Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 514: Chapter 510: Encountered a Whale

”How could this happen?!”

”My God, there’s been an accident at sea, with thunder and pouring rain during the night. How can we rescue people now? It’s too difficult!”

”Over three hundred lives at stake, I think the chances are slim!”

”Crow’s mouth above, how could anything happen, the Maritime Bureau has already dispatched rescuers, everyone will be back safely soon!”

”Rescue teams are too late to make a difference, by the time they get there, it will take half an hour just to reach the incident site. By the time they start rescuing, it’ll all be over!”

”Regardless of the outcome, let’s pray for the Oriental Pearl!”

”Heavenly blessings, we pray for those who have fallen into the water in the disaster!”

...

Zheng Jiajia, who saw the live news on the internet, turned pale with fear. She hastily grabbed her phone to call: ”Mom, the ship Dad was on had an accident!”

The eyes of netizens are extremely sharp, and they soon discovered a major news story: Zheng Huaqing of Yulong Real Estate was also on the ill-fated Oriental Pearl.

Yulong Real Estate is a major banner in S City’s property market. If something happens to him, it would be a huge loss for S City’s economy. Su Zhenhua called the Maritime Bureau as soon as he got the news.

The head of the Maritime Bureau tensed up as soon as he hung up the phone from Secretary Su, the bitterness at the corners of his mouth deepening.

Everyone was putting pressure on him, but facing such an act of God, besides doing his best to rescue, he was also filled with a sense of powerlessness. He didn’t want anyone to perish, but such matters were not up to him, but rather to the will of the heavens.

Perhaps it was the many prayers of the people, or maybe the heavens were looking down, but while everyone was closely following the event, suddenly a relative of one of the passengers miraculously got through to their phone. The signal was intermittent, but they could indeed hear the other person’s voice.

”Oh my God, my dad’s satellite phone is global. We’ve been trying to call him, and we couldn’t get through before, but just now we suddenly got a signal, I got through to his phone! Some people are trapped on an island not far from where the incident occurred, they’re alive, requesting urgent support from the Maritime Bureau!”

After this netizen tagged the S City Maritime Bureau in a post, the bureau quickly obtained the message and contacted the netizen, confirming their story was true, and immediately had staff follow up.

News of this also caused a stir within the Maritime Bureau, as everyone seemed to see hope, urgently throwing themselves into the subsequent rescue efforts.

”This is great! There are people alive!”

”There’s an island near the incident site, that’s so fortunate!”

”How did they swim to the island? That’s pretty amazing!”

”Praying really works, continue praying, hope everyone can return home safely!”

The netizens were ecstatic, and the relatives of the victims, revitalized by the news, crossed their hands in prayer, hoping their loved ones were among those on the island.

The Maritime Bureau, upon receiving the message posted by the netizen, also tried to contact the survivor, but their phone once again lost the signal, and thereafter all calls failed to get through.

Because the netizen didn’t get clear details on how many survivors were on the island, or perhaps the other party did tell but the netizen didn’t hear clearly, the Maritime Bureau staff didn’t know exactly how many survivors were there.

The rescue team thought that even if some people were lucky enough to swim to the island, that would only be a small part. Out of over three hundred people, it would be good if a dozen or so were lucky enough to drift ashore. But when the rescue team arrived at the island and saw a whole crowd of people, everyone was stunned.

The rescue team counted the survivors on the island: Of the original more than three hundred and seventy people on the tanker, over three hundred and fifty were rescued on the island.

Despite their disheveled appearance, every survivor was alive, their eyes brimming with excited tears at the sight of the rescue team approaching.

The reporters who followed the rescue team ashore, upon seeing these survivors, showed expressions of astonishment and even disbelief, because no one expected such a scenario.

”My God, what on earth happened, how did you do this?”

A reporter couldn’t help but approach the survivors with a microphone, hoping to get firsthand information.

”It was dolphins, a group of dolphins saved us! They carried us ashore!”

”It was mermaids, mermaids appeared, they saved us and brought us ashore!”

The survivors had differing stories, arguing nonstop among themselves, while reporters and rescue workers looked on with expressions of confusion and bewilderment, with no idea what these people were talking about.

The accident with the Oriental Pearl caused an uproar nationwide. When the media and internet revealed the number of survivors, everyone was calling it inconceivable.

And the miracle maker behind this unbelievable event had already left that deserted island before the rescue team arrived.

Since she had gone out to sea, Huo Sining saw no reason to return empty-handed, she thought about the island filled with ambergris, and managed only with great effort to convey her intentions to the little dolphin, convincing the little creature to take her once again to that solitary island.

During that first visit, Huo Sining didn’t have suitable tools and was unaware these foul-smelling things were in fact treasures worth a fortune, so she had merely broken off a piece haphazardly and hurriedly left.

Now returning to the island, equipped with a storage ring, Huo Sining had no intention of leaving any ambergris behind.

Armed with a knife, a shovel, and a saw, she used them in turn to collect the ambergris, no matter the size, all of it was stored by Huo Sining into Space. After busying herself for several hours, by dawn, she had plundered hundreds of pounds of ambergris from the entire island.

Now she could return fully loaded. Huo Sining nodded with a smile, instructing the little dolphin to carry her back home. But just minutes into their journey back, the little dolphin suddenly exhibited signs of nervousness and anxiety, darting around the sea erratically, completely disregarding the course.

”Hey, what’s wrong with you? Why are you running around chaotically? Did your radar system break? This isn’t the way back, is it? Are you lost?”

At first, Huo Sining didn’t realize it, not until they had traveled a few sea miles did she sense something was amiss. She discovered the little creature had taken the wrong path.

The little dolphin squeaked a few times as if responding, but Huo Sining couldn’t understand at all what it was trying to say. Just as she was about to ask what it meant, suddenly, not ten meters away from her, a huge black skull emerged and sprayed a massive jet of water into the sky.
