into the yard and walked towards the center, stopping in front of a stone slab. She then bent over and pulled the stone slab open with force.

A small cellar was immediately revealed, with a staircase leading straight down into the basement entrance. Inside was a spacious underground chamber.

”The raw stones are inside. Go and take a look.”

Saying this, the young girl took the lead into the cellar, and turned on the underground chamber’s light.

Huo Sining followed closely behind and only after descending the stairs did she realize, hey, this underground chamber was quite large, easily a hundred square meters in size, with a huge pile of stones arranged densely inside.

Just by looking at the stones, Huo Sining could assert with certainty that these weren’t raw jadeite, but all Mogang Rocks.

Seeing the puzzled looks from everyone, the young girl didn’t keep any secrets and shared all the old stories she had heard from the older generation with Huo Sining and the others.

The story was actually not much different from what the shop assistant Er Niu had said, but what Er Niu didn’t know was that Uncle Jiang Qi, also known as the crazy old man, had bought not just one truckload of raw stone, but five big trucks’ worth.
